00:00so i think every now and then we do just need to take a step back from pro wrestling remember
00:03that
00:04it is really really hard how many times you see something go awry in a match and you get somebody
00:08shouting out well what a botch that was wasn't a botch somebody just made a mistake because again
00:12wrestling is really hard it's also totally brutal on your body as well which is why sometimes
00:17wrestlers do just have to go away or to tighten this video their careers brutally fade away
00:22because they don't have enough left in the tank to have a retirement match that absolutely sucks
00:26as well because look at what we did with sting in aw or even john cena in wwe i know
00:31that was a mixed
00:31bag but just seeing him go out on his own special show made you feel warm and fuzzy in your
00:36tumble
00:36down so let's make sure we go through eight specific wrestlers here and give them their
00:40to tell you my friends they were absolutely awesome number eight yoko zuna so yoko zuna is
00:45one of the best professional wrestlers that we do not talk about enough today if you're not aware of
00:50he you can see him on the screen right now and even though he was a gargantuan man he moved
00:54around like
00:55a cat one day the undertaker saw him and went to vince mann and said uh excuse me boss i
00:59want to
00:59work with that guy and this is the undertaker being the undertaker he ain't just going to ask
01:03that for anybody given how the wwf was in the mid 90s there are three specific things people do
01:08remember yokes for which of course is the awful end to wrestlemania 9 and when he got slammed by lex
01:13luger when we were trying to make sure that lex luger became the new hulk hogan yes that was as
01:18kind
01:18as bad as it sounded sadly the third one of these though that always does the rounds including
01:22the yoko zuna documentary that the ww themselves produced he also struggled with his weight at as
01:27heavy as he was reported to be 660 pounds or 300 kilograms from my european friends and his body
01:33had become so immobilized by that point eventually his body started to break down there's also another
01:37story where vader supposedly broke zunes leg and due to his size it took a forklift to remove his
01:43body from the ring because a stretcher couldn't do the job it actually gets even more sad because this
01:47was not a legitimate injury instead it was an angle because the wwf had sat down with yoko zuna
01:52and said to him we are going to give you some time off because we desperately need you to lose
01:56some
01:56weight now yoko was able to do this because he dropped over 100 pounds in 1996 which is super
02:01impressive but for whatever reason it did not convince officials that in 1998 he got let go of
02:06course what happened after this is the usual standard affair for a pro wrestler in the late 90s yoko
02:11zuna went back to the indie scene which at that time was not like it was today it was pretty
02:15hard to make
02:16any money it all led to his tragic passing on the 23rd of october 2000 while on a tour of
02:20the united
02:20kingdom doing these shows and the worst part is he was just 34 years ago you have to imagine if
02:25he
02:25was able to keep his weight down he would have gone on to become even better still believe you
02:30me my friends that is a massive compliment go and put on a yoko zuna match today promise you you
02:34will
02:34be impressed number seven bobby fish the undisputed era was for a spell the undisputed hottest thing in
02:40pro wrestling that's the best way to summarize this and what happened to bobby fish is to go through
02:44the entire faction to see what happened since departing wwe adam cole when he debuted at aew all
02:49out 2021 was on top of the world and once again reminding you why he was one of the best
02:54wrestlers
02:54on the planet when sadly he suffered some concussion issues and a neck injury and as of me talking to
02:59you we still don't know what's going to happen to his career but as always wrestling is the most
03:03important of the least important things but just hope that guy's okay kylo reilly also had to overcome
03:08extensive neck problems in much more jovial news he recently did return to aew as i am talking to you
03:13and he became a trio's champion in aw2 roderick strong was able to be the international title
03:18so that was good and really we need to put more respect on roddy's name he somehow gets better with
03:23age i mean when do you ever see another bad match and as for bobby fish well it all kind
03:28of did go
03:28weird after he joined all elite wrestling it made perfect sense why he would go there given his
03:32friends and jump ship as well but he only lasted 10 months under tony khan's employment there's also some
03:37sort of an issue with cm punk because one during an episode of collision bobby fish kicked out of the
03:42gts at
03:423.5 and he then went online well let's just say he had some horrible words to say about cm
03:47punk and
03:48it felt very one-sided since that as well though it kind of feels like fish has stepped away from
03:52wrestling because he's only wrestled 14 matches across 2025 and when we poked our noses into 2026
03:59i don't think he's wrestled at all now maybe he has just decided to quietly hang them up which is
04:03his right but given how hot he was when the undisputed era was running wild in nxt it was just
04:08a strange
04:08gold end really i think you would have gone out with more of a bang number six mick foley now
04:12it's
04:13important to say that if mick foley had it his way he would probably be retiring from pro wrestling
