02:32A message from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
02:47Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and to our international audience, this is Beyond the Tape.
02:52I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
02:54Now, I hope that you all had an enjoyable and safe weekend, and now we're getting ready to enter a
02:59new month.
03:00Today is the first day starting off the month of June.
03:03And let's just say we were hoping for brighter days and a brighter day, but it's not seeming so bright.
03:08Because as we enter the first day in the month of June, we are seeing six murders overnight, three including
03:15a stabbing in the Southwestern Division.
03:17And also, you saw what happened today.
03:21You heard what happened today.
03:22The commuters who were stranded basically this morning, we took a look at what took place here today, and we
03:29saw that they needed to take some sort of alternate means of transportation to get to their destination.
03:36As the taxi stands were empty, as we know, as of today, they started their strike, and it's a three
03:41-day strike.
03:43But we will discuss furthermore on what took place and how the TTP has stepped in as best as they
03:48can to assist with the situation.
03:50Now, with it being Monday, of course, we have the gentleman who is always here and willing to assist us
03:55when it comes to missing persons in Trinidad and Tobago,
03:58and always bringing closure, or finding means of bringing closure to the families of Trinidad and Tobago,
04:04none other than we have Captain Ramberat, who's with us each and every Monday.
04:08Good evening to you, Sue.
04:09Good evening, Whitney, and pleasure to be on Beyond the TIP once again, and really a good evening to our
04:16viewers, and, of course, our global audience.
04:21So, I've been following the news.
04:23Yes.
04:24And, yes, I don't know how we didn't get a call out to help locate MaxiTaxi.
04:29And if you follow social media, they call us out, the printing that we could find this and that.
04:35But that's just in jest.
04:36Yes, but, of course, you know, it would have been a difficulty for commuters.
04:42And, you know, the MaxiTaxi's are crucial in the transportation industry in Trinidad and Tobago.
04:52And I do hope that they find a way to resolve some of the issues.
04:58Well, until then, the TTPS said, listen, we realize what is going on, and they stepped in.
05:05Now, according to a media release that we have here from the TTPS, they basically stepped in when it came
05:10to stranded commuters during the MaxiTaxi strike.
05:13In response to the ongoing MaxiTaxi strike that is taking place commenced today, June 1, 2026, and is expected to
05:21continue until June 3, 2026.
05:24Now, the TTPS has extended a helping hand to the members of the public affected by the disruption.
05:31Now, acting on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Alisa Guevara, and ACP Specialized Support, Brian Sudin, deployed five
05:41TTPS MaxiTaxis to the CityGate Transportation Hub in Puerto Spain this afternoon to assist commuters traveling along the various affected
05:50routes.
05:51Now, the initiative comes after many commuters will have stranded and faced significant challenges getting to work, school, and other
06:00destinations as a result of the industrial action.
06:03The TTPS remains committed not only to ensure public safety and security, but also to support citizens during times of
06:11need.
06:12This gesture reflects the service's ongoing dedication to surveying communities and helping to ease the burden on the traveling public.
06:21Well, kudos to the Toronto Police Service.
06:24They did well, and I'm sure those commuters will always remember that special ride they got this Monday, and I
06:31hope they continue through the next two days.
06:35I wish I had a MaxiTaxi.
06:37I think if your back was broad enough, you would try to put people on your back.
06:41Of course, and that's what we are about, and I guess the leadership of the TTPS recognizes that they could
06:48do their little part to assist.
06:51So, if you have three, four buses out there, you could move a hundred people easily to their various destinations.
06:57As you know, that corridor is a densely populated area, and commute by MaxiTaxi is important to those commuters.
07:09Now, speaking of importance, let's dive straight into our missions today, Captain, where are we?
07:13We continue to look for Simon Bagwat, and we had begun a search for him.
07:20He went missing on the 20th of May, together with his vehicle, a white-winged road wagon, PDR 2070.
07:29And this last week, we continued searching for him in other parts of Trinidad and Tobago.
07:36And, Whitney, I want to do two things.
07:38One, this is what we call a vehicle patrol, going through those areas where bodies are normally found.
07:47But, you can see the state, right, of the roadway, and those areas are really the areas we search, you
07:54know, just in case our body is thrown anywhere.
07:57And we have to go through that garbage, right?
07:59We have to walk through.
08:00We have to check every single thing.
08:02Is this a dump-in site?
08:03Yeah, these are various dump-ins sites that we're familiar with.
08:06That's a dead goat there, by chance.
08:08So, yeah, so, you know, you have to go through all these things, check every piece, because our body could
08:16be lying anywhere there.
08:18And I thought I would highlight it.
08:20One, to show the state of our garbage situation in the country, and secondly, to give an idea of, you
08:27know, the type of searches we do continuously.
08:30Now, we've had no information, so I want to ask persons to please call your nearest police station, or call
08:40800-TIPS-999-555, or our team at 799-1453, if you have information on this missing gentleman called Simon
08:51Bagward.
08:52He's from the Corosal Trace Area in Whiteland.
08:56Now, you saw the dead animal there.
08:59Captain, how are you all able to differentiate the smell of a decaying animal versus a body?
09:04I'll tell you what.
09:05I'll give you an example.
09:06We're in Tobago.
09:07ESP, Bacchus was with us.
09:09We went on a search there, and immediately, she was acting on information with respect to her scent.
09:15So, I was there next to her on the rail.
09:18It was a steep precipice, and by the time I got there, I said to her, that's a dead dog.
09:24She says, how do you know that?
09:26I said, because we search continuously, and we're able to differentiate the different smells, so we know what is chicken
09:34guts, dead dogs, and different things.
09:38But I'll tell you this.
09:40The remains of a human body is one that's very nauseating.
09:48You penetrate and hurt your nose, and you know right away.
09:52And you can describe it.
09:52You know right away that it is a human body here.
