00:37He's doing what he does now, gets to the front.
00:40Valan second, and Perez looking to pounce early, and he does earlier this time, quickly into second position on the

00:47Yeah, almost picture-perfect copy of Saturday other than Koonan out front.
00:52Perez makes a quick move on Valan. We'll see if Perez learned anything from yesterday.
00:58Top three over the line. Yanis Raceless has found his way past Evertz, and so too has Langenfelder.
01:03Top three were just like this yesterday, so I think the inside is really powerful on the start, is what
01:09we're learning so far.
01:10But the track is going to be really tricky. You can see how smooth it is, but also there's a
01:13mix of water, a mix of mud.
01:14The lines are basically covered up, not really all the way fixed.
01:18Yeah, they've just tried to fix, haven't they? Just flatten down, add water, flatten down, kind of bury that water
01:22a little bit.
01:23So those lines will develop quite quickly. It will dry out quite quickly as well.
01:26But you see Sasha Koonan disappearing. There's the yellow of Perez, the Kawasaki of Valan, then the Yamaha of Raceless,
01:33Yanis Raceless.
01:34Then we've got Langenfelder and Evertz as they step up here into the final corner.
01:38They are in fifth and sixth. Is that Francesco Garcia just behind them?
01:42I think he was a moment ago. It is, look, there on the number 29. He leads the European 250
01:46Championship.
01:47So came in looking for a good time, and he's having a good time at the moment.
01:50Finished, what, seventh or eighth yesterday in the qualifying race?
01:54His teammate Jake Cannon was 12th in the qualifying race on the number 30.
01:58He's, I think, down in 34th place at the moment, the Australian.
02:01So must have had a bad start or a run-in with somebody on the opening lap.
02:06But Sasha Koonan already two and a half seconds clear.
02:08And this is exactly the start he wanted yesterday to try and go six for six in the qualifying race.
02:14I think he was a little frustrated with yesterday's performance, and he's trying to correct that immediately.
02:21Zanke just stepping up there. He's in 12th position as he tries to chase down Carlos Raceless and Julius Mikula.
02:27Here is the 29th. Francesco Garcia going after McClellan.
02:31These two fighting over seventh place, the number eight in that seventh position.
02:36You see how he just didn't get on the gas there and almost pulled him down, McClellan, in that right
02:40-hander.
02:41Very, very sticky corners.
02:42As Carsmakers takes Mikula wide in that ninth place.
02:46Well, it's pretty crazy how different, if you move five feet in either direction, how different the dirt can be.
02:51It can be really soft or it can be incredibly hard on the outside lines.
02:55Points at this stage of the championship are crucial, because if you put the flag out now, Sasha Koonan is
03:00your red plate holder by five points over Langenfelder.
03:03Langenfelder fifth in the race, Sasha Koonan leading the way.
03:08And pulling away as well, 4.6 seconds clear of this battle here with Ferez and Vallant.
03:14Yeah, the television doesn't really do justice to some of the elevation.
03:17You start to see the front pushing down.
03:19They're fully compressed coming into some of these downhills, into the mud.
03:22You see that front tire trying to hold as much as they can, but it's really slippery.
03:26And they're not the biggest downhills, like we see on a traditional French track, like Saint-Jean, like Ernais, where
03:31we've had Motocross of Nations.
03:32We've got wave jellos through here.
03:34Koonan!
03:35That could only have been him, I didn't want to say, I didn't want to tempt fate, but he forces
03:39Raceless off the side of the track there as he tries to re-emerge.
03:42There was nothing he could do, because you come out of that turn, Giannis Raceless, and all of a sudden
03:46you're on the race line, and then the guy pulls in the track in front of you.
03:48You've got no point, no choice but to go straight on.
03:50I don't think you'll get penalized for that, but really, he had no way to go.
03:54Yeah, it's, uh, talked about how slippery this racetrack is.
03:58I'm sure we'll get a replay of it, but I would guess he just, you know, lost traction coming across
04:01there.
04:02So, Ferez handed the advantage once again.
04:05Valen now second, Raceless third, Sacha Koonan in fourth.
04:11And all of a sudden, Langenfelder leads the championship once again, because Koonan and Langenfelder are now line astern.
04:16The difference between those two in points in the race is only going to be two, 18, and 16 for
04:21Koonan and Langenfelder, respectively.
04:23The only difference is Langenfelder has a clear head, Koonan is trying to regroup, and he's got Langenfelder behind him,
04:29but not for much longer.
04:30Oh, tell you what, he did a good job of squeezing him off there.
04:33Yeah, it's, uh, you know, these two both know they're in the championship fight.
04:36They have such a big gap to third place, and this championship is likely to come down between the two.
04:40And just like yesterday, mistakes have brought those two together in the fight.
04:46Like I say, five weeks off, even though they've had the odd race here and there, nothing like Jeffrey Hurlings.
04:52He probably raced every Hurlings in MXGP.
04:54And also, Simon Langenfelder riding 450 in a German championship round a week or two ago.
04:59So, uh, but even still, a long time off the bike from world championship duties may be having its, uh,
05:06playing its part.
05:07Yeah, yeah, just, uh, I think lack of intensity yesterday was pretty evident in both of them.
05:11And to see them riding around in 6th, 7th, 8th position and really not able to move forward was very
05:16atypical for what we've seen in 2026.
05:20Just looking at the water there as well, you know, that's probably why, you know, hopefully we have it.
05:26I mean, if we do, great.
05:27If we don't, then whatever.
05:28But, uh, you know, like he, did he lose the front?
05:32Did he get the back?
05:32And, you know, did it high side him?
05:34You know, it's just one of those, isn't it?
