00:00O que você disse, Landon Gordon e Nick Romano.
00:03Think about this.
00:05Romano was a fill-in rider,
00:07and he has done a fantastic job here in this season.
00:11East Coast Division 250.
00:14Landon Gordon had an incredible rookie debut,
00:18getting on the podium.
00:20He took a rough crash yesterday,
00:22so this is a great start for him.
00:24And then Seth Hamaker, you talk about Seth Hamaker.
00:27Man, championship contender.
00:29Just come up a little bit short,
00:30so this is an opportunity for some redemption here tonight.
00:33Yeah, a great opportunity for him.
00:34And again, last time, we kind of seen Landon Gordon
00:36having that podium, that breakout ride,
00:39but you can tell he looks a little bit more comfortable.
00:41He's got Nick behind him.
00:43You tell they put a little bit of water on this racetrack,
00:45and the shadow is here in the Wolves.
00:46This guy's got to be careful early in this race,
00:49but kind of a main event here.
00:51It's been, for the three races that Landon Gordon has done,
00:54it's kind of been a mixed bag.
00:56First, the first one did not work out so well.
00:58Then he put it on the podium in just his second professional race.
01:01The teenager did a spectacular job,
01:03but then the most recent round, it went a little sideways for him.
01:06So good to see him up front.
01:07And, Ricky, to your point, especially after that hard fall yesterday.
01:10Yeah, I mean, we were down here.
01:11These guys had an opportunity to ride the track for press,
01:14and, man, did he take a gnarly crash over the handlebars,
01:19got piled, drove into the ground,
01:21and I was wondering if he was going to suit up.
01:23And I saw him out here earlier this morning for qualifying practice,
01:26and his track is very slick right now.
01:29Like James said, they did some work, put some water down,
01:31and pretty impressive what Landon Gordon's been able to do.
01:37It's interesting to watch how this heat race plays out
01:39to see how Landon's starting to get away from these guys.
01:41So as the day goes on, gets into that ninth time,
01:45all these guys that's coming up,
01:46they've got to make sure they pay attention
01:48as Seth gets around his teammate in that sand section.
01:50A little wild, but he made the pass.
01:52I like what you talked about, too, on that first lap.
01:55This is basically like a main event with this East-West showdown.
02:00You have the East Division going first, West Division going second.
02:03So this is all the heat in a six minutes plus one lap race.
02:07Seth Hamaker aboard the 10 there.
02:09The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki was the fast qualifier
02:12and has looked good all day here in Salt Lake City.
02:16Here comes the chant, looming large in the background,
02:18the 37 of Cole Davies.
02:20Oh, look at Cole going to the outside right there,
02:23electing to take a different line, get out of the ruse,
02:26maybe because that inside, James, is a little slick from the water
02:29that the SMX track crew had put down.
02:31Yeah, earlier when you went outside, they were trying to triple.
02:35We know how strong Cole's been through the whoops
02:36as he gets up the inside of Nick, kind of plotting his pass off.
02:40Nice pass by the number 37.
02:42Yeah, got a good run out of the corners,
02:44and definitely Cole Davies has been the class of the field
02:49in the whoops all season long along with the rest of the track,
02:52and it's incredible to watch how fast he can go,
02:54especially when you consider his statue's got beautiful technique.
02:58Here comes Seth Hamaker.
03:00Challenging and pressuring for the lead of this race.
03:02Two minutes, 40 left on the clock,
03:04plus a lap in the East Division heat.
03:07West is coming up right next.
03:08James, I love the composure that all Landon Gordon has,
03:13and he's getting some heat from Seth Hamaker here.
03:17He's just riding his lap.
03:21Is it just a matter of time?
03:23Seemingly so.
03:24As they hit the whoops one more time,
03:25who's better through here?
03:26Look at Seth Hamaker on that outside line.
03:28Into the sand, they jump.
03:30Oh, Landon Gordon took that line away from him.
03:34Did you see how Landon did go all the way to the tough blocks?
03:36That was great defensive riding.
03:39Hey, there's a QR code on your screen there.
03:41Quick reminder to scan it for your chance to win an Insta 360 camera.
03:45It's fast, it's easy scan now to enter, and good luck.
03:48Yeah, Seth has been strong all day.
03:50It's probably the best I've seen him, more comfortable all year.
03:53As you can see, some of these 180s, they leave these corners really open.
03:57He could run it in there, but I think Seth can play it off JT.
04:01Yeah, and for Seth, as he tries to make a move up the inside.