09:56So, we asked for information on Simon Bagward, and that was basically our search for last week.
10:05All right.
10:05So, thus far, we're seeing that that was the only mission.
10:08Yes.
10:08I'm hoping we get some information moving forward.
10:11Again, the big word, closure.
10:13Closure, we have.
10:13That is needed for the family.
10:14But key to the view in public, and listen, we need information.
10:19Whether it goes to the police or whosoever, the family, please, somebody must have seen something about or know this
10:26gentleman.
10:27Somebody, whether it's a friend or neighbor, somebody must know something about what happened on the 20th of me.
10:34So, please reach out.
10:36Feel free to contact us if you don't want to call the police.
10:39We will share the information.
10:41We'll talk to the relatives.
10:43We have to find him.
10:44Yes.
10:45Now, when we open the show, Captain, I mentioned that is the first in the month of June.
10:49And we already saw what is taking place with the murders taking place throughout the country.
10:54Now, there was a triple murder in St. Madeline during the night of bloodshed.
10:58Now, six people were murdered overnight in three incidents across two police divisions in southern Trinidad, leaving communities shaken.
11:07Of the six, five men were shot dead, and another was stabbed to death in attacks that occurred in less
11:14than 12 hours.
11:15Police said the bloodshed, including a triple murder in one district and a double murder in another area.
11:21In St. Madeline, three men were fetally shot after gunmen opened fire on them.
11:27An 18-year-old man told the police he was walking his dog around 1.23 a.m. when about
11:3415 rounds of gunfire rang out.
11:38Also, they found in a house, in a yard, and a property on 6th Street.
11:44Hours earlier, two other men were gunned down in separate attacks in Penal.
11:49On Sunday night, officers of the Penal Police Station responded to reports of gunfire about a kilometer away from the
11:56station near a popular bank off S.S. Ering Road.
12:01Two men were killed, and a third man was hospitalized with gunshot injuries.
12:06Their identities were not yet released by police.
12:09And in Pfizer, a man was stabbed to death in a domestic-related incident.
12:13On Sunday night, the deceased was identified as Michael Joseph of John Jules Street in Pfizer-Bad.
12:21The killings pushed the overnight death toll to 6th and marked another violent period for communities in the South Area.
12:29Captain.
12:30I know there was another one in Moppa today.
12:32Yes.
12:32I don't know if you read it there.
12:34Not in this model.
12:36One in Pfizer-Bad, two in Penal, three in San Martino, and one in Moppa.
12:40I want to tell you this.
12:43This morning, when I got up and I looked at the news and saw the murders,
12:49we had an engagement with the Rio Clarice Secondary School.
12:54And you know what?
12:56Rather than be pulled down or be not motivated to go out, I was motivated to go out.
13:05Because there's work to do.
13:07There's a lot of work to do.
13:09I spent some quality time with those students, speaking to the juvenile females about going missing and what is out
13:18there.
13:18I spoke to the young men about being engaged in sport and not to go in the direction of crime
13:26and criminality.
13:28There is serious work to be done.
13:31And rather than be demotivated not to get out of my bed and get to the school,
13:37I got up and was highly motivated to go out there because I know there's a lot of work to
13:44do.
13:44You know, when you're faced with an immense amount of problems and we all give up,
13:51or we all decide we're not going to put a hand to remedy this situation,
13:56then it will get worse.
13:58We all need to come and do something to really pull back this crime and criminality that is ongoing in
14:07this country.
14:08Now, at this time, one of the brothers of the victim, 43-year-old Martin Hariposad,
14:14in the St. Manlin, triple murder, spoke with the Express, and this is what he had to say.
14:19Let's take a listen.
14:29Let's take a listen.
14:33Let's take a listen.
14:34Let's take a listen.
14:36And there's one other one.
14:38And then if we were, yeah, he went to the hospital and he went to hunt with that next friend,
14:41and when he had the shots by the time, he stopped and he'd hide.
14:45And when he came up, then he realized he might see how these shots were fired up.
14:48And when he found his father, he was young.
14:50And the next father took a nap.
14:52I should see where he was speaking.
14:53I don't come here and I didn't feel too old and he got it, but I don't know how much
14:58shots were fired.
14:59I used to work in the border, but I used to work in the border to make him 10 days
15:02in, 10 days out.
15:04I know he used to be in trouble in the past, but he didn't change his life and he didn't
15:09work in.
15:10And I know, so it's just shocking to me.
15:14I really don't know why he's here, so I don't come and do this again.
15:16I don't believe so, but it'll be somebody else.
15:19I don't know the next supervisor, I don't know the next supervisor, but I told him to go to him.
15:23I don't know them back up.
15:26It's fine, it's fine, I can't pick him up, I'm going to work in the morning.
15:29My mother said, I'm going to go to my aunt, and she talked to me yesterday, herself.
15:34She came yesterday, lunchtime.
15:36She talked to me, she came back home.
15:38She said, oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
15:40I just wanted to run out killing people in the country.
15:46Condolences, the family.
15:47Condolences to the family on this thing.
15:51And, you know, sometimes people are caused to settle, but they can settle it differently.
15:55Yes.
15:55Now, the TTPS continues to work extremely hard, especially what we're seeing taking place with the transportation
16:00throughout the country with the maxi-taxis not showing up.
16:04And this is what the TTPS did.
16:06Let's take a look.
16:10We're recognizing we need to have mass transit available to the citizens of Triantabigo today.
16:18The TTPS responded to the ACP specialized support, Mr. Sabine, in mobilizing our buses so that we can assist members
16:26of the public in transiting home.
16:28So as to avoid late evening, half past five, six o'clock, they're being filled and couldn't be stranded.
16:34So this is just our small way of giving back to the members of the public to support us on
16:39a daily basis.
16:40One day after, for the initiative this afternoon, for using the burden of the public and we change their home
16:45seats.