05:36Either way, it cost him the lead, dropped him down to fourth place.
05:38And now he's got his hands full with the defending champion and the championship leader, number one, Simon Langenfelder.
05:43Well, just the way that Sasha rides, he's always on the edge of traction anyway.
05:47So when you get a track that's this difficult to predict if you're going to have traction or not,
05:52it doesn't surprise me that he's really fast because he's really willing to push the envelope where other riders aren't.
05:57But it doesn't surprise me that it makes a lot of mistakes too.
05:59So it's, uh, it's kind of live by the sword, die by the sword for Kunin.
06:03We mentioned it in the qualifying race yesterday that you've got Sasha Kunin, the aggressor,
06:07and then you've got Simon Langenfelder who just seems to ride around in his own little world.
06:11He does sneak up the inside.
06:12No, again denied by the number 19.
06:15A mistake on the exit.
06:16These two, oh, Langenfelder had no choice there off the side of the tabletop.
06:21Had to get on as quickly as possible, but as safely as possible as well.
06:25Kunin did look across, didn't he?
06:26And I think that spooked Simon Langenfelder into making that mistake.
06:30Although he did land right on the edge of the track and nowhere to go.
06:33I was going to say yesterday, Simon Langenfelder was down there in around 11th, 12th place,
06:36and it took him forever until mid-race.
06:38Even when, then, he was in only sort of 9th or 10th.
06:41And then he decided, right, now it's go time.
06:43So this is the, there was a mistake before.
06:47Langenfelder, look out.
06:48So far, so he breaks very early.
06:49Or Kunin break very late and just chucked it in.
06:52And then watch this, Langenfelder was already slightly offline anyway.
06:56You can't even turn.
06:57It's so dry and loose and marbly there.
06:59To try and do anything would have ended in a bit of a disaster for him anyway.
07:03Well, great job about the track marshals there to not put anything on the side of the jump there.
07:07A little bit of foresight because that could have been really, really bad if there was even,
07:11even a tough block there or a hay bale, anything would have caused him to go down.
07:14Well, when you look at the opening six or eight races of the season,
07:18when Langenfelder went 1-1, 3-3, 1-3, 2-1,
07:21and sort of 1-2, 1-1 in terms of overall Grand Prix victories,
07:25thought it might just be a bit of a stroll in the park.
07:28But then after a 10th and a 3rd and 6th overall last time out in Trentino,
07:32and Sacha Kunin winning all three races in Trentino last time out for the first time in his career,
07:37we figured it would be anything but, and I think Langenfelder is now finding that out.
07:40Yeah, and just watching these two, you know, they're both going basically the same lap time,
07:46but the way they go about their craft is so incredibly different.
07:49I've seen Sacha make about 12 mistakes on this one lap,
07:52and I don't know that I've seen Simon make one yet.
07:54We're in that same corner where Simon keeps squeezing him out.
08:01Right, we're getting ready to go down to Pitt Lane.
08:09Yes, I've just got a little mini report from the Triumph Factory Racing Team.
08:12I was just chatting to Guillem-Farrez's team.
08:14We just saw him put himself in the perfect position to profit from Sacha Kunin's mistake.
08:19And the team just said yesterday when he was doing the qualifying race,
08:23he struggled a little bit.
08:24He found that the line choice was quite difficult.
08:26It was pretty slippery out there, a lot of rocks forming.
08:30But today, after that warm-up session this morning, it's becoming a lot more technical,
08:35and it's really profiting from these technical conditions.
08:38At the very least, Guillem and his team are aiming for a podium,
08:41if not, dare I say, a GP overall.
08:45Thank you for that update and some insight on the track as well from the rider who's leading the race.
08:50So, uh, and his teammate down there in 7th.
08:56The back end of, uh, Sacha Kunin is what I'm told,
08:58stepped out when he, when it cost him the lead.
09:05We may just have it here, look, as he just comes in.
09:08Oh, falls in front of the back, comes around him.
09:10Yeah, front first.
09:11But again, just pushing too hard, trying to make a statement.
09:14The rider who couldn't believe his eyes when he came through, that man right there.
09:17And then, look, this was the moment.
09:19Gannis Raceless already committed, had nowhere else to go but straight on,
09:21because what are you going to do, Park?
09:23Please, be my guest, monsieur.
09:25No, and, you know, his heart rate's redwining, right?
09:28They're trying to get back into the race, but, uh, to see that mistake, not very surprising.
09:33Uh, the way the track is being that treacherous and that unpredictable.
09:37Sacha trusts his front tire so much.
09:39And when things go sideways, let's see who's down here.
09:42Wave Jellos, uh, just a back marker there off the side of the track.
09:45So, uh, another heart-in-the-mouth moment thinking,
09:47no, the only guys ahead of these guys are the likes of Perez Valan Raceless.
09:51But, uh, you know what?
09:52I was thinking that same part of the track where Langenfelder tried to make that move on Sacha Kunin,
09:57twice denied.
09:59If he gets the opportunity next time, if he hasn't already passed him by then,
10:03I think he's going to be a little bit more forceful.
10:04He has to be.
10:05I mean, I think you have to.
10:06I mean, you know that Sacha's basically taking no prisoners right now in every way.
10:10So, maybe he's just being patient.
10:13You know, they're only four seconds off the lead.
10:15We're, you know, 10 minutes in.
10:16He can see the lead, which is the most important thing over some of the jumps.
10:20So, he may be just wanting to be patient and wait Sacha out here.
10:23Yeah, championship is down to two points at the moment.
10:26Two, six, five, two, six, three.
10:28Langenfelder, Kunin, respectively.
10:30Kunin leads the way in the race, though, from the championship leader.
10:33He's in fourth.
10:34Langenfelder in fifth.

