00:00Hello there my very good friends on today's wrestling news you gotta hear
00:03both sides of the Ludwig Kaiser situation. Tony Khan says AEW is making loads of
00:08money. WWE is imposing new restrictions on ID talent. And will Mick Foley wrestle
00:14in AEW? I'm Andy H Murray the H stands for horse. Hey and I'm Phil Chambers. You try to steal
00:21my H there.
00:21There's an H in it but it just stands for Hill. It's the end of Phil. Hill Hambers. Hill Kimbers
00:26actually.
00:27That's it. Yeah they are. That's your name. Anyway let's kick this one off by talking about.
00:32Just talking. Yeah we're just gonna talk actually. There's no specific subjects. I think we're just
00:36talking about the weather, our shoes, stuff like that. But no speaking of people who have multiple
00:42aliases. Ludwig Kaiser, El Grande Americano, Marcel Barfel. Different people. Of course. The old
00:48the old. Wilborn's not here but somebody has to do the gimmick obviously. He was arrested earlier
00:55this week in Florida. He, the charge was battery. He was released on his bond of $1,000. No details
01:02had come out at the time as to what had actually happened but it was clarified that it wasn't a
01:06domestic situation. But now both sides have come out and yeah they completely contradict each other
01:14basically. So you might have already heard the police report but we'll go over that anyway and then I'll go
01:18over the stuff that the people probably haven't heard of yet which is Ludwig Kaiser's or Marcel's
01:23side of the situation to use his real name. So the police report was published everywhere yesterday.
01:28Basically so the victim, it's a chap called Richard Reap. I'll just read it to you because I mean some
01:34of
01:34the terminology in here is completely insane. Yep. The victim stated that he was battered by an unknown
01:41white male just outside the elevator on the 12th floor. The victim advised that about 1830 hours he
01:49entered the elevator and was followed by an unknown white male and an unknown white female. The victim
01:54stated that as the elevator ascended the male and female began acting in an, this is a quotation,
02:02an uncontrollably intimate manner that he described as aggressively kissing. That, what terminology is that?
02:10Aggressively kissing. Aggressively. Uncontrollably. They just could not be stopped. It could not be
02:14stopped. Couldn't be stopped in this elevator. He continued. The victim stated that once the
02:19elevator reached the 12th floor he exited the elevator and told the couple to please have some
02:23manners. The victim advised that immediately after making the statement the unknown male began attacking
02:29him. The victim described the attack as the male punching him several times and pushing him to the
02:34ground. The victim further stated that the male made threats of additional violence towards him. Apparently,
02:39the alleged victim claimed that they had a big cut on their head, or a scratch, sorry. A large,
02:44fresh scratch is how they described it. So the warrant was issued for Kaiser after there was some
02:51security footage that was reviewed of the situation. So if there's security footage this should end up
02:54being quite cut and dry really. Yeah, you would think so because the lift would probably have some
02:59as well. You'd think so. Depending on the building but I mean the idea of this is ridiculous if that's
03:03the full story.
03:04Well, it's not. Which is not. It's not. But like it's just two people like making out really heavily in
03:09the lift at 6.30 in the afternoon. Yeah, yeah. That guy goes, get a room mate. And he goes...
03:15That's basically the story. The escalation is so fun. Like the way he describes it as saying,
03:21please consider having some manners. And then what is aggressively intimate? I mean that sounds dodgy.
03:28Raj Giri, a name we've not heard of in a while because he's not really in the wrestling business
03:32anymore since he left Wrestling Inc or sold Wrestling Inc. But he has Kaiser's side of this story.
03:37And it's very different. It's very different. Here's what Raj posted yesterday. A couple of hours
03:43ago really. This is what I heard regarding the situation. He was in the apartment elevator with
03:48Andrea Barzate. I assume that's his partner. And they were being affectionate, but nothing crazy or out
03:53of the ordinary. Reap, that's the alleged victim, allegedly didn't say anything in the elevator.
03:59But once he got out on the 12th floor, he allegedly said something to Kaiser to the effect of,
04:04you need to show some effing respect before I call ice on that B. The word, the B word that
04:14you would
04:14use to derogatively refer to a woman. Kaiser got out of the elevator and they had a little scuffle,
04:20but no punches were apparently thrown. Yeah, I mean, so if it is just a little scuffle,
04:25I think that's kind of warranted after a comment like that. Yeah, probably.
