00:00O que ganha o melhor do start?
00:02Hunter Lawrence blasts out of the gate.
00:05Gets that inside run, gets the whole shot.
00:07And Honda's hero is out in front.
00:09Yeah, that's checkbox number one right here.
00:12Oh, Tomac goes down.
00:14This is going to be the thing.
00:16This is the first time they've been on the track in a while.
00:18So it might take them a lap kind of to get seated in, James.
00:22But this is going to be exciting.
00:23Watch, but watch Kenny how explosive he is early on.
00:26Inside of Vince Friese.
00:28Make quick work of that.
00:30And apparently we're hearing that Eli Tomac may be hurt.
00:33He's down on no.
00:35Oh, man.
00:36He's only just come back from injury.
00:38Yeah, he's in a bad spot too, right in the middle.
00:42They're probably going to speculate,
00:44but probably stop this race where he's at.
00:47Great start, Hunter Lawrence.
00:49Now Roxen's out after Justin Barsha
00:52aboard that Troy Lee-designed Red Bull Ducati.
00:55See, this is, you talk about what does it mean
00:58for these two guys to be in the same heat race.
01:01Look at, not a red cross flag out,
01:03so they're allowed to jump
01:04and go through that rhythm lane as they did.
01:07But this is, this kind of helps a guy like Ken
01:10because he can get a feel in case he's in this situation,
01:14right, in the main event.
01:15And as well for Hunter, if he gets that hole shot,
01:19this is, this is big for these two guys
01:21for those two reasons.
01:22Look at Hunter, man, making it happen when he does.
01:27Yeah, it's going to be interesting to watch, kind of.
01:29I didn't think Ken would be really that aggressive
01:31in this heat race compared to in the main event.
01:34As you can hear in a crowd, I think Eli might be...
01:36Oh, down!
01:38Another rider down in the background there as well.
01:40Whether that was Jordan Smith,
01:42I think it may have been a board of his triumph,
01:44and that is hard to watch.
01:46Yeah.
01:47Remember, Eli hurt his hip
01:48back when he crashed in Cleveland in practice.
01:51Hopefully, he hasn't aggravated that again,
01:54but hate to see that
01:55because he had a great run coming back.
01:57Good job, good run through Hunter right there.
02:02So, three seconds between the two of them
02:04with Justin Barsha in the middle.
02:06JT, what you got?
02:07Just watching Ken Rockson there.
02:09He just has a couple of sections
02:10where he just doesn't look comfortable to me, guys.
02:13Through the whoops,
02:14which is usually a great spot for him,
02:16he is usually lethal in those whoops.
02:18And in the sand section,
02:19he has not been able to find traction
02:21with the rear end.
02:23So, I'm just wondering if it's something
02:24that they made him adjustment
02:25or maybe can for the main event.
02:27You can kind of see Hunter Lawrence
02:29riding off in the distance a little bit.
02:30that's something they're going to need
02:32to address before it really counts.
02:34Yeah, I agree.
02:35And that's kind of the way he looked all day long.
02:37And I feel like if this was the main event,
02:39Justin probably wouldn't be, you know, racing him.
02:42But if he raced, he'll probably will.
02:44But, yeah, Ken's been a little bit off all day.
02:46And I don't know, Ricky,
02:47if there's anything you really can change at this point
02:49to look the same.
02:50Yeah, I mean, you can't reinvent the wheel here
02:53by any stretch of the imagination.
02:54This race team's going to do the best they can do
02:57to get the bike as comfortable for Ken as they can.
03:00Listen, everything is a compromise
03:01on these motorcycles.
03:03And Ken knows that.
03:04His team personnel know that.
03:06You know, if you need something more
03:08from the rear,
03:09most likely it's going to take away from that front.
03:12So, at the end of the day,
03:13yes, the team can play a role,
03:15but the rider needs to make the final decision
03:18because it's on him
03:19and he's the guy riding it.
03:21Garrett Marchbank's Vince Friese.
03:22This is sixth and seventh.
03:23Grant Harland is in a transfer position.
03:26And so, too, is Quadlock Honda's Shane McElrath.
03:29He's been able to get ahead of Kyle Chisholm.
03:31Chisholm was in a transfer position.
03:33And, indeed, it was Jordan Smith who went down.
03:35And he was as high as sixth place.
03:37And he's dropped to 11th now.
03:41It would be interesting to see
03:42these next couple laps,
03:43what Kenny's able to do,
03:45if he's able to make some ground.
03:47And, James, you know,
03:48the mental side of the game,
03:49if you were in Ken's spot,
03:51would it help you going into the main
03:53if you made up time on him right now?
03:55Yeah, I was going to talk about that.
03:58Exactly.
03:58If you're in Kenny,
04:00like, you want to close that gap,
04:01especially Hunter's been quicker all day long
04:03and all that, struggling.
