00:16Siamo arrivati in Maranello?
00:20Sì!
00:33Come ti senti a venire in Italia?
00:35Mi piace!
01:22Do they ever stop you in the streets?
01:24Or are you walking?
01:26I mean, obviously, if we go out in normal clothes
01:30it's more Giovinazzi that they recognise
01:33but if we go like this, yes,
01:35then sometimes they ask for pictures and stuff
01:37and also, when they know we are on the sim
01:41they are also sometimes waiting outside
01:43Of course, it's not like when Luis and Charles are here
01:47but we start to see some people
01:53How is your Italian?
01:56It's not bad, I have a little Italian
01:59At least that
02:04This is a 12 Cilindri
02:08What's your favourite rally?
02:10I have this one at home, so I have to say this one
02:12Do you like a powerful W12?
02:15Yeah, what I like is, you know, it looks a bit like the old Daytona
02:20It's a normally aspirated engine and then the sound of the V12
02:23I think it's difficult to find something better than that
02:27Have you tried other race cars outside of the GK3 and the 499P?
02:32Yeah, I drove a 2002 Formula 1
02:37So I've tried a few, also a 99 Schumacher car
02:41So I've tried a few other race cars
02:45How was it?
02:47It was amazing, amazing
02:49Like the power and the grip you have there is incredible
02:53Then, I mean, now speaking the car is old
02:56But like when you drive it you don't feel that it's a 20 year old car
03:00It's incredible the technology and the abilities they had already 20 years ago in Formula 1
03:07When you started racing, have you ever dreamed about running in Formula 1?
03:12Or have you always thought about racing endurance?
03:16To be honest with you, I think most of drivers coming from karts and doing a few years in single
03:22seats
03:22The first dream is always to go in Formula 1
03:28I mean, for me it was always watching Michael, you know
03:32When he was with Ferrari winning and I wanted to do the same
03:37Okay
03:38But then I started endurance racing and I realized that it's of course very different
03:46But I mean, today the level is so high
03:49Ciao Yife
03:51The level is so high
03:55Wow
03:55Wow
03:57It's amazing
03:58It's amazing
03:58Yeah, it is
04:00No, the level is very high and I have to say
04:03My dream was always to race with Ferrari
04:06And yeah, Formula 1 of course is the pinnacle of motorsport
04:13But I think, I wouldn't call it the next best
04:17But the step under that I would say is work in a hypercar, you know
04:21So, I'm in a position and I'm in a place where I feel really proud to be and I'm very
04:26happy to be
04:27And hopefully, I will finish my career here
04:41Do you remember when you were offered the opportunity to race with the hypercar?
04:47Yeah, I mean, we all did quite a lot of testing, quite a lot of development
04:53So, it was nice to have the whole thing
04:57And then, of course, to be pointed out as one of the drivers was, of course, the peak
05:05I think it's been very interesting to be a part of the development
05:09Because a project like this is not something that comes overnight, you know
05:14We've spent so many hours on the scene, so many hours testing different stuff
05:19And then, you see the car rolling out for the first time is definitely special
05:23Yeah
05:31And you said you don't like speeding with that
05:34But we are still under the speed limit, it's just the wheelspin
05:40How is it racing in Le Mans? Also, when you are not in the car?
05:47Le Mans is special
05:48I mean, I think for us probably in terms of fan base and everything is always nice when we race
05:54in Italy with our car
05:56But outside of Italy, of course, Le Mans is the most iconic race in the end
06:03So, there you really feel the passion and the love for racing
06:10And I think for most of us, it's a long, more than a long race, it's a long week
06:20Because it's more like 10 days for us
06:23So, racing is actually becoming more and more the smallest part of it, you know
06:29So, it's about managing your energy and really finding time also to relax in between all the stuff we have
06:38to do
06:38I believe you also have bigger media duties
06:42Yeah, I know we always like to complain about this
06:48But in the end, it's a part of the job, you know
06:52We are there with the hypercar, so of course, it's
06:58And luckily, it's gathering more and more attention
07:02Because otherwise, if it was the other way around, it would be quite sad also
07:06So, of course, for us, we would prefer to just relax whenever we are not in the car
07:10But like I said, it's a part of the job to do the other duties as well
07:15And coming back to Le Mans, are you able to sleep when you are not driving?
07:20Or are you always thinking about what's happening on the track?