04:29It's two sides. Well, we don't know which version is... Yeah, that's the thing. You've got two sides
04:32of the story. Truth is likely somewhere in the middle, as always. But if there's... I mean,
04:37the CCTV footage won't say what the guy actually said, but it'll at least sort of shed some light on
04:43the whole situation, you would think. I can't imagine they're in there with microphones in their
04:46elevators. Yeah, but if that's what the guy said, I mean... That's bad. Yeah, that's racist.
04:54So, I mean, I'm not going to lie. If you said that, I would probably, yes, I wouldn't attack you.
05:00No. But I'd probably give you a little shove or something like that. It's just insane. Yeah,
05:05and I guess if you've been punched and thrown to the floor by a guy, you'd maybe have a little
05:09bit more than a fresh scratch. That's assault. Yeah, that's when battery becomes assault, I believe.
05:15So we'll see. We'll see. The truth will come out eventually, I'm sure. Yeah, probably.
05:20So there's been like a... There was supposed to be like a AAA ceremony for El Grande Americano for
05:25today that's been cancelled. Wow. He should be fine. Oh, come on. Come on, come on,
05:30Wilborn. Wilborn is inhabiting your body today. But also, Marcel Barthel, that's Ludwig's real name.
05:37He has requested that he has permission to travel internationally, despite the address,
05:42because he doesn't have a prior record, stuff like that. He said he actually learned of the
05:47warrant being out on him when he was in Mexico and he flew back to meet it, basically. So there
05:52you go.
05:52That's a pretty good sign that he's not going to leave and never come back. Yeah, exactly. He doesn't
05:57seem like... He's not running from it, right? He's confronting this situation head on. So, hey,
06:02I'm sure we'll have... We'll figure out where the truth lies in all of this eventually, but
06:07two stories that completely contradict each other. Yeah, good stuff. Let us know in the comments what
06:11you think. I'm sure it will be very measured. Oh, yes. As always. Moving over to AEW and Tony Khan.
06:18Obviously, Double or Nothing is this weekend, so we've had the Tony Khan press, the AEW press conference
06:23thing leading into it. And Tony Khan's been saying some stuff, basically. He has. Basically talking,
06:28he was asked about the profitability of AEW, as it stands currently. He didn't answer directly the
06:35question about profitability, but he did talk about revenue, saying that this is the, like,
06:40highest the revenue has ever been for AEW. It's the strongest financial outlook that they've ever
06:46had for the company. And he's going to continue to reinvest in the business, develop new platforms,
06:50open up new territories to grow the company in future. So maybe suggesting not quite profitable,
06:56but potentially because he's reinvesting everything back in the company to sort of grow new opportunities
07:02and sort of find some other areas for growth within the company. He's talking about, yeah,
07:08like taking big swings, isn't he? Yeah, that makes sense. He talks about launching new projects and
07:12some international developments that will require investment that he thinks are very smart moves,
07:17in his own words. Very humble guy. Very smart. And that he's going to double down on future
07:24investment within the company and ended it basically by saying that AEW will be around for a very,
07:29very long time. And this is kind of funny because it's coming from, is it like a week ago or
07:34two
07:34weeks ago that Meltzer was like, oh, they're going to struggle with their Paramount Skydance Warner
07:39merger. People... And if they lose their TV deal, then he, like, basically,
07:43Meltzer was predicting the end of AEW through this merger. Well, in fairness, he said it was people in
07:48WWE are saying this. Yes, yes, yes. And Meltzer kind of put it out there into the world. He did,
07:53yeah. But, I mean, look, shocker, a man on a press conference says the company is doing well,
07:59right? Yeah. But also, he's not exactly speaking like a guy who's in trouble there, right? No.
08:04Talking about making international moves, taking big swings. Reinvestment in the company. Yeah.