16:46Thank you very much on our drivers.
16:48We are fully on board and willing to assist in that community.
16:51All right.
16:52Thank you for that.
16:53Cover you up.
16:54I'm going to go.
16:55I'm going to get you.
16:57Non-stop ride.
16:59Straight-car in, all right?
17:00Everybody here going straight up?
17:01Yes.
17:02And nobody here going to rub all that.
17:04They're going to never be gone.
17:06All right.
17:06Have a take on.
17:07All right.
17:22protecting and serving the ttps and serving in a big way captain right so
17:26that's a good initiative is it speaks to leadership and you know there are other
17:30agencies that have that type of buses so fire services Trinidad Tobago defense
17:36force nice all those wasa buses everybody should be able to come out on board because I tell you
17:42something you have nurses important key emergency personnel to move from as far as grad sangri
17:51grandi into for the spirit and throughout the corridor and these essential workers must get
17:56to work so everybody could chip in and we'll solve some of the problem yes I love exams going on
18:02as
18:03well yes I forgot to mention that you have CSEC exams going on these students are depending on
18:08on on this key transportation mode to get to and from school yes right now it's time for us to
18:15take
18:15a look at our SOE update as of the first of June 2026 number of operations 6653 number of targets
18:25priority offenders one thousand nine hundred and fifty five searches conducted three thousand and
18:31twenty six traffic operations three thousand nine hundred and twenty total persons arrested two
18:37thousand nine hundred and sixty nine total persons charge six hundred and twenty four firearms recovered
18:44we're seeing increase with the pistols along with the rifles giving us a total of one hundred and
18:49seventy six ammunition recovered we are seeing an increase with the nine millimeter also increase with the
18:54point four five and a total of three thousand three hundred and seventy eight and dangerous drug sees we
19:00seeing increase with the cannabis and the cooking captain right so I'm with me I'm sure that I've said it
19:07over and over I know there's talk and you I don't ever follow a crowd so there's talk about the
19:12SOE not
19:13being effective and so forth right you look at what producer just put up there with priority offenders yes being
19:21targeted that is one aspect I don't want to say this the SOE is not the only crime fighting mechanism
19:29that
19:30there is it just is additional support to what there is and what the SOE does is that it changes
19:40our
19:41balance in the society I've always thought that with this balance the criminal has the edge and I think it
19:48has lent itself for detention of criminals and again targeting of priority offenders I have been a
19:58support and I'll tell you why quickly before we go to the break beginning in 2025 into 2026 or 2025
20:07it was
20:08responsible for the reduction in murders and we even though we're seeing murders we still on par with one
20:15per day one where there's too much but we still seeing that target coming in at probably one a day
20:21which compared to 2024 would have been almost twice too pretty all right right now let's take a look at
20:27what's making today's headlines
20:53and those are your stories making today's headlines we take that break we'll be back

22:18Do you remember when we fell in love? I remember don't worry
22:26Do you remember I remember how it all began? How could I ever forget it's the first time?
22:36Do you remember I remember how it all began
22:40Do you remember? Do you remember? That's fine
22:41Yeah, we lost the свой a long night
22:48Do you remember? Hold on
22:52What we fell in love
22:54Do you rememberangoo? How could I learn, love? Yeah
23:20And welcome, Mac, of course, those of you who are joining us, we have Captain Rambarat here
23:23with us, where he's going to now guide us, where it comes to the missing persons, where
23:27we know.
23:28Yeah, but before I do so, Whitney, I just want to extend our commiserations and deepest
23:34sympathies to, recently, he went on pre-retirement leave in the police service.
23:41He was acting as senior, acting senior superintendent, Daryl Ram Dass.
23:46He was once the former head of the anti-kidnapping unit.
23:49His wife passed on last Saturday, and on our behalf, Hunter's search and rescue team, and
23:55on behalf of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to
24:03you.
24:03I say so, Whitney, because when we formed this team six years ago, he was then assistant
24:11superintendent, Daryl Ram Dass.
24:13He held our hands.
24:14He held my hand.
24:15And he walked us through what was the protocol and procedures of the Trinidad and Tobago police
24:22service.
24:22He remained kind and gentle.
24:25Not afraid to boof me, but kind and gentle and always developmental in his approach to
24:34how he handled us.
24:35And he remained a dear friend to us.
24:38In fact, as I leave here this evening, I would proceed to the week, which is taking place
24:44at his home.
24:45So, ASP, I don't know if you're watching, I accept our sympathies, but for me, thus far,
24:52Whitney, we've had 26 reports, which is a bit lower.
24:55So, you know, we run at one per day, for me, and I believe the drop is probably because
25:02we were in Tobago for eight solid days and the reception wasn't all that hot.
25:07We dropped a lot of calls.
25:09We did try and verify and see what we missed, but I believe that's the reason for it.
25:14But we still have Stephen McKee, who is still missing.
25:18Now, we have information that he's alive and just moving around the Port of Spain district.
25:24This week, I got a call on our site, but by the time it was checked, he wasn't there.
25:31But he's moving around quickly in the Port of Spain area, and I'm surprised that an entire
25:37month has gone by and we haven't been able to locate him.
25:40But please call the Woodbrook Police Station or 800-TIPS-999-555 or Hunter, Switcher and Rescue
25:47Team at 799-1453.
25:51And with respect to Israel Bertrand from Matilda Road in Princess Town, he was reported missing
26:01about a week into May and he's still outstanding.
26:04We've lost contact with the person, his common-law wife, and so I will have to call the Princess
26:11Town Police Station and get a development on this.
26:14In the meantime, you could call the Princess Town Police Station or 799-1453 if you could
26:21assist us with information leading to Israel Bertrand.
26:25And Whitney, very important, Peter Isaac.
26:29We were searching for Peter Isaac just before the Tobago issue situation came up and we had
26:37to leave that search.
