00:29And the Lord encouraged me to begin these devotions, though that I am sick.
00:39I really appreciate all your prayers for my spirit recovery.
00:45Let's pray.
00:47Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father,
00:51the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
00:55the sustainer of all of our lives,
00:57we thank and we praise you.
01:01As this morning we prepare our hearts for your word,
01:05we ask and we pray that you will speak to our hearts and strengthen us.
01:11Teach us your will and your word for us,
01:15that we might build our lives on faith
01:19and correct our life according to thy word.
01:23In Jesus' glorious name we pray.

01:29If you have your Bibles with me,
01:32we'd like to ask you to turn with me
01:34to the Gospel of Matthew chapter 15
01:40verse 21 to verse 28.
01:46This morning we are going to talk on
01:50the faith of the Canaanite women.
01:56Faith is very important in our Christian life
02:02because without faith it is impossible to please God.
02:10Faith comes by hearing
02:12and hearing of God's word.
02:16Rahab heard the greatness of God.
02:20She heard the peculiarity of God.
02:24She heard the wonders that God had performed.
02:29And through faith she built her life
02:32and saved all her family.
02:38And how is our faith today?
02:42Canaanite women came to Jesus Christ
02:45when Jesus was doing his ministry
02:49at a place called Tyre and Sidon.
02:53Who are Canaanites?
02:56Noah was blessed with three sons,
03:00Shane, Haim, and Japheth.
03:04Canaan was the son of Haim.
03:09And Noah cursed Canaan.
03:13And Canaanites were called
03:16as a cursed people
03:18and also the wicked
03:20and the idolatrous people.
03:23And Jesus in Tyre and Sidon,
03:26a Canaanite woman,
03:27came to Jesus Christ.
03:29And today we will be learning
03:31four lessons from her life.
03:36Number one,
03:37she was a woman of humility.
03:41Humility is very important
03:43in Christian life.
03:46The way that she came to Jesus Christ,
03:49she said,
03:50O Lord,
03:51have mercy on me,
03:53thou son of David.
03:57Everyone needs to come to God
03:59with humility.
04:02That's what Jesus said,
04:04Come unto me all that be labor
04:06and heavy burden,
04:07and I will give you rest
04:09and learn of me.
04:11I am meek and lowly.
04:16God requires humility
04:18and He also loves humility.
04:22Do we have humility in our life?
04:27Jesus said this way,
04:29He that humbleth himself
04:30shall be exalted,
04:32and he that exalted himself
04:34shall be humble.
04:36When we humble ourselves
04:38before the Lord,
04:40He will lift us up
04:41in His right time.
04:43Remember,
04:44there are times
04:46we don't have an attitude
04:47of forgiving others.
04:49There are times
04:50we don't humble ourselves
04:52before someone.
04:53We feel we are so great
04:54before them.
04:56That's not the attitude
04:57what Christ had.
04:59That's not the attitude
05:00what a believer should have.
05:04Though Jesus was the King,
05:07He left His throne
05:08and He came down
05:09and being born in a manger,
05:11He humbled Himself
05:13and began towards
05:14the feet of His disciples.
05:15Why don't we have
05:17that kind of humility
05:19in our life
05:20being as a child
05:21of Jesus Christ?
05:25Abraham said,
05:27Lord, who am I?
05:28I am at the dust
05:28and the ashes.
05:30David said,
05:31Lord, what am I
05:32to be considerate of you?
05:34When they themselves
05:35humble themselves,
05:36who are we before them?
05:38In our faith.
05:39We should always
05:41have an attitude
05:42of humility
05:43in our life.
05:44God loves humility.
05:46When we
05:47clothe ourselves
05:48with humility,
05:49God dwells with us,
05:51dwells in us,
05:52He answers
05:53and meet all
05:54our needs.
05:56The second thing is,
05:58He,
05:58she was bold
06:00in faith.
06:01Remember,
06:02in Matthew chapter
06:0415,
06:06and we find
06:07in verse 23,
06:09she was crying.
06:11She was behind
06:12the disciples.
06:13She was behind
06:14Jesus Christ.
06:15The disciples said,
06:16Lord, she is after us.