04:17right now in an angle with your john moxley or mdf the mixture has talked about this he has sat
04:22down
04:22had chats with both those guys and apparently they came up with one hell of a plan now we all
04:26know
04:26about his original retirement back in 2000 when triple h threw him through the hell in a cell when we
04:31needed a fourth guy for the wrestlemania main event so foley returned to tick that box you can't really
04:36blame him who the flub is going to turn down the wrestlemania main event then jump forward 20 or
04:41so years where it was reported that maybe just maybe mick foley was thinking about having his
04:45own farewell super show when he mentioned mgf when he mentioned john moxley and actually even
04:49mentioned matt cardona one of these guys could have done it now actually you can find even more
04:53rumors that john moxley and mick foley were gonna go at it at summerslam 2012 i'll let you google
04:58that when it was maxwell jacob freeman who came to the front because yeah both those dudes have
05:02talked about it they had a secret meeting in long island apparently they came up with the
05:06it feels like foley was gonna pull the trigger on this too because he did start training when it
05:10all did fall down because he suffered a concussion and realized man i don't think i could do this
05:15anymore it's not worth my health it's not worth my time it's not worth what i may put my family
05:19through
05:20so it does mean that mick foley's actual last match the six minutes he spent at the 2012 royal rumble
05:24and let me tell you this if a time angle should be based on your contribution to the business or
05:30how
05:30great you were then the former cactus jack should have 42 799 matches because good grief is that guy
05:36underrated some idiots like to go he just do his body off stuff no he doesn't that man told
05:41narratives with his physique and good grief did he understand pro wrestling he also paid for it too
05:46with the injuries and ailments he still does have today but mick foley is an underrated legend when
05:50you are an underrated legend would be nice if you did have a big send-off hopefully one day we
05:55can
05:55still have somewhat of a party number five china so china was finally and somewhat indirectly inducted
06:01into the ww hall of fame in 2019 as a member of degeneration x but when somebody asked triple
06:06h about solar induction well he had this to say i'm sure she will be in the hall of fame
06:10sometime on
06:11her own i think it's fitting she is in there with dx in the beginning could tell she started and
06:16i
06:16think it's what it should be now that is absolutely true because during degeneration x part one it would
06:21not have worked if it was just triple h and sean michaels because china added the secret sauce hard to
06:26get
06:29anything like the night wonder of the world sadly though there may be more to this though because
06:33when china did leave the wwf in 2001 well it was on super duper better terms it also came off
06:39the
06:39back of a bunch of chat due to her personal life given that she had been dating triple h who
06:43was
06:43now seeing stephanie mcmahon but after this it just felt like the rug was pulled out from under her feet
06:48because even though she tried to make inroads where it came to acting eventually she settled on
06:52pornography too and let's just say that didn't really help given that she was dealing with a lot of
06:56personal issues too but for all that though she was actually able to wrestle some matches for new
07:00japan in 2002 and made a one-off appearance in 2011 for tna but sadly she tragically died in 2016
07:06at
07:07the tender age of just 46. what really get you is that china never got her second run in the
07:11wwe
07:12and you always kind of felt like it was gonna happen now many outlets have reported maybe the
07:16issue did come from the fact she did do pornography but that is not the point if anybody deserved a
07:21big
07:21old send off what they had done for women's wrestling and women in wrestling it was china
07:26and the fact that it all ended on upsetting notes it's just not right man especially because this
07:30happens to a lot of wrestlers we got the changes number four kane so this one really does come down
07:35to his tenure in the business because kane or the big red machine debuted in 1997 and basically went all
07:41the way through to 2021 and even after that he kept popping up here and there going oh hi you
07:46remember
07:46me my name is kane i mean he had come a long way from isaac yankum which was a wrestling
07:50dentist and
07:51it's not like the real life glenn jacobs doesn't have stuff to do after retirement because he did
07:55get into politics and no we're not going to talk about that here when you do go back to the
07:58character
07:59it kind of feels like he should have got a send off like the undertaker because let's not forget they
08:03were the brothers of destruction and yeah who the flub has a 20 plus career in the wwe the answer
08:08is few
08:09and far between so we have a mc foley situation here because the last time we saw him properly was
08:13a
08:13short stint in the 2021 royal rumble that just seems like such a strange way to go off into
08:17the sunset when you had such an impact on the business like kane did in the late 90s it feels
08:22like this was the plan as well though because kane was inducted into the hall of fame that year
08:26so it was a one-two punch these days we definitely don't need to see him come back because we've
08:30just
08:30moved on it doesn't seem to be bothering him though so i guess it's not a problem but given how
