00:00Lima wants to go after those going after the media after yesterday.
00:03Go right on ahead, Tone.
00:06Amazing.
00:07Amazing.
00:08It's been an amazing camp.
00:10What you saw, Cam?
00:11Cam Justice.
00:12Cam Justice.
00:14So.
00:15Main Justice.
00:16Cam, Daryl.
00:18Does Mary Kay really do the video or does she have her underlings?
00:21I'm sure there's, not underlings, they're photographers.
00:24I'm sure that they took it.
00:26But Cam had a, what, two and a half minute long video.
00:29I watched the ad about Deshaun Watson's passes.
00:32Now, can I just say this real quick?
00:35I'm not trying to be, I'm not trying to bust stones here.
00:38I'm not trying to be nasty about it.
00:40If he ends up being, like, guys, let me just say it.
00:42I'm interested in winning.
00:43If he ends up getting the job and he wins, like, we'll have discussions.
00:46I know what Jonathan said.
00:48I'm very much at arm's length.
00:49I mean, you got to go out there and we've always said there's physical prowess.
00:53He's going to physically look good.
00:55But these are, I mean, these are accurate footballs that he was throwing in these camps,
00:59for what it's worth.
01:00For what it's worth.
01:01They look like good balls that he was throwing there.
01:03So, that being said, there was, like, a two and a half minute video that Cam Justice
01:07and News 5 put out of Deshaun Watson throwing the ball, quarterbacks throwing the ball.
01:11Go right on ahead with what you wanted to observe.
01:13And just by the way, can we cease and desist?
01:15You guys are falling for this again.
01:17I'm not falling for it.
01:19This show is not falling for anything, guys.
01:20There's nobody on defense going against him.
01:23We got to see what he does when there's defenses trying to take people's heads off out here.
01:26No, I haven't sent one tweet about minicamp.
01:30Seven-win team.
01:30I will not send one tweet about minicamp.
01:32Seven-win team.
01:33It's nice to see Denzel Boston.
01:35Better than five-win teams, seven-win team.
01:37Having a physical prowess about it.
01:39But even then, like, even if everybody's like, oh, this guy looks good.
01:42Okay, let's see when we actually get into normal football stuff.
01:46We're not falling for it.
01:48Well, we got to stop taking things and taking them to the umpteenth degree here.
01:52Like, of all the things, if I were to have an entire scale, right, a linear scale.
01:58That was rich coming from me.
01:59Of the stuff that matters and the stuff that doesn't during a football season.
02:03Like, Kenny, you would say throws in the playoffs or an AFC championship game.
02:09That is way over to the right of the scale of stuff that matters.
02:12I'd be like, whoa, whoa, Deshaun Watson to Concepcion, like, and it's an AFC championship game,
02:20and we're two minutes away from going to the Super Bowl.
02:23I'm going to put that, I'm going to grade that 99 to 100 out of 100, okay?
02:29Then, all right, let's say wild card game.
02:32Wild card game.
02:33We're up.
02:33It's, of course, us versus Houston.
02:35Why wouldn't it be in the wild card matchup?
02:37But that'd be something.
02:38And, hey, thread the needle on third down.
02:40Watson is able to hit Harold Fannin over the middle of the field.
02:44All right, that's a 92 out of 100.
02:48Let's go to week 16.
02:49We're jockeying for position.
02:51We're fighting for our playoff lives.
02:53And it's a seam route.
02:55And, all right, that's an 88.
02:58That's an 85.
02:59Do you get where I'm coming from?
03:01Yeah, I get you.
03:02All right, now, let's go to all the way preseason game number three.
03:07In the old days, that used to be.
03:09It used to be the dress rehearsal.
03:10The dress rehearsal.
03:11All right, that's like 45 out of 100.
03:15Kenny, the joint practice.
03:17Do we have the Buffalo Bills this year in the joint practice?
03:20I see some big throws, and then a skirmish breaks out right afterwards.
03:24And we talk about how physical,
03:25and we had to actually have it feel like a real NFL football game.
03:29All right, that's like a 35.
03:34Guys, minicamp in May.
03:35Are they wearing pads, Kenny?
03:37What are they wearing?
03:38Well, they might have some shells on.
03:40Okay.
03:40But I don't think so.
03:43Is there a pass rush?
03:44Is there just jerseys and shorts, compression shorts and the whatnot?
03:46No, not really, no.
