00:00A record stumbling in Gohati.
00:02It's already a foregone conclusion with West Indies surrendering the ODI series to hosts India.
00:08However, with the World Cup qualifiers coming up for the men in Maroon in early 2027,
00:13Windies coach Darren Sammy says his side is taking the third and final game in New Chandigarh on Saturday very
00:19seriously.
00:20I think it's always important. Every game against India is a massive event.
00:27I think before the start of the series, I did indicate it's a great opportunity for us to measure ourselves
00:34against the number one ODI team in the world.
00:37I thought, you know, it's been a good gauge as to where we are in the context of ODI cricket.
00:46What we have to do in order to, you know, compete to win against a top side.
00:53The second ODI in Gohati saw India overhauling the West Indies score 405-7 in just 43.3 overs,
01:01with captain Shubman Gill hitting 223 not out and his opening partner Rohit Sharma getting 101.
01:08As such, Sammy wants his bowlers to have more control despite playing on a feather bed.
01:13It was really tough for the bowlers and the captain, you know, played a really good knock.
01:22You know, he's been batting extremely well, especially in these conditions there.
01:27And we need to continue to try to find ways to put the Indian batting under pressure by being a
01:34little bit more disciplined and consistent in our lines and lengths.
01:40There are also some positives Sammy can take from this series.
01:44That's because the Windy's Willow Wielders put runs on the board in Gohati and earlier in Trivandrum,
01:49where two 50s and a century were scored in game one.
01:53Batters, you know, in the top four scoring hundreds.
01:59I mean, we left home, you know, we've had, what, four hundreds in two games.
02:07You know, it is a positive for us.
02:11The rotation of strike, the intent, especially against spin, you know, these are little things, KPIs that we take.
02:20Justin Graves was the first batter to score a century on this trip in game one, but missed out the
02:25second match with a cough strain.
02:27And according to Sammy, the Barbadian is likely to miss the final game as well.
02:32Then we would now on the tips export.