04:05And then Hunter,
04:06I want to try to pull away from him
04:07to kind of demoralize him.
04:10All right, here's this guy,
04:11Hunter Lawrence,
04:12who's been working incredibly hard
04:14with his team on starts.
04:16And, boy, you saw the proof in the pudding
04:18right there as he blasted out of the gates,
04:21grabbed the whole shot, took off.
04:22He has, however, over the last lap,
04:25lost about 7 tenths of a second to Ken Roxson.
04:28Well, he has the last lap,
04:30like to Diff's point.
04:31Ken was a 50.5.
04:33Hunter was a 50.9.
04:35You can see he's catching him.
04:38Watch this.
04:40Perfect execution.
04:41And watch when he shifts right there.
04:43That is huge.
04:44The biggest thing that I believe
04:45he's going to have to do
04:46is make sure that he does not
04:48overshoot his braking going into there
04:51and fade out
04:51and let Ken get to the inside
04:53or anyone for that matter.
04:54Yeah, and it's really easy to do that
04:56when you pull a whole shot like Hunter
04:57because you don't have that,
04:59you know, braking point.
05:01Oh, no!
05:01Oh, Roxson down!
05:03Basha goes by.
05:04So, too, Malcolm Stewart.
05:06This is not going to help
05:07the headspace of Ken Roxson.
05:09Well, we haven't seen this happen.
05:11I don't know.
05:12Maybe as crazy as this might sound,
05:15this might be what Ken needed right here.
05:17Okay?
05:17Obviously, but not for the going into the main event,
05:21but take everything away.
05:22Quit looking into it.
05:23Just go out, ride your motorcycle.
05:25He's going to come in here, take it away.
05:26Yeah, it's probably going to get on the gas
05:28and just, or loses the front end right here,
05:30gets on the gas,
05:31but before that,
05:32he was starting to close in
05:34on Hunter Lawrence at that point,
05:36so you got to think he was pushing it, JT.
05:39He definitely was trying to close in time,
05:40and I think both of you made great points
05:42about the mental battle in this heat race,
05:44what that means for the main event,
05:45but now I'm thinking about
05:46that gate pick for the main event.
05:48We saw how good Hunter Lawrence's starts are
05:51and probably will be in the main event,
05:53but for Ken Roxson,
05:54now you're talking about
05:55the seventh or eighth gate pick,
05:56which is just going to make things
05:58that much harder for the main event.
05:59I'm going to tell you, though,
06:00I mean, knowing Ken,
06:02when he rode for Kerry Hart and I
06:03at RCH Racing,
06:06this guy could come out
06:07and get a good start in the main event,
06:10no matter where he's from,
06:12and if he finds himself
06:13in front of Hunter for some reason,
06:15he could win this race.
06:17Like, it's certainly not over.
06:18Yeah, no, absolutely.
06:19You know, and then on the flip side,
06:21if I'm Hunter,
06:22I'm like, yeah, he was closing,
06:23but obviously he was over his head.
06:25Look at him.
06:25I was doing this pretty easy,
06:27so, yeah.
06:28It's funny how the mind works.
06:30It's like if you're Hunter,
06:31you're like, well,
06:31I had him on the edge.
06:33That's why he fell.
06:34The mind is a mysterious thing,
06:36I'll tell you.
06:37Remember last week in Denver,
06:38Ricky, you laid out everything
06:40that Hunter Lawrence needed to do
06:41while he is answering that challenge,
06:43and he's doing it.
06:44He wins last weekend in Denver,
06:46and look at this,
06:47a five-and-a-half-second lead
06:49in his heat.
06:50Terrific start,
06:51very composed ride,
06:53very clean and smooth ride
06:55in this heat.
06:56Yeah, checkbox number one
06:58right there,
06:58and again,
06:59very, very impressive.
07:01He's got to do it.
07:02He needs one more start,
07:04just like that.
07:05I think these are going to be
07:06jumpers later on.
07:09Yeah.
07:09I think so.
07:10Yeah, OJS won't like the jumpers.
07:13That's why I had a little stutter
07:14right there.
07:16His little brother
07:18and fellow champion,
07:20Jet Lawrence,
07:21is here cheering on big bro.
07:23There it is.
07:24That's exactly how you want
07:25to start championship Saturday
07:27with a comfortable victory
07:30over your rival
07:32and the championship leader.
07:33Well done, Justin Barsha.
07:35His comeback to the sport
07:36continues in nice fashion
07:38with second over Malcolm Stewart
07:40and Ken Rockson in fourth
07:42ahead of Cooper Webb.
07:43Yeah, I just say,
07:44you throw it out for Kenny
07:45and just move on down the road,
07:48go out, race your motorcycle.
07:49Go.