06:17She is crying.
06:18Let us send her away.
06:20She was bold
06:21in faith.
06:22No matter what
06:23things happens
06:24in our life,
06:25we should be bold
06:25in our faith.
06:27People might reject us.
06:29People may abound us.
06:30We might be lonely.
06:31We might be things
06:32broken up in our life,
06:34but should stand
06:35more in faith.
06:37We have to be bold
06:39up in faith.
06:43That's what the Bible
06:44says this way.
06:44He that cometh to God
06:46must believe
06:46that He is the rewarder
06:48of those who
06:49diligently seek Him.
06:50When we seek the Lord
06:52in faith,
06:53coming in proper
06:55in faith to Christ,
06:56He is the one
06:57who rewards our faith.
07:00But we should be bold
07:01in faith,
07:02no matter what things
07:03go through in our life.
07:05Job was broken
07:07in his life,
07:07but he was so strong
07:09in his faith.
07:10That's how God
07:11rewarded him
07:12with great and multiple blessings
07:16than before
07:17he had in his life.
07:19Be bold in faith.
07:21We should always
07:22be strong in faith.
07:24That's what we learn
07:26from this
07:27Canaanite women.
07:30The third lesson is
07:32we should not judge
07:34others by looking
07:36their outward nature.
07:39Remember,
07:40there are many times
07:40we have in the habit
07:41of judging others
07:43by their nationality,
07:45race,
07:46religious,
07:47and etc.
07:49God always looks
07:51to the hearts of men,
07:52but not
07:53the outward nature.
07:54God is the one
07:55who judges us,
07:56then why do we
07:57judge others?
08:00Every wages
08:01of their works
08:02has been with God.
08:03He will judge us
08:04with what we have done.
08:06But this
08:08woman,
08:09she was a Canaanite,
08:11an idolatrous,
08:12a wicked,
08:13and a cursed people.
08:17But there are Jews,
08:18there are the disciples,
08:19they were trying
08:20to push her out.
08:21They're trying
08:21to rebuke her.
08:24But Jesus
08:25looked unto her.
08:28In Acts chapter 10,
08:29God reminded Peter
08:31and said,
08:32Jesus Christ
08:33is the Lord of all.
08:35He's the God
08:36of whites,
08:37he's the God
08:37of blacks,
08:38he's the God
08:38of low,
08:39he's the God
08:40of great,
08:40he's the God
08:41of rich,
08:41and he's the God
08:42of poor,
08:42he's the God
08:43to everyone.
08:46There is no difference
08:47in the sight
08:48of the Lord.
08:49We show difference.
08:51We respect people
08:52when they have money,
08:53we respect people
08:54when they have position,
08:55we respect people
08:56when they have something
08:57in their life,
08:57but God does not
08:58things,
08:59anything.
09:01He loves everyone
09:02equally.
09:03He loves me
09:04the same,
09:05and he loves you
09:06the same way.
09:08He is the God
09:09of all.
09:11Yes,
09:12women,
09:12though she might
09:13be rejected,
09:13but Jesus
09:14looked into
09:15her.
09:17The fourth lesson
09:18that we should learn
09:19from her life
09:20is our faith
09:21should be
09:22applauded.
09:24In verse 28,
09:25that Jesus
09:26spoke to her
09:27and said,
09:28O women,
09:29great is thy
09:30faith.
09:31God always
09:33rewards our faith.
09:34He always
09:36measures our faith.
09:37Without test,
09:39there is no result.
09:39when God
09:41is testing
09:42our faith,
09:42we should
09:43humble ourselves,
09:44and that's
09:45the way
09:45where he
09:46measures our
09:47faith,
09:47and he will
09:48reward our
09:48faith.
09:50God tested
09:51the faith
09:51of Abraham,
09:52and because
09:53he was able
09:54to pass
09:54the test
09:55that God
09:55has tested
09:56him,
09:56and God
09:57put him
09:59on a high
09:59position,
10:01and blessed
10:02him with
10:02great blessings
10:03than ever
10:04he had

10:05his life.

10:20The Bible
10:21says,

10:24faith and
10:25fear in
10:25the Lord
10:26and his
10:26word,
10:27your life
10:28is in
10:29vain.
10:30God
10:31always
10:31appreciates

10:33faith.
10:36God
10:36saw
10:37her
10:37faith
10:37and said,
10:39your faith
10:40is great.
10:41Because she
10:42said,

12:24the exams.
12:25I pray

12:28needs in