04:04Whoa!
04:06Go ahead, JT.
04:07I just think this is the perfect kind of racetrack for Seth Hamaker.
04:10The track's perfect.
04:11The whoops have not broken down at all yet.
04:13So he's got to make the most of the moment,
04:15because I think as the whoops start to deteriorate,
04:18a guy like Cole Davis is going to make the most of it.
04:21You see Seth making a move, there are the whoops himself.
04:23That he won.
04:23It's been difficult to get by Landon Gordon,
04:25but finally Seth Hamaker does.
04:27Quick look around to see where the youngster is.
04:29And then here comes his teammate.
04:31The two Monster Energy Star Yamaha racers are together now.
04:34Yeah, nice attempt by Cole Davis.
04:36Wasn't able to get it done,
04:37but look at the gap that the 10 of Hamakers put on these guys
04:41just from getting into the lead.
04:43But again, great job from Landon Gordon.
04:46Racing hard and clean,
04:47and this is really the most realistic racetrack he's been on
04:51since his rookie debut,
04:53because he's been in the mud ever since.
04:55Yeah, absolutely.
04:56He's going to have a realistic pass
04:57and get passed by his teammate,
04:59but that's right.
05:00Still a good performance.
05:02You can see Seth has already gotten away from him,
05:04so kind of knows you got to make that pass happen
05:07and let's see if he can close up on our number 10 out front.
05:09Two wonderful graduates of the SMX Next program.
05:12The 18-year-old Cole Davies gets ahead
05:14of the 19-year-old Landon Gordon,
05:16and he sets sail after Seth Hamaker.
05:19Will he have enough time to catch him?
05:201.6 seconds is the margin, first to second.
05:23Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun to see right here
05:25just what Cole is able to do,
05:28ride really well.
05:29Now this track looks like it's starting to get worked in.
05:32The lines are becoming established,
05:33and he'll be able to ride a bit more aggressive
05:35now than those first couple laps, I believe, James.
05:38Yeah.
05:39Cole makes a big mistake right there.
05:41Will.
05:42James, Seth Hamaker was talking to me today
05:44about how the pressure's been off
05:46for a couple of rounds for him
05:47since he sort of felt like he was out
05:49of the championship punt day.
05:50He's like, you know,
05:50being able to ride a little bit more freely.
05:53Unfortunately for him,
05:54he's up against Cole Davies,
05:56who's now got his championship already wrapped up.
05:59And the version of Cole that I saw in the paddock today
06:01talking to friends and family
06:03was a version that I haven't seen all year,
06:05just completely relaxed and laughing.
06:08Two guys in their sort of best position possible there
06:11to just be able to relax and go after this winter night.
06:13Will talks about family.
06:14There's even more family
06:15that have made the trip over from New Zealand for Davies
06:17because he's had his mum and dad here
06:19and his grandfather,
06:20who is still here, by the way,
06:22and his uncle has joined the family clan as well
06:24to cheer on this youngster.
06:27And they're really enjoying watching him ride in person
06:30a long way from home.
06:31By the way, if you have a look down the order,
06:35Daxton Benick is a distant 12,
06:37which is highly unusual
06:39for the Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna rider,
06:43who is third in the championship point.
06:44Well, it is.
06:45And he was 11th on the first lap.
06:47So that's shocking.
06:48He must have went down for sure
06:50because how well he's been doing all season long
06:53to get third in the championship.
06:55That's definitely out of pocket.
06:57If he don't make some moves,
06:59he's headed to the last chance.
07:01Final lap for Seth Hamaker.
07:03He's won three heats.
07:05Make it four in this 2026 season
07:07and a really nice way
07:09to get this final East-West showdown underway
07:12as he beats the man who beat him to the title.
07:15Luke Cloud on the 101.
07:17PRMX Kawasaki holds down the ninth and final position,
07:20transfer position.
07:22But there's a mad scramble going on
07:23because Gavin Towers is starting to zoom in.
07:26Watch this.
07:26Towers for the inside.
07:27Cloud holds the outside.
07:29They race to the line.
07:30Luke Cloud gets it.
07:31I don't know about you, Ricky,
07:33but I've probably been a little bit more aggressive on that,
07:35especially in these East-West showdowns.
07:37And the last quarter for the transfer.
07:41That was like an LCQ.
07:43All right.
07:44We'll hear from Seth Hamaker.
07:45When we come back,
07:46we're up and running here in Salt Lake City.