08:09Obviously, the Cullen family has more money than you could ever hope for. They tried to buy WWE,
08:14it came out recently. They'll be fine regardless. They're all right. Obviously, the TV rights deal
08:18is the biggest part of this revenue stream by quite a long way. So, if they did lose that,
08:22it would be the need to find something. I mean, dreadful. It would be dreadful. Um,
08:27but yeah, it feels like he feels quite safe in his position and they're going to be around for a
08:31while.
08:31I feel like there's a big core on the internet whose life is, uh, mostly on Twitter,
08:38not really on YouTube, to be fair, uh, whose life is centered around praying for this man's demise.
08:43Yeah. Oh, he's really done is book a wrestling show. It's a bit wild.
08:47It is. Uh, but look, if you're AEW hardcore,
08:49what he's really done is give loads of people some jobs.
08:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. What a bastard.
08:53He employs 300 people. That prick. How dare he? Uh, and yeah, look, he has,
08:58everyone has their flaws, obviously. And, uh, AEW, you don't have to like the show. It's subjective.
09:05Everything in life is subjective, man. Like, well, some things are not. I think like crime is bad,
09:10for example. Uh, but when it comes to art, right, it's, it's entirely in the eye of the beholder.
09:15I think that, uh, he probably has reasons for swerving the profitability part of that. He doesn't
09:22want it. It's not a publicly traded company. He doesn't have to come out and yeah, we made,
09:26we made $200 million or whatever. Uh, but look, the TV deal's worth $185 million a year.
09:31Yeah, he's doing all right. Exactly. And, and like, sometimes I always think it's funny when
09:36you say, ah, yeah, but they pay Mercedes $30 million a year or something. It's like,
09:40she's not LeBron James. I love her, but come on, what are we doing here? Uh, so yeah, like,
09:47AEW's fine is the core message. Yeah. You can just-
09:50Regardless of what you think of the company, wrestling is better with it.
09:53Yeah. A hundred percent is.
09:55Gosh, we, we, we had what, how many years of a monopoly? 18 years?
09:58And it was not good.
09:59Dark, in the words of Coal Chamber, that was dark days. So, it did make me loco as well, so.
10:06Oh, Coal.
10:06Look at you go.
10:07Yeah, Coal Chamber, man.
10:08New Coal Chamber guy.
10:09Another song, they had Shock the Monkey or something like that.
10:12Yeah, right.
10:12That had Aussie on it, I believe. So, shoutouts Coal Chamber. What are they up to these days?
10:17I think Dez is in Devil Driver, so there you go. Nice. Anyway, let's talk about WWE ID. Yeah,
10:25that is still a thing, by the way. Oh yeah.
10:27New report come out from Body Slam, Cassidy Haynes, stating, and I'm just going to read,
10:33the whole thing's very short, I'm just going to read it to you.
10:35Sources have revealed to BodySlam.net that independent wrestlers who have been signed by WWE for a WWE ID
10:41contract will no longer be able to use their indie names. Going forward, they will have to use their WWE
10:46ID
10:47names for all upcoming appearances. They have some examples here. I think the biggest name on here
10:51is Starboy Charlie. Starborg, I almost said, who now is Chaz Starboy Hall.
10:59Starboy Charlie is a much better name than that. Chaz Hall. Chaz Hall.
11:03I'm Chaz Hall. He sounds like a telephone engineer or something.
11:07So, the core thing here is it's obviously restrictive of ID people.
11:11An ID is seen as this pathway into WWE. You sign an ID contract, you might end up on some
11:17ID showcases,
11:18you might end up on LFG, or Evolve, or NXT, and then it's like a whole eight-tier passage to
11:26the
11:26main roster, theoretically. It's your chance to get WWE eyes on you just by doing this normal work.
11:32This is it. In theory.
11:34Yeah, well, it's a big theory because a lot of people have drifted out of it already.
11:39I feel like in this situation, this is very, very restrictive because you're still going out there
11:48and trying to make a name on the indies while also under this thing. So, if you are unable to
11:52use the
11:52name that made you famous on the indies in the first place, that is an immediate branding disadvantage
11:57for somebody. Now, if you're a wrestler, go out and make your own decisions based on your career
12:02and what's best for you. I'm not judging that. But it's a bit one-sided, this, isn't it?