26:39He is from the Chase Village area, Chaguanas area, a young man.
26:47You know, I just want to let viewers know he's popular.
26:50He used to be by PriceSmartt, always asking for little handouts and then he would go home.
26:57And this case...
26:59This is at Price Plaza?
27:01Yeah.
27:02Yeah.
27:02Chaguanas.
27:03So, this one, we've red flagged this one, this case, and we have to revisit the entire
27:11case and see, you know, what may have happened to Peter Isaac, but certainly it's very concerning
27:18given the fact that he has been missing since the 8th of May this year.
27:25So, if you have information on...
27:26We have to resume the search for Peter Isaac.
27:29So, if you have information, 800-TIPS-999-555 or they should go on us.
27:36This is Freeport Police Station or 799-1453 if you have information on Peter.
27:45I dealt with Simon Bagward.
27:48Oh, we have Angelo Tobias.
27:50Well, we keep him as missing now.
27:52Even though we have an idea of what eventually happened.
27:58We are?
27:59We're hoping for the best.
28:00You're hoping for the best.
28:01So, we have to keep him as a missing person and, you know, until such time that, you know,
28:11other information comes to light.
28:13Simon Bagward.
28:14I dealt with him in the opening.
28:16Corousel Road, White Land.
28:18This is another case with Red Flag 2 for the month of May thus far.
28:22Peter Isaac and Simon Bagward.
28:25Please, if you have information, we're really, really asking the public to assist us on this
28:32vehicle, PDR 2070.
28:35If you see a type of vehicle like that with a strange number plate, please don't be afraid to call.
28:44Even if your information is weak, we're looking for any leads possible.
28:50Whitney, we had one lead and we spent a long while chasing that lead.
28:55But when we looked at the CCTV footage, it wasn't.
28:58It wasn't that vehicle.
29:00All right.
29:01So, and then we had, this is one we left out and thanks to our producer.
29:06She brought it to our attention.
29:08I think it came up while we were in Tobago.
29:10Mayor Taylor, age 15, last seen in the meantime we were.
29:13What we don't do know is that she has not been located.
29:17So, please contact the Children's Authority at 996 or the police at 800-TIPS-555-999
29:25or you could drop us a call at 799-1453.
29:31So, we still have six outstanding as we begin the month of June.
29:35Yes.
29:36Now, I'm hoping that we could get some information again to bring closer to the families there.
29:40And just some quick information coming on from the TTPS this evening from their media release
29:45where everyone, Captain, having this conversation of the body cams, body cams.
29:49Well, they're giving us an update.
29:51The body-worn cameras advancing transparency, accountability and professional policing.
29:57The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service recognizes body-worn cameras as a critical tool
30:02in advancing professionalism, accountability, transparency and public trust in policing.
30:08The BWCs provide an objective and impartial record of police-public interactions
30:16ensuring that incidents are accurately documented
30:19and that engagements are conducted in accordance with established policies, procedures and legal standards.
30:28Now, the TTPS is fully cognizant of the significant benefits associated with the use of body-worn camera technology,
30:36including enhancing transparency and accountability in policing activities,
30:41providing valuable evidential material to support investigations and judicial proceedings,
30:48protecting officers against false allegations and unfounded complaints,
30:53encouraging professional conduct by both officers and members of the public during police encounters,
31:01and strengthening public confidence in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
31:05Now, given these well-established benefits,
31:08it is important to emphasize that the TTPS is not opposed to the use of body-worn cameras.
31:14On the contrary, the organization fully embraces this technology as an essential component of modern professional policing
31:23and remains firmly committed to its implementation.
31:28Yes, so I support body-worn cameras.
31:30In fact, I did mention to you that some of our members use it, and that's for our protection.
31:36But I recall, Whitney, that the Commissioner of Police, Alistair Guevara, was making the point that just having these cameras
31:45here with a memory card in it is not really the way to go.
31:53What happens now, he explains, is that you have to take it out, remove it, somebody has to store it.
31:59But I was following what's going on in Jamaica, and the Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, was explaining the entire infrastructure
32:09that goes with these small body-worn cameras.
32:13It's very expensive.
32:14Yes, it is.
32:15It's an expensive infrastructure.
32:17So, with the request for proposals having gone out, I hope that, you know, the necessary infrastructure follows, and that
32:28the entire system is built out professionally to achieve the objectives of the body-worn cameras.
32:35Yes.
32:35Now, remember, when we come back after the break, you're going for a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 and

34:38Now, Captain Rambarat, we have to acknowledge a group of gentlemen
34:42who have been giving service for a very long time
34:45and they're celebrating 54 years today.
34:48And I'm speaking of the batch of 1972.
34:53And they are celebrating 54 years and we congratulate them.
34:56Look at them, standing and sitting strong.
34:58So, you can say it like that.
35:00These are all retired police officers.
35:02Yes.
35:03Yeah, oh, congratulations.
35:04Oh, you're talking about the selling service?
35:05No, no, no.
35:06I wasn't sure.
35:07But they look like retired police officers.
35:09So, congratulations, gentlemen.
35:11You all look great.
35:12Yes, yes.
35:14It was 1974.
35:15Oh, I was 10 years old then.
35:1772.
35:1772.
35:18Right.
35:19I wasn't even a thought.
35:20Well done.
35:21And I'm so happy that you're sticking together
35:23and you're looking fine.
35:25That's a really memorable moment.
35:29And it speaks of a lot of nostalgia.
35:33Congratulations, guys.
35:34Yes.
35:35To the gentlemen, thank you so much for your service
35:37to Trinidad and to Begon.
35:38And, of course, the citizens as well,
35:41which is very important, our captain,
35:43giving back in a major way.
35:44Now, we must continue to give the public
35:46gentle reminders when it comes to you
35:49understanding the rules and regulations
35:51of the roadway.