03:48In the cam video that you saw?
03:49No.
03:50In the cam video?
03:51No, no, no.
03:52We're throwing the ball.
03:52Just throwing it.
03:53Guys, this is a five on a scale of one to 100.
03:57This show is not going to overreact to a five out of 100 on the scale of things that matter.
04:04I want to retract what I said about we've got to stop taking things to the upteenth degree.
04:08I'm still the same person who got freaked out over how Mike Rutenberg answered questions yesterday.
04:12Fair enough.
04:12Fair enough.
04:13I stand down.
04:14I apologize before I start getting the nasty tweets.
04:16You guys are right.
04:17Go ahead right on ahead.
04:18So, if you are spending your time, was it 75 and sunny yesterday in Cleveland?
04:24It was not.
04:24Well, it was like 66, 67 degrees.
04:27Was this one of the 40?
04:28You've got to bump that up, too.
04:29In Berea, it might have been a little warmer than it was where we were.
04:32Okay.
04:32So, this was one of the now famous Jason Nicholas, 40 days of great weather.
04:3945 days of great weather.
04:40That you get the entire year.
04:41We were at least on the edge of it.
04:42We were on the edge.
04:43If you spent your day yesterday analyzing that video and then yelling at Daryl Ryder,
04:51at Cam Justice, Mary Kay Cabot, Zach Jackson.
04:57Well, you should yell at Zach every day.
04:58No problem with that.
04:59Zach deserves the hate.
04:59He deserves it.
05:00Yeah.
05:00But if you are doing that on a day like yesterday and going, you're lying!
05:06Show the Shador touchdown!
05:09You're lying!
05:11He had three, not two!
05:14This might not be the sport for you.
05:18Because I felt like yesterday was a weed-out day.
05:22If you spent your day on a beautiful Thursday in Northeast Ohio, while I'm going right to
05:29the chip or right to the carrots and not even using the tongs yesterday.
05:35If you spent your day doing that, man, you're not built for this.
05:42Because this is only going to get worse.
05:44I saw the video.
05:45I didn't see any of the responses.
05:46I didn't see any of it.
05:48All social media responses are brought to you by...
05:50Shive and Jewelers, Cleveland's premier jewelry store.
05:536.31 in 29 seconds.
05:55See, again, I think that there are a lot of Browns fans who they're not...
06:01We're trying to split the internet and reality here at all times.
06:04And I think that this is one of the things that does annoy people about the quarterback
06:08competition, whatever we want to call it at this point, because I'm ready to declare
06:11something else here, that there's this big nastiness over the quarterbacks and who could
06:20win and who could be the starting quarterback for this Cleveland Browns football team.
06:24I can't deny reality.
06:26The amount of people who are saying that Deshaun Watson is in the lead, and part of it is a
06:36confirmation bias, because we said in January, February, when this started really being talked
06:40about, that like, yeah, if he's the veteran, and he's been around for a decade, and he's
06:48played at a high level before, and he's physically healthy again, how could he not be in the lead?
06:53How could he not have the inside track to win the job?
06:56So part of it is confirmation bias, and it's just like, hey, this is...
06:59But part of it is common sense.
07:01I don't need to get mad over all this.
07:04It's something that, again, I think we'll have...
07:06I think it's a seven-win football team, and I'd rather have conversations about Shador,
07:10because I think he's closer to the future of this franchise than what Deshaun Watson
07:14is, but I can't sit here and entertain calling people liars over...
07:20This is video evidence.
07:21These are good footballs.
07:22These are good footballs being thrown here.
07:24And we also are fully aware...
07:26I can't deny the truth, guys.
07:27And we're also fully aware that if all of a sudden a team like Seattle, if you're playing
07:34the Seahawks, who won the Super Bowl last year, disguising everything at the line of scrimmage,
07:38that it's probably not going to be as easy for Watson or any quarterback in the NFL to go up
07:45to the line of scrimmage and make the throws that they're making.
07:47So, hey, good that he's doing it.
07:50Looks to be getting back to his athleticism.
07:53Who knows if it'll ever be what it was in Houston?
07:56Probably not.
07:56But it's all based on training or on minicamp OTA stuff.
08:01Where you're not allowed to breathe on the quarterback.
08:03No.
08:03And if you do, you get escorted from the premises.
08:06And the issue is that I think that if they're still...