12:06Yeah, it does feel like it. And it's one of those where they've dabbled with all these different,
12:12how do we control the indies? Before WID is just the latest version of it, of them buying Evolve,
12:18of NXT UK, of all these different things where they're just kind of like, what is the feeder system
12:24and how do we own it?
12:25Yeah, basically.
12:26How do we make that ours?
12:27But the whole idea of the independence is that you make a name for yourself
12:31and then you're booked in your local area and then because you made a name for yourself there
12:35you get to widen that scope and then widen that scope and widen that scope and eventually you get
12:39to work in different places and sort of build a bit of a following and sell some merch.
12:43Like, merch is by far the biggest part of an independent wrestler's income.
12:47This is it.
12:48If you can't own your own name, can you even sell merch on it?
12:53This is it.
12:53And if you've lessened your name that you've already built up by taking a new name that you
12:57can't sell merch on? Like, what's going on?
12:59And then there's the side of it to where if you want to keep using your name when you go
13:03into WWE,
13:04it's usually a case that they own the name and then that means when you come out, that's a problem
13:09because they own that and you can't use it anymore. It's like, they can't really win.
13:14There's a lot of power imbalances between wrestling promotions and the independent contractors that
13:20they utilize. So we're always on the kind of pro-labor side of things, I feel, on this channel.
13:26And this to me just seems a bit restrictive and I don't like it. Gosh darn it.
13:31There you go.
13:31So I'm going to talk about it on a news video. That'll change it.
13:36That will change it. Don't forget to watch this and go, hang on a minute.
13:39Oh, the bald guy.
13:40Maybe our ways are wrong.
13:41Yeah, the bald guy.
13:42Maybe we should let people unionize. That'll be fine.
13:44The second bald guy from what culture doesn't like it? Oh no. Anyway.
13:48Absolutely. Unionize wrestling.
13:50Yep. There you go.
13:52That's the message. We're moving back over to Tony Khan again on his press conference ways.
13:57Talking about Mick Foley this time. Obviously, Mick Foley announced on his social media that he was
14:02all elite and then they announced that he's going to be on the Double or Nothing pre-show hosting that
14:06with Rene Paquette, which I think those as a duo on a hosting thing will be absolutely great.
14:11They're going to have bananas chemistry.
14:12It's going to be really, really good.
14:14But so, Tony was talking about how thrilled he is, obviously,
14:18to bring Mick Foley in, saying that he's going to bring insight backstage and to the broadcast
14:22itself. And basically saying how great he is, how much he's looking forward to having
14:27him, how him and Rene are friends and it's going to be great to have them on the TV.
14:32And then he was talking about whether Mick Foley is ever going to wrestle in AEW.
14:36And his response was basically, I can't speak for Mick as to whether he'd want to wrestle,
14:40but if he ever does, I would love for it to be in AEW.
14:44He went on to say that he doesn't want to put him in a situation in which he feels uncomfortable,
14:49obviously, or pressured into wanting to get back into the ring or anything like that.
14:52He would only ask him if he feels up to the physical demand.
14:56Yeah.
14:57And Mick Foley has obviously flirted with this quite recently.
15:00A couple of years ago, he was kind of trying to make a push for a big,
15:05like one last match, like independent show.
15:08Yeah.
15:09And there was like rumours about who it was going to be, like Moxie or something,
15:12but it turns out he's speaking to MJF.
15:15Yes.
15:15About having a last match with MJF, like maybe a GCW show or something like that.
15:19So Mick Foley feels like he wants this, but at that time,
15:24the Doctor's very much advised against it.
15:26Yes.
15:27And he ended up wisely probably following the Doctor's orders and not going ahead with it
15:32because at the time he wanted to use it as like, A, it's like a big build to a final
15:36match,
15:36but also like, let's use this as an excuse to get healthy again.
15:40Yeah.
15:40Like get in shape, like lose some weight.
15:42And like, like, if you've got a goal in mind,
15:44it's easier to put all that effort in to get there.
15:48So it's definitely at the back of Mick Foley's mind.
15:50But health, he has not been kind to his body over the years, let's say.
15:57And you really, really, like at that stage of life, you really need to put your health first.
16:00Absolutely.