35:52So, it's time to go back to basic.
36:02I am Fisi Gowal from the Port of the Proceship.
36:08And we just here,
36:09which is a BS,
36:10and we're going to have a test, right?
36:12Yeah, no problem.
36:12We want to see if drivers
36:16know the rules of the region of the road.
36:17Oh.
36:18Now, tour, we have something.
36:19Come on, let's see.
36:20Tell me.
36:20You're watching that?
36:21The strong man thing.
36:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
36:22You see that?
36:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
36:24Yeah, yeah.
36:25So, here we are going on, right?
36:27I'm going to ask you three questions.
36:29Yeah, no problem.
36:29And if you get all three correct,
36:31you may get a prize.
36:32Simple questions.
36:33I'm going to read them to you.
36:34If you plan to pass another vehicle,
36:37you should
36:37A, not assume the driver
36:39will make the space for you
36:41to return to the lane.
36:42B, assume the driver
36:44will let you pass
36:45if you use your turn signal.
36:48C, assume the driver
36:50will maintain a constant speed.
36:52D, look in your rearview
36:54for 12 seconds,
36:55then proceed.
36:56C, you had to just plan
36:59and take it long
36:59for you to make it look dramatic.
37:01Which one it is?
37:03Look, look in your rearview.
37:05Huh?
37:05Look, look, look in your rearview.
37:09Oh, man.
37:11All right.
37:12But the answer is C.
37:13Assume the other driver
37:15will maintain a constant speed, right?
37:17Right.
37:18So, we're going on to
37:18a easier one now here.
37:20When turning left
37:21at a two-lane roundabout,
37:24which is the most appropriate lane
37:26when proceeding?
37:27A, doesn't matter.
37:29B, left.
37:30C, middle.
37:31D, right.
37:40Left.
37:41Oh, father,
37:42what a little bit of this man.
37:43He's now saving seven.
37:45Left.
37:45Correct.
37:46Right?
37:47Yeah.
37:47And this one is a
37:49much more easier one.
37:50You're going with hand signals, right?
37:51Now, I'm going to give you
37:52the hand signal.
37:53Yeah.
37:54And you just show me
37:54what to do with the hand signal, right?
37:56To signal it is
37:58unsafe
37:58to overtake it.
38:00Why don't you do that signal?
38:02I'm trying to remember.
38:03I know you're not supposed
38:04to use your left hand.
38:05I know.
38:06Is it right there?
38:07Right.
38:08So, you're going to show me
38:08what other signal.
38:09Let's go.
38:14It's never started.
38:14So, at first, sexy, man.
38:16Right.
38:17Yes, no.
38:19Yes, no.
38:19I want to believe this, guys.
38:21I'm going to shake it
38:22on one second.
38:22I'm going to shake it
38:24on one second.
38:24See how we're going on?
38:26You ain't do so bad.
38:27You get two out of three.
38:30Yeah.
38:30But we're still getting
38:31our prize, man.
38:32So, on behalf of the
38:33Penceslong Station,
38:34Thompson,
38:36and DPS,
38:37we award you
38:38for the Penceslong
38:40and we're going to move in
38:41deregulation.
38:41So, now, is it
38:42you to be there, sirs?
38:42Yeah, yeah, yeah.
38:43Right?
38:44Thanks, bro.
38:44You're welcome.
38:46I'd see you on TikTok,
38:47you know.
38:47Come on,
38:48you're going to make
38:48what's up, boy?
38:49You look like I'm
38:49next guy, too.
38:50TikTok.
38:52I think if I had
38:53your color,
38:55I would have come out
38:55and do a TikTok,
38:57but...
38:58my stepbrother,
38:59cousin, uncle.
39:00Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:01Right?
39:02That's it.
39:02Thanks, bro.
39:03So, thanks again, sir.
39:03Continue with your
39:04regulations, please,
39:05and encourage others
39:05to do so, right?
39:07And you drive safe.
39:07All right.
39:08He did fairly well.
39:10So, after three again,
39:11we're working with that,
39:12you know, only because
39:13he look like my
39:14cousin, brother, uncle.
39:16We like that,
39:17but again, people,
39:18we encourage you
39:19to a revision
39:20of your rules
39:21and regulations
39:22for the road.
39:32And that was
39:33your Back to Basic
39:34with PC Buble.
39:35Of course,
39:35Captain,
39:35it's a way of giving
39:36us gentle reminders
39:37of things we may
39:39slip sometimes.
39:41Yeah, and again.
39:41And it's a learning
39:43process,
39:43and we tend to forget.
39:45Yes.
39:45All right?
39:46So, it caught me
39:47a little there
39:47when you said,
39:48how you want to
39:49not have a vehicle
39:51pass you
39:51if it's attempting
39:52to pass you
39:53because you're seeing
39:54in front,
39:54and there may be
39:55a reason why
39:56you shouldn't
39:56know about it.
39:57Yes.
39:58But you have to
39:58be careful
39:58when you're swinging
39:59out of that hand.
40:00You have to be careful.
40:01Yes.
40:02How you're swinging
40:02out of the hand.
40:03So, yeah,
40:04nice reminders,
40:05PC Buble.
40:06Keep up the good hope.
40:07Yes, a huge fan
40:08out there as well,
40:09and persons love
40:10to see him.
40:10Of course.
40:11Yes, a beautiful
40:12way of interacting
40:13with the citizens.
40:14My brother,
40:15uncle, cousin.
40:16Yeah.
40:17Now, speaking of
40:18interacting with the
40:19public,
40:19it is time for
40:20your tongue meeting
40:21once again,
40:21and we're heading
40:22to the Western
40:23Division Marvel.
40:24It's on Wednesday,
40:26the 3rd of June,
40:276 p.m.
40:28at the Maraval
40:28Community Center.