10:36Trying to figure out what is the problem to do.
10:40Sorry, trying to figure out the problem that is Sacha Kunin.
10:43This time he tries to go outside looking for a little bit more smoother trajectory
10:47because those inside lines are really starting to bat, bat, bat when you get on the gas now.
10:51Yeah, and, you know, just thinking about the way Sacha attacks the racetrack,
10:54the reason he was able to extend that big lead early is the same reason he ended up on the
10:59ground, right?
11:00It's both of those things that can work for you or against you.
11:03Langenfelder does finally make the pass stick, or does he?
11:07He's still got some work to do, and Sacha Kunin might not be the biggest fella in the world,
11:10but he's definitely got big elbows.
11:12Wasn't able to use them to good effect there in that left hander.
11:15Looks like he slipped a gear on the exit there as well briefly.
11:18Langenfelder gets away from him.
11:19But that was a well-worked move from Simo Langenfelder through turn four and five.
11:24That double apex downhill off-cambered left into the waves.
11:27Got himself in a position where he was able to get alongside,
11:30and he made the pass stick going into the next right-hander.
11:32Yeah, Simo looks great here.
11:34I just like the way he's being so patient with the race,
11:37and it would not shock me at all to see him fighting for the lead soon.
11:40Yeah, this is what we talked about just a moment ago,
11:42but outside gets the good drive,
11:44and at this point he's still on the brakes,
11:46and Kunin thinks, yeah, I've got you around the outside.
11:48Not quite this time.
11:51And was shut down by the German this time.
11:54That's Langenfelder up to fourth, up to third now,
11:56because he's found his way past Giannis Racelis,
11:59and so too.
12:04Has Kunin, or no, not quite, not quite.
12:07So, Ferez leads the lead second, Langenfelder third,
12:10and the battle for the lead,
12:11getting closer between the Spanish and the French rider.
12:15Fans on their feet for this rider here,
12:17in front of the shot, just out of the shot now,
12:18but look at Seymour Langenfelder.
12:20There's no sentiment attached here.
12:22He doesn't, you know, all he wants is to beat Sacha Kunin first of all,
12:25and if he can stop the Frenchman winning on home soil,
12:28then so be it, you know.
12:29He wants the win.
12:30Well, look how quickly, you know,
12:32he already passed Racelis on that, this same lap,
12:34and look how quickly he has caught the leader.
12:36So, getting around Sasha was the unlock.
12:39I think he was trying to be very patient,
12:40just because he knew there was a lot of risk there.
12:42Now he's really unlocked his pace.
12:46Noise all over this racetrack.
12:50for Mathis Valam.
12:53He was unfortunate not to get a race win in Switzerland
12:56when he came out of that tight left,
12:59threw a chain in that deep, deep run.
13:01Wasn't the only casualty of that corner
13:03with that same kind of chain-dropping incident
13:06over the course of that weekend,
13:07but he's got his qualifying win yesterday.
13:10That's given him a whole new shot in the arm
13:12to go after a race win here today,
13:14but look at those lines that Langenfelder's using now.
13:16He tried it on Sasha Koonin earlier to get outside,
13:20and he's now using it to good effect
13:21to the top of the hill prior to here,
13:22where we are, to try and close down.
13:24He did close down on Valam,
13:26but not able to make the move stick.
13:28Look at his last lap time.
13:29He was three seconds, well,
13:31two and a half seconds quicker than those guys,
13:33and a second quicker than Koonin behind him.
13:35Yeah, they were in the 43s.
13:36He was back end of the 40s, 40.8.
13:39Everybody, well, even now,
13:40seven or eight tenths quicker
13:41than the guys ahead of him
13:42just to get back on terms.