16:01So maybe it isn't the wisest decision as much as I would personally love, love to see it.
16:06Yes.
16:06This is it, isn't it?
16:07I think ultimately it will be his Doctor's decision if this ever happens.
16:12I'm sure Mick constantly has the itch to do it because he's a wrestler.
16:17Yes.
16:17That's how wrestlers generally work.
16:20So I'm pretty sure he is absolutely jonesing to do something,
16:24but he will ultimately go with what the pros tell him.
16:28And he'd obviously need to be cleared and stuff like that as well.
16:32So he probably has one of the most like battered wrestling bodies of all time.
16:38It's not just from like the accumulation of damage, but, you know,
16:41the various Hell in a Cell bumps and, you know, and other bits and pieces.
16:46And the challenges with weight and things,
16:48it's just putting more pressure on hips and knees and backs.
16:51Of course.
16:51Joints.
16:52It's troublesome.
16:53Yeah.
16:53It's troublesome.
16:54Yeah.
16:54And he did, however, take a bump in that Invisible Man.
16:59He did.
16:59It's not that much.
17:00He took a punch from the Invisible Man.
17:01He went straight down.
17:02He did.
17:02He looked like he was moving better than he has done in the past.
17:05He was testing the waters.
17:07For sure.
17:07I love seeing Mick Foley because Mick Foley is,
17:10it's not just because he's like so beloved and like,
17:12he was like right there in my childhood, right?
17:15But it's also just because he seems like such a nice man.
17:20And you never really,
17:21you don't really see him as much as like,
17:23you see Shawn Michaels of The Undertaker, right?
17:25Yeah.
17:26He's not,
17:26usually when WWE brought him out,
17:28it was for someone rubbish like the 24-7 title.
17:30It was just for any terrible belt reveal.
17:32Yeah.
17:32It's like, ah, Mick Foley will deal with it.
17:34It'll be fine.
17:35Everyone loves Mick.
17:36They won't boo this.
17:36They won't boo this.
17:37So I'm really looking forward to seeing him back in wrestling.
17:40I will watch the whole panel to just see what he does.
17:43Yeah.
17:43I hope he gives someone Mr. Socko.
17:45Yeah.
17:45We spitballed the idea of doing a one-night-only Commissioner Foley idea.
17:50Yeah.
17:50Like a special episode of Dynamite.
17:52That'd be fun.
17:52I'm amazed that WWE never revisited the Commissioner Foley gimmick.
17:55We were talking about this just the other day.
17:58It was such a short run of like six months or whatever it was,
18:01but like so many incredible moments came out of that
18:03and how much he helped people with like promos
18:06and just getting characters over in the middle.
18:07That was absolutely incredible.
18:08Bring the gabble back.
18:09Bring that back for one night.
18:10Weird office.
18:11I think he'd be great as like a manager or something.
18:14Oh, yeah.
18:14And I think like in terms of just backstage,
18:17a wealth of experience, obviously,
18:20and like just using him in like promo classes
18:23or like how to build match structure and things like that,
18:26I think he would be absolutely incredible for.
18:28He absolutely has to interact with Darby Allin on air somehow.
18:31Like you have to do that.
18:34Yes, he does.
18:34But in general, since its inception,
18:37AEW has done a really good job of looking after its legends
18:40and like the geezers, the people who made this.
18:44Sting is obviously the optimal example,
18:46but like I've really enjoyed things like Tully Blanchard having a match
18:50and like DDP coming out of the abyss and, you know,
18:53and having his, I think it was a tag with the butcher and the blades.
18:57It's just, it's nice to see like wrestling,
19:00putting a gold watch around the wrist of the legends of the game.
19:04Yeah.
19:04And I like it when we treat these people with reverence,
19:07because for a long time,
19:08Vince McMahon did not treat these people with reverence,
19:11but they deserve it.
19:12They gave their blood, their sweat, and their tears for this business,
19:17and we should respect that.
19:18Hell yeah.
19:19Anyway, I respect you, you respect yourself more importantly,
19:22and have a nice week.
19:24It's lovely outside.
19:25Go ahead and get an ice cream, man.
19:26Just enjoy life and don't have nightmares.
19:28Goodbye.