40:29Come and meet
40:30with the officers
40:31in your district.
40:32If you're even
40:33in the environs,
40:34it's your opportunity
40:35to show up,
40:36engage with the
40:37officers,
40:37them know your
40:38concerns,
40:38things that you
40:39notice that you
40:40want the officers
40:41to know that they
40:42may not be aware of.
40:43This is the time
40:44for you to step up.
40:45Yeah, and I have
40:46attended a lot
40:47of these town
40:48meetings,
40:48and I continue
40:49to recommend them,
40:50and you will get,
40:51you know,
40:52statistics on your
40:53district in terms
40:55of crime statistics,
40:58improvements,
40:59what the initiatives
41:00are,
41:00and how you could
41:01contribute to
41:02the reduction
41:03of crime and
41:04criminality
41:05in your area.
41:06Yes.
41:07Now, Captain,
41:07we are reaching
41:08the time where
41:09we are going to
41:09see a lot of
41:10school children
41:12being, you know,
41:13home and who
41:14are now transitioning
41:16into the young
41:18adult phase.
41:19Yeah.
41:19What advice you
41:20could give them
41:20in that period
41:21when we get ready
41:22and closer to
41:23preparing for the
41:24July-August
41:25vacation?
41:25Well, there's
41:26a lot of things
41:27because I know
41:29them, I worked
41:31with them in the
41:31school system,
41:32and they would be
41:33eager to get out
41:34there, but I was
41:35given a lecture
41:36this morning,
41:37and I said to
41:37them about life.
41:39Life is not just
41:41about math and
41:42science.
41:43It is about that,
41:45getting a job,
41:46plus other things.
41:48I would like to
41:49see them use
41:49their time,
41:51especially the
41:51boys with respect
41:52to sport and
41:54physical activities.
41:56Try and get out
41:57there with respect
41:59to the girls and
42:00boys.
42:01Try to learn
42:01other things in
42:03your life.
42:03Learn to play
42:04the piano,
42:05the quattro,
42:06the guitar.
42:08Go and learn
42:09to swim.
42:10We have too many
42:10drownings for an
42:12island.
42:13Go to dance
42:13and do other
42:15things, other
42:17than academic
42:18work.
42:19Learn to swim.
42:19Nice balance.
42:20Do other things
42:22that will bring a
42:23balance to your
42:24life, and then
42:24your life will
42:25become meaningful,
42:27and your time
42:28will be useful
42:30in creating
42:31other things.
42:32Grow and develop
42:33yourself, because
42:35personal growth
42:36is important.
42:37The more versatile
42:38you are, you
42:39know, and you
42:40know, the young
42:41people, not the
42:42young people,
42:42well, everywhere
42:43you go.
42:44I don't know if
42:44you use the
42:45jargon of looking
42:46for a side hustle.
42:48Oh, that is the
42:49worst thing to
42:49say.
42:50I learn that
42:51from a lot of
42:52persons.
42:52Listening to
42:53callers?
42:53No, not just
42:54callers, but,
42:54you know, reading
42:55on trying to
42:57better yourself in
42:57your career, and
42:58building yourself.
43:00When you use the
43:01work, because I
43:01used to say it
43:02as well, do I
43:03looking for a
43:03hustle?
43:03I'm looking for
43:04it.
43:04Right.
43:05But when you
43:05do that, it's
43:06short-term.
43:07Right.
43:08But then I saw
43:09on TikTok where
43:10a lady is saying
43:11she left the
43:11banking sector, and
43:13she went into
43:14bacon cakes.
43:15And she has
43:16created a small
43:18business.
43:19Yeah, that's
43:20what I saw.
43:21And she's doing,
43:22she's working from
43:22home, she's doing
43:24it full-time, and
43:25she's doing well.
43:27And that's why I
43:27say, use your time
43:29wisely and try and
43:30do as many things
43:31as possible.
43:32You will find your
43:33niche and what
43:34you like, and you
43:36could become, it
43:38could become a
43:39business.
43:39This is the age,
43:41you know, what
43:42they said is post
43:43tertiary education,
43:45is when you
43:46begin to formulate
43:47your career path.
43:50All right?
43:50You know, you go
43:51to school and
43:52you say, I want to
43:54be a policeman or
43:55fireman.
43:56Yes.
43:56But it's really in
43:57the post-secondary
43:59system that you
44:00begin to find
44:01touch bases and
44:03try to find your
44:04career path.
44:04And you know,
44:05Captain, sometimes
44:05there may even be
44:07persons who are
44:08not sure yet.
44:09It has not,
44:10you know, give
44:11them this tingling
44:12in their fingers,
44:13your sweaty palms
44:14feeling up here.
44:14This is what I
44:15really want to do
44:16because we have
44:16some adults out
44:17there right now.
44:18They still don't
44:19know the direction
44:20they really wanted
44:20to go, but they're
44:21doing what is needed
44:22for now.
44:23And then you are
44:24lifelong learner,
44:25so you learn,
44:26you continue to
44:27learn, you will
44:28always be exposed.
44:29I retired and
44:30then came into
44:31search and rescue
44:33and here it is,
44:34still learning.
44:35Yeah, so we
44:36never stop learning.
44:37We never stop
44:37learning.
44:38Regardless of age.
44:38And there are
44:39always avenues
44:40and opportunities.
44:42Do not get
44:43despondent at
44:44any time.
44:45Just keep
44:45trying.
44:46You all are
44:47young, you
44:48into the
44:48technology and
44:49the technology
44:50is what will
44:51take us from
44:53here onwards.
44:54It's already
44:54taken us, but
44:55use the
44:56technology.
44:57I still see
44:58young people
44:59when I ask
45:00him questions,
45:00I say,
45:01you Google it.
45:02So, what
45:02does GPS...
45:03You said
45:03Google, right
45:04now it's
45:04ChatGPT, that's
45:05the direction
45:06now you said
45:06Google.