08:11And I want to ask Darrell about this, if they're still kind of on that timeline.
08:13Because at first, it was when Todd Munkin got the job, it was like,
08:17hey, we really want to have somebody set up by training camp.
08:19And now it's kind of been a little wishy-washy.
08:21Didn't you notice that, too?
08:22I agree with you.
08:22Yeah, it's been a little wishy-washy.
08:24Maybe that's good if you're a Shador person, if you're Shador first.
08:27That should definitely be a thing for the folks who are Shadorians
08:30who definitely want him to be the starter.
08:32That should be in the back of your head.
08:33However, I do think that the best laid plans there for Todd Munkin
08:37is to have a guy...
08:38Because you want to hit training camp.
08:39You want to hit the ground running.
08:41I don't want to be doing experiments in training camp.
08:43Like, now's maybe the time for experimentation.
08:45By the time you get to training camp, you are trying to win football.
08:47You don't want to divide all the reps out.
08:50I mean, think about going through that last year.
08:52Say what you want about Stefanski's handling of that.
08:55That didn't make it easy on anybody.
08:56That didn't make it easy.
08:58I thought it was all handled terribly.
08:59Right.
09:00The whole thing.
09:01These are important reps.
09:03And I get it.
09:04You want to hand out as many as you can to the youngsters.
09:07But by a certain time, it's like, all right, prepare the team for actual football.
09:11And what we were doing last year, in no way, shape, or form prepared anybody
09:15for a season of football.
09:17And then you saw what happened.
09:18We cycled through all four quarterbacks in record time.
09:21Yeah.
09:21Just because you're telling me something I don't want to hear.
09:23Like, I'd rather it be Shador, who's throwing the ball all over the place
09:26and looking good.
09:27And I'm sure there's videos also of Shador looking good.
09:29I saw some good stuff from him.
09:31But when I keep hearing about one guy being in the lead, I have to take that
09:35and go, man, I got all these people who are insiders, all these people who are
09:39saying, this guy's the one who's going to be the one who's leading this race.
09:44I have to, I can't just call them all liars because they're telling me
09:48something I don't want to hear.
09:49Just because they're telling me something I don't want to agree with.
09:52I have to take the truth of the matter.
09:55There's been plenty of times I've had to accept harsh truths over things that I
09:58didn't want to have happen over the Cleveland Browns.
10:01Most of it's been negative.
10:02If he's better and more apt to go, like, we've got to go try to win football games.
10:06I don't know what the future of some of these players are.
10:09I know we had big conversations about it yesterday with one in particular.
10:12I'm going to operate as if he's on this football team.
10:16And if he's on this football team, then you've got to go out and you've got to
10:18try to win.
10:19And that means that you're probably going to give the inside track to the
10:23veteran there.
10:23And if he goes out there and he sucks up the room and Shador comes in and looks
10:28good, yeah, I think that they deserve every bit of criticism coming after him
10:31because what were they missing in there?
10:33How did they get hoodwinked?
10:35How did they get fooled again by 6'3 and big strong and all that other stuff that
10:41just doesn't translate to when defenses are actually trying to go out there to
10:46decapitate people?
10:47See, that's where that criticism will lie.
10:49So we'll find out.
10:51But I'm not going to call you a liar or anybody else a liar.
10:54That's a strong thing to say.
10:55I'll say you're lying to yourself.
10:57If you flat out did lie, I'll say you're a liar.
10:59But the lying stuff, it's just nonsense to me.
11:06Cam Justice has no reason to be lying.
11:08Daryl has no reason to be lying.
11:11Jason, as much as I've screamed in his face, and Zach, as much as I screamed in
11:15And I do think Zach kind of plays around with the people reading him on Twitter
11:17every now and then.
11:18I mean, the Brendan Sorsby thing was that should be framed and put up on the wall.
11:23I don't think that they're, I'm not going to call them liars.
11:26Not liars.
11:27That's a strong thing to say.
11:292-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
11:31It's a, it is distressing.
11:34I'd like to see the young guy.
11:36I'd like to see the guy who's fun, for me, way more fun to talk about.
11:40I think for you, way more fun to talk about.
11:42I'd rather him be in the lead.
11:44But it looks as if he's not in the lead.
11:46I don't, I'm not ready to call the race yet, but maybe that's just me being in
11:50denial.
11:51And if I'm in denial, I'm not going to call somebody else a liar over it.
