Starting with women's cricket...

West Indies head coach Shane Deitz says a lot of work has to take place in the region if the ladies in maroon are to be world beaters.

This comes in the wake of the ODI series defeat to India, with the Caribbean side in danger of being whitwashed in the three-match series.

Here's more.

00:00West Indies women's head coach Shane Dietz is aware that the team depends heavily on
00:04the likes of captain Hayley Matthews and all-rounded Deandra Dotton to get the job done.
00:09This point has come up in the wake of the team's poor showing in the ODI series, which
00:13has already been clinched by India with a game remaining.
00:17We're putting in a lot of work to improve the other players, obviously over the period
00:24of the last five, eight years or so, there's Stefani Taylor as well, those three have been
00:31the big three for West Indies cricket.
00:34But we're never going to be a successful team unless we've got 11, 15, really 20 world-class
00:40players.
00:41So how we do that is what we're looking at, there's a lot of things we need to do better
00:45back in the Caribbean, regional cricket, consistent 12-month programs for the players.
00:54Dietz is far from pleased with the way the Wendys have been bowling in the series.
00:58In the two ODIs played, India were able to make an excess of 300, the scores being 314
01:04for 9 and 358 for 5.
01:06We haven't been able to bowl consistent, line of length and bowl to a field and in the good
01:11wickets here, fast outfields, you've got to be able to cut off one side of the field and
01:16be able to bowl to a field and we haven't been able to do that, we've been leaking two
01:20bad balls and over, going for four minimum and the Indian team have batted really well
01:25and punished anything that we've missed, so very disappointing.
01:30Many questions come about as a result of the poor showing such as, are the players motivated?
01:35What can be done to motivate them so they can improve?
01:39This is what Dietz has to say.
01:41We set up the meetings and the players get them some input, we have one-on-one talks
01:46with them, try to find out how we can improve and like any cricket or sports, men and women's
01:52got to, their goal is just to get better every day and that's our goal, just try to get better
01:56every day.
01:57The third and final ODI is on Friday and unlike the previous two, it's a day game.