45:07Yeah, so go to
45:10a school and
45:10ask what is
45:11that GPS and
45:13they're confused.
45:14All right, so
45:15I'm not going to
45:16tell you the
45:16answer.
45:17Go to ChatGPT,
45:19use AI platform
45:24and find the
45:25answer because
45:26that is what
45:26learning is coming
45:27to now.
45:28In fact, schools
45:30may be something
45:30of the past.
45:31in the future.
45:33Yeah, with
45:33knowledge, yeah?
45:34We take that
45:35break, we'll be
45:35back after this.
45:50Things that
45:51always go as
45:52expected.

46:18My story is an
46:19alto story.
46:21I really
46:22know my
46:22scale was
46:23terrible.
46:23In
46:23between a
46:24year time, I
46:25do that, that
46:25level one, I
46:26completed.
46:27What?
46:27That was so, that
46:28was like a joke.
46:29In alto for a long
46:30while, I'm not
46:31lying.
46:31In alto, I jump
46:32out, I call me
46:33challenging, it was
46:34hard, but I fight
46:35still.
46:35I started to feel
46:36nice, I started to
46:37feel a little
46:38sweet about
46:38myself.
46:39Before alto, I
46:40was so nervous,
46:41never understand a
46:42lot of things.
46:43Alto is a nice
46:44place to learn, like
46:45if any student in
46:46this program, Made
46:48in Music, or the
46:49other students, will
46:50turn and help out
46:52that student.
46:53The teachers are
46:54very wonderful, which
46:55is one thing I love.
46:56The next thing I love
46:56about it, it's free.
46:58You can't study what
46:59person is making, the
47:00perception of the
47:01person.
47:02You have to focus on
47:03what you want.
47:04I am enjoying every
47:05moment in alto.
47:07Today now, I
47:08I can read, I can
47:10write, I can spell, get
47:12into alto, so you
47:14can write your
47:14story.
47:16708-1990.
47:26And we are back,
47:27remember, you can
47:27give us a call at
47:28623-1711, extension
47:301996 and 1997.
47:32Now we head to the
47:33phone lines, and
47:34remember, we have
47:35Captain Rambert here
47:36with us.
47:36Caller, good
47:37evening.
47:39Hello.
47:40Good day.
47:42Hi, good evening.
47:43Hi, good evening.
47:43How are you?
47:44Okay, Whitney, I'm a
47:46blessed one to you.
47:47Yes, thank you, sir.
47:48Captain Rambert.
47:49Yes.
47:50Mr. Shagwadi, in
47:52charge of the police
47:53youth club, he's doing
47:54a really good job.
47:55You know what?
47:56I think every district
47:58should have the police
47:59youth club.
48:01It's an organization,
48:03no one said, even, I
48:05would really like to see
48:06with the Christian school.
48:08They could have every
48:09school, you know, with
48:10the police youth club.
48:11And this youth club, when
48:12they reach the age, they
48:13will become police
48:14officers.
48:14They should be given
48:15first choice, Mr.
48:17the captain.
48:18Mr. Shagwadi, hats off to
48:20you.
48:20I respect you, sir.
48:21I know you're working
48:22really hard.
48:23The only club is the
48:24police youth club, and
48:25they're doing that
48:25great job.
48:26How about the best
48:27one to you?
48:27Thank you so much.
48:29Thank you, Colin.
48:30They had an Indian
48:31arrival day celebrations
48:33on Saturday.
48:33They invited the team,
48:35two members, and you're
48:37correct, it's a perfect
48:38model.
48:40The youth club, the
48:41police youth club is a
48:43good way to go, an
48:45excellent initiative by
48:46Trin and Tempego
48:47police service.
48:48And it's all about, you
48:51know, getting the youths
48:53together and guiding them
48:55in a particular direction,
48:57providing good leadership
48:59to them, good role models,
49:02and as well, you know,
49:05creating a teaching
49:06learning process whereby
49:07they will enjoy being part
49:10of our youth club.
49:12Yes.
49:12Now I understand there was
49:14an outreach at Rio Claro
49:15East Secondary School that
49:17took place, and I want the
49:18public to take a look at
49:20what took place, right?
49:21You could mention what
49:23happened.
49:24I should actually give you
49:25the honors.
49:25Let me take that back.
49:26Let us know what
49:27transpired here.
49:28Okay, so we're simulating
49:31a rescue, so these
49:32children, we're simulating
49:34a night rescue, right?
49:36Although it's daylight,
49:37this is at Rio Claro
49:38East Secondary, a
49:39wonderful East
49:40Secondary, a wonderful
49:41bunch of students.
49:43We dealt with the
49:44Form 2s and 3s.
49:46So they all have on their
49:48headlights and, you know,
49:50they're searching for this
49:52young man who went missing.
49:53He has a tie, a broken tie.
49:57There he is crying for help
50:00and a broken arm.
50:04So, you know, I guided them.
50:07They're trying to find him.
50:08There it is.
50:08They found him.
50:10I have the young lady just
50:12behind me.
50:12She's the leader of the team.
50:14She's the leader of the
50:15young, this young hunter
50:16search and rescue team.
50:18And she has the hospital in
50:20her hand that will take care
50:21of all this, the injuries.
50:23We had a very good session.
50:26They learned some rope skills.
50:27Oh, gosh.
50:28And that was an excellent
50:30session as well.
50:32They were able to put on
50:34decontamination clues.
50:36And it was really a highly
50:37interactive session with them.
50:40And those were students who just
50:44were looking on.
50:45You could know.
50:46I'm a teacher.
50:47I know and I have the attention
50:48of everyone, right?
50:50And it was an excellent
50:52initiative.
50:53And one of the secondary schools,
50:55if you're out there, I think we have
50:56a well-planned program for these
50:58young people.