13:59Yeah, it's such a mental battle.

14:03he could stay in the fight with Simona
14:04to watch him ride away from him.
14:06You have to really kind of
14:07wrap your head around that
14:08and settle yourself and then go again.

14:12of nations vibe about it,

14:15French rider there in second place.
14:16That same kind of noise,
14:17that same kind of exuberance
14:19from everybody around the racetrack.

14:26Just see on the crest there
14:27as Langenfelder hit that last wave
14:29and sort of,
14:30there's two more little cups there
14:31right on the point.
14:32We've seen riders
14:32almost out the front door there
14:34over the course of the weekend.
14:37Not a straightforward racetrack.
14:38Right, Valant takes a look across.
14:40Sees the German there,
14:41he goes defensive.
14:42Guess what?
14:43Langenfelder tries to rush
14:44the pass into the outside.
14:46Costs him a little bit of time.
14:48Basically the same move
14:49that Koonin had been doing.
14:51But when you watch Simona,
14:52watch he uses his outside line,
14:54he's staying out of the ruts
14:55and what I like about what he's doing
14:56as you see Valant make a big mistake.
14:59He's working with the racetrack
15:00and not trying to force lines
15:02where everybody else just seems
15:03like they're overriding
15:04the racetrack a little bit.
15:05And that's just due to adrenaline.
15:07But it doesn't seem like
15:08Simona is falling for that.
15:09He's staying much calmer.
15:10Yeah.
15:12But when you look at time practice,
15:13which was sort of
15:14around midday yesterday,
15:17the fastest time in time practice,
15:19Langenfelder, 136.3.
15:21The fastest lap of the race so far
15:22is three seconds,
15:23three and a half seconds slow,
15:24139.8.
15:25And they're already now
15:26into the 42s.
15:27That gives you an indication
15:28of how this circuit has broken down
15:30and deteriorated.
15:32And obviously how the riders
15:33are now having to search for lines
15:34and think outside of that box.
15:36Yeah.
15:36And I really believe
15:37if Langenfelder can find a way
15:39around these two,
15:40if he can drop back
15:41into the low 41s even,
15:42he would build a lead
15:44and this race would be
15:44pretty much complete for him
15:46really quickly.
15:47I think the biggest challenge
15:48for him is finding a place
15:50to pass these riders.
15:50The biggest thing for
15:52Simon Langenfelder now
15:53is Sacha Koonin.
15:55He's found his way past
15:56Giannis Raceless.
15:56He moves into fourth place
15:57and that's happened
15:58since he got over the finish line.
16:00So maybe over the wall jump
16:01around pit lane
16:02or maybe up the inside
16:03onto the start straight itself
16:05after the point where he fell.

16:07crucial time in the races
16:08for Sacha Koonin

16:15to try and find his way
16:16past a very sort of tenacious

16:21very difficult for the Frenchman.

16:24that Simon does not want to see
16:25and that's the 19
16:26be right on his rear wheel again.