08:34long
08:35he was with the company one day was kind of there one day kind of what looks number three bob
08:39backland to the tail end of roman reigns 1316 revolutionary title reign as undisputed wwe
08:46champion michael cole would often tell us there's only four historical figures who had a world title
08:51reign longer than roman's in ascending order it was pedro morales hulk hogan bob backland bruno
08:56sammartino some people are always surprised to hear that backland is in that list but i tell you my
09:00friends he was the big hero the big baby face before we got to hulkamania i mean his status as
09:05the top
09:06guy never changed the company in the way that hulk hogan did but bob was a guy who would go
09:10on the
09:10road and work with everybody including bastion bugger in fact you can look it up now go find the
09:14record books on one night he actually did the job he's basically chosen to be the next big guy after
09:19bruno sammartino at x's stage left too so it's kind of crazy that in general wwe doesn't sing his
09:25praises higher i mean i guess you could say he was more of a vincent man senior guy but he
09:29was still the
09:29guy sometimes you don't even see him in video packages at all and the last noble thing backland did for
09:34wwe was act as darren young's life coach between 2016 and 2017 because by this stage bob was nuts
09:41somehow he made it work the equivalent to this i suppose would be getting to 2050 and roman reigns
09:47being treated like a nothing because yes once again bob backton was placed at the top of the card and
09:51he
09:52had one hell of a title run and you get to the modern day it's almost like we forgot number
09:56two randy
09:57savage so the big sadness when it comes to macho man randy savage is that he never got that second
10:01run
10:02in the wwe there are a bunch of stories out there and i would take the majority of them with
10:06a pinch
10:07of salt but for whatever reason after he had left the world wrestling federation in 1994
10:11vincent man decided nope we are never gonna hire the macho man back he stood by his word it quite
10:17literally never happened brandy savage of course had to end his career somewhere though and actually
10:21it came down in tna this was four years after he had exited wcw when he was brought out as
10:26a surprise
10:26to close out victory road in 2004. he was then booked alongside aj styles and jeff hardy in the
10:32main event of turning point the following month where they were going to defeat the kings of
10:35wrestling which was jeff jarrett kevin nash and scott hall now even though it was 2004 most people did
10:40see this as a massive match because it was an all-star affair sadly for whatever reason randy savage just
10:46didn't feel like randy savage i mean gone with the trademark mannerisms the colorful attire and he didn't
10:51even do a diving elbow drop instead there was a guy in the ring who just looked like he had
10:55no
10:55confidence at all i love the match about randy savage i think he's one of the best wrestlers
10:59ever just a little bit sad really the biggest thing he did around this time too was appear in
11:03the first spider-man movie but if anybody deserved a big send-off it was randy savage of course he
11:08did
11:09eventually get inducted into the ww hall of fame but this was after he too had tragically passed away
11:13and that is just not right i'm sure if you did grow up in the hulk hogan era it was
11:17always the hulk
11:18star or macho man we could be way better by him number one under the giant so sometimes being a
11:24wrestling fan can be just a little bit depressing we all have our heroes in the industry and if you
11:28do watch for long enough you witness the gradual decline in their health and no wrestler better
11:32exemplifies that than andre the giant if you do not know the reason andre was so tall is because
11:37he suffered from gigantism and at one point even tipped the scales at 520 pounds and made him the
11:43biggest attraction wwe had during the 80s he was a major hit with audiences of that era before he did
11:48his
11:48heel turn and let's not forget he was dubbed the eighth wonder of the world but if you are wondering
11:53why china was the ninth you just fell down of course it all led to that wrestlemania 3 main event
11:57against
11:58hulk hogan and there's no other way to put it that was absolutely seismic and one of the most important
12:02matches in history the sad part though is that when modern audiences look this up they will see
12:06somebody that can't really move and that was not andre the giant when you find him in his peak years
12:11your jaw will hit the floor if this was a yokozula situation how could somebody be so big move around
12:17like it was nothing everybody also used to talk about the fact that andre was in so much pain
12:21and actually he continued wrestling until a month before his passing once again there he was just
12:26in constant discomfort hence why he was mostly using multi-man tag belts given that he was under
12:31the giant though people wanted him on the show he very sadly passed away from congestive heart failure
12:36in january 1993 aged just 46 and once again it's andre the giant when he would be immortalized later
12:42that year as the first inductee into the newly minted ww hall of fame but we should have had a
12:47week of tribute shows for this guy because really without under the giant you probably don't have
12:52the world wrestling federation nobody other wrestlers who deserved a much better send-off
12:56that they did get make sure you let us know in the comments below before you like the video share