50:59You give us two hours with them.
51:01They learn a lot.
51:03So this is Kestraj demonstrating
51:05how to use a new type of splint.
51:08So you don't have to get these
51:09sticks and bandy legs anymore.
51:12We said he's suffering from a broken
51:14right thigh.
51:16And here he is securing the right
51:18thigh to the left thigh to ensure
51:21that when mobilization takes place,
51:23it is secured.
51:25His hands are bandaged.
51:26He has a broken arm, lower limb.
51:30And, you know, we taught them how
51:31to move him to the stretcher,
51:33how to move a stretcher around
51:34in the forest.
51:36And this girl with a red bag,
51:40she took her responsibility as leader
51:43really serious, really serious.
51:45So it was a good exercise.
51:47We need to do more of this with our students.
51:50It doesn't matter what they learn.
51:52Once we engage them in positive things
51:56and positive behaviors,
51:58they go home feeling accomplished
52:00and their self-esteem has been raised.
52:03than, as I said, an excellent bunch of students.
52:07Look at them, very attentive,
52:09following instructions, right?
52:11And they did everything well, right?
52:16And this is interactive.
52:20So, you know, as I told them,
52:22the days for lecturing is finished.
52:25Come and get involved, right?
52:27Yes.
52:28So the students of Rio Claro East Secondary School,
52:30we saw, but what we are seeing right now,
52:33I should say that they're enjoying the information
52:35that they're receiving.
52:36and I hope that they could go home
52:38and show their parents, loved ones, and friends,
52:40and showing that their interest of participation
52:43is also important.
52:45Yeah.
52:46Very, very important.
52:47So, Captain, keep up the good work
52:48when it comes to that.
52:49We have another caller on the line.
52:51Caller, good evening.
52:52Good evening.
52:54Good evening.
52:54Good evening.
52:55Captain, I love this approach.
52:59Simulation, wonderful.
53:01And I think this is what,
53:03not only the police youth group,
53:04but in schools,
53:06we do through a comparative simulation, right?
53:10How you, how you end up conflict
53:12and then live in sight,
53:14what are the consequences,
53:15and then you have them
53:16in terms of the restorative approach,
53:18how you could prevent it, right?
53:20So, you see a comparative approach in simulation.
53:23Well done, Captain.
53:25Simulation, that's an educator.
53:28Right, and...
53:29And thanks, caller.
53:31And I'll tell you what,
53:32when you have the attention
53:34with these interactive activities,
53:37you could then speak directly to the,
53:39let's say, the juvenile females
53:41and say, hey,
53:42this is what happens when children go missing.
53:45Then you could just break in
53:47and talk to the boys and say,
53:48listen, we need you to focus.
53:50We don't need you on the block.
53:52We need you here.
53:53And you get your message across
53:56in short conversations with them
53:59while they're engaged.
54:01So, it's a teaching technique.
54:04It has been tried and tested
54:05and it works.
54:06But, you know,
54:07we have to do more of it.
54:10Now, Captain,
54:11my next question
54:12leads me to what you're saying.
54:14Do you think that we should have
54:15life skills
54:17happening in school as a subject?
54:19Yeah, life skills.
54:20But life skills is on the curriculum, right?
54:24It's there in different forms.
54:25So, what they try to do is like,
54:27like in the social studies curriculum,
54:30again,
54:31they will try and push a lot of life skills
54:33and that type of thing.
54:35But I think what really matters
54:40is whether you're learning or not.
54:42Learning takes place
54:44when the person who has to receive
54:46the information is engaged.
54:49If I cannot engage you, Whitney,
54:52and you decide you want to
54:53see about your nails,
54:56I don't have your attention.
54:57So, the teaching and learning techniques
55:00are important, right?
55:02I will have to know
55:05how to grab your attention
55:06away from you fixing your nails.
55:08Right.
55:08And that's where, you know,
55:10good, good, good, good, good,
55:11good teaching and learning skills come in.
55:13And I think you've got to learn
55:16how to engage them.
55:17I was there today
55:18and at no point in time
55:20was I condescending to those children.
55:23Of course I did.
55:23I treated them with love,
55:25with respect.
55:25I gave them tasks
55:29and they carried out their tasks
55:34excellently.
55:35So, it's how you engage them, right?
55:39I had a teaching career
55:40and I was always engaging my students.
55:44Now, we have a few seconds
55:45before we wrap up,
55:46but Captain,
55:47what does somebody frequently ask questions
55:49from these young people
55:51when you all show up?
55:52Well, the thing is,
55:53one day they all want to participate,
55:55right?
55:56So, they will ask questions about,
55:58you know,
55:59how do you all do this?
56:01How do you all do that?
56:02And we go out,
56:03we take our time
56:05and we explain it.
56:07But I think the most frequently asked question
56:11is really about volunteerism.
56:15how do they go about volunteering?
56:17And I have to explain,
56:18or we have to explain to them,
56:20okay,
56:20this is not a career.
56:22This is something you do outside of your job.
56:27You could come,
56:28go to work,
56:28eight to four,
56:29and when you get home,
56:30have your meal,
56:31relax,
56:33check the team chart,
56:34the team will be on a switch somewhere,
56:36come out,
56:36join.
56:37All right?
56:39but they're really inquisitive
56:41about a lot of the stuff that we do.
56:44Yes.
56:44So,
56:45Captain,
56:45we like to thank you so much as usual,
56:47being here with us each and every Monday,
56:48we are able to inform us,
56:50which is most important,
56:52engage with us,
56:53with what's going on
56:53with the young people out there,
56:55and continue to bring closure
56:56to the families,
56:57you and your entire team.
56:59We get ready for news coming up next.
57:00TNT,
57:01it's up at 7 o'clock.
57:02Be safe,
57:02God bless,
57:03and make yourself a hot dog.
57:04We're out.