07:24You know, if you're in a good position, it's always difficult to sleep
07:27Because you always want to follow, then you hear the cars coming by every time
07:35And then at some point, it's suddenly more quiet, so you know there is something happening
07:40So then you want to make sure that it's not your car, so it's
07:43It's more than sleeping, I would call it resting
07:46Because sleeping is quite difficult
07:49Oi!
07:52Lupo!
07:53Was big, huh?
07:54I've never seen a wolf around here before
07:59What's the scariest thing that could happen to you when you are racing?
08:05I would say no brakes
08:09That's probably the most significant thing that can happen
08:14I don't really think about this kind of stuff to be honest
08:17Because nowadays the cars are so strong and so good
08:21I mean we see some quite big crashes now and then where people jump out of the cars
08:28Also your colleagues used to say that when you start thinking about possible consequences
08:35Yeah, sometimes it's
08:37I think it's also about not thinking too much
08:40Because for example in a race start if you start to think
08:43I have to go to the inside, I have to go to the outside
08:46Then you start to overthink and then you
08:49Sometimes it happens that you position yourself in the wrong place, you know
08:54Whereas if you just go with your instinct, it's more natural
08:57So I think it's the same for most of us
08:59We don't really think too much about what we do
09:02Also when you are overtaking the GTs which are much slower than the hypercarats
09:07Yeah, there is more by feeling and basically what you see and what you expect
09:13Then of course sometimes you have to brake, not to have contact
09:17But that's more because then they start to move a bit in a direction that you didn't really expect
09:29How did you become a fan of the sport?
09:36My dad and my grandfather, they used to race
09:39So my grandfather was in rally and my dad was on road
09:43Okay
09:44And I got a go-car when I was three years old
09:47So that's kind of how it happened
09:53So always on track, you never thought about a rally career like your granddad?
09:58No, I always liked the asphalt to be honest
10:01What's the thing you like the most about Maranello?
10:06The passion, the logo that we see in front of us now
10:09I think it's the only brand where you really feel like you are a part of something much bigger than
10:15yourself
10:16And you feel like you are a part of a family
10:20I mean, yes we race, there is big expectations from us
10:25But then at the same time we have a lot of trust from the people around
10:32So it automatically makes you feel more confident in what you do as well
10:37So I think we have a good mix of pressure and also a very close connection
10:44Between management, bosses, but even between the drivers
10:49I mean, even on the different cars
10:51I mean, we enjoy spending time together which I think is very important
10:55Because we see each other more than we see our families in the end
11:00So we have to get along
11:02You spend so many days out of home
11:05And about Maranello I think that also a good point is the food
11:10Of course, but now I'm so used to it, you know, so the food is not really a question
11:14I mean, we know that it's good because it's Italian
11:18What's your favorite Italian dish?
11:20Spaghetti, aglio, olio, pevroncino
11:22Very simple but I really love it
11:24Because the most common answers are pizza
11:27Yeah, yeah, no, no, no
11:28Aglio, olio, pevroncino is my favorite
11:31And it's been since karting like this
11:35I normally don't eat it during the race
11:39Or up to the race weekend, but it's always the
11:43It's always the dish I ask
11:44For example, now we race in spa
11:46I ask for a plate like this after the race
11:48Aglio, pevroncino
11:51That's a colleague
11:52Yeah, we just need to get this one for
11:55Yeah, yeah, sure mate
11:56Ciao James
11:57Ciao, ciao
12:08Do you have any ritual before entering the car?
12:11No, no, no, no, no, no
12:13I just go
12:15I know that there is quite a lot of
12:19Some people they like to put on one shoe
12:22Some people they even use different colors
12:26Have a good one mate
12:27You say it mate
12:28Ciao
12:30I don't have anything
12:33You're not superstitious
12:34No, I remember
12:37Sometimes I did it in karting
12:39And then I ended up in the gravel in T1
12:42So I stopped, you know
12:46People they do what they think works for them
12:49And for me, I mean
12:51It doesn't work so
12:52No, it's just that I'm not superstitious
12:55So I basically just go in the car and I drive
13:03Thank you, Niklas
13:05You're welcome
13:05Thank you very much
13:06I hope you will be able to enjoy your moment
13:08Thank you
13:09Maybe a repeat of 2024
13:13I hope so
13:14That would be ideal
