00:00All right, so the schedule came out.
00:01We're going to get to the Cavs coming up here at 640.
00:04I promise you that because J.B. Bickerstaff looks pretty weak.
00:07I got 7 and 10.
00:08I'm sorry.
00:09I said it again.
00:09I did the same exact thing last year.
00:11I only put 16 games together when I said the number, and I went, damn it.
00:14So I got 7 and 10.
00:15What do you got?
00:17I'm on 6, 6 and 11.
00:216 and 11.
00:216 and 11.
00:22Okay, why?
00:25So this is the – had it have been like one of the tougher schedules in the league,
00:29you would not have wanted me to come on the air today, most likely.
00:33Hayden Grove, our buddy, said 2 and 15.
00:35I go, you only see two wins on the schedule?
00:38Yeah, why did he have them so much worse than last year?
00:41I think he just wants Arch Manning really bad.
00:43Oh, okay.
00:43So I think he's kind of like hoping for it.
00:45I love Hayden.
00:47Yeah, but unless you wager on it, even the most negative of Browns fans,
00:52once we get to the good weather, the season's underway, you have your depth chart,
00:56I think it's hard to ever assume your team's only going to win two games.
01:00We're in a weird – we're in this weird spot.
01:02It's not even purgatory.
01:03It's just what this team should do.
01:06Because, like, there's teams, like, if your quarterback ain't good –
01:09like, I consider, like, we say purgatory all the time, and I'm like,
01:11if your quarterback – if you truly believe your quarterback can't get it done,
01:15but he's a franchise guy and you can't do anything about it,
01:19you're in purgatory.
01:21Like, hate to say it, fun guy, Phillip Rivers, Chargers fans,
01:26a lot of Chargers fans are like, this is purgatory.
01:28Like, he's good, but we can't get past Tom Brady.
01:32There's other – like, hate to say it, well, I'm going to say it, Trevor Lawrence.
01:36Trevor Lawrence is like, well, he's really good,
01:38but is he good enough to get us to some other level?
01:42Like, that is – that's possibly purgatory there.
01:44This, I think this is just a tug and pull, whatever it is,
01:47because I think there's people who heard it 7-10 and went,
01:51okay, hey, that's two better than last year.
01:53All right, fine.
01:54But I think there's some people who heard me say 7-10,
01:56well, they first heard me say 7-9 and go, Kenny, you messed it up.
01:59They heard me say 7-10, and then they thought,
02:02why do you cheer for this when all we're going to get is to the middle of the draft
02:06and we're not going to get the quarterback, Kenny?
02:07And to that I say, I'm telling you, I'm starting to just run with it,
02:12especially since Mina Kimes said it when I was on vacation.
02:14And I go, wait, wait, I said it.
02:17I said it a week ago.
02:17I said it before that.
02:18But Mina Kimes said it.
02:19I go, okay, so somebody else has either heard it or said it.
02:22So I'm not the crazy one.
02:24And Mina Kimes is very smart and not a crazy person.
02:27And so you guys could think I'm nuts, but you don't think Mina Kimes is nuts.
02:30So I'm going to go with that.
02:32And I go, hey, 7-10, they're not planning on losing.
02:36Everything they've done, you could say that you think that the players they draft –
02:39like I got some crazy tweets last night, social media reactions brought to you
02:43by Shive and Jewelers, Cleveland's premier jewelry store.
02:46I got some crazy stuff last night going, how could you say –
02:50and I'm not trying to talk tough and say the Browns are going to be great.
02:54I'm just pointing out that you can't tell me that they're not trying to win this year
02:58with everything that they've done.
02:59You could say you don't have faith in them, okay, but they're trying to win.
03:03They're not – in 2016, that was a fight.
03:07We know what they were trying to do.
03:09We really know what they were trying to do even in 2017.
03:12This is not it.
03:13This is not it for this team.
03:15So at 7-10, I told you my crazy theory is that they're going to try to build around
03:21because I'm telling you, you go 2-15 and Todd Munkin's getting fired
03:24and Trey and Miles getting – all these guys look terrible
03:27and these guys look like bad draft picks.
03:29Yeah, you might get it naturally, but you might be 2-15 and I'm telling you,
03:34that family might just decide, hey, thanks but no thanks.
03:37Nah, we're not doing this.
03:41We've done it with Eli.
03:43We technically did it with Peyton Manning,
03:45even though nobody really wants to talk about that.
03:48We're not going to be – we might all be friends, but this ain't going to happen.
03:53So I think that they're thinking –
03:55See, now if you take Sorsby in the supplemental draft,
03:57you don't have to worry about any of this conversation.
03:59Damn it, now you know what you got there.
04:00Now, Kenny, meanwhile, they do start the season playing six of nine on the road.
04:06Yeah.
04:07We're one of the younger teams, at least in our two deep,
04:11we will be one of the youngest teams in the NFL.
04:13Does that sound off any alarms that, given their quarterback situation,
04:19all the youth, and you go on the road as much as you do,
04:22and then you end up backloading your home games when the weather's bad?
04:29So does that change – is that something that would cause you to say,
04:33oh, I had seven and ten, maybe they're six and eleven?
04:36Well, I was told last year during all the lawsuits that it's a home field advantage.
04:40The weather's a home field advantage for us.
04:42So get ready to rake it in at the end of the year.
04:46And that's pretty crazy because they are at home November 15th.
04:51Then they have the bye.
04:53Is that going through the math?
04:55Okay, so they are home from November 15th until December 6th.
05:05Okay.
05:05No, December 13th.
05:07December 13th, I'm sorry, yes.
05:08November 15th through December 13th.
05:10So five straight weeks because one of them's a bye.
05:12Yeah.
05:13That's unheard of.
05:14It's a weird schedule.
05:16It's bizarre in that regard, but then it's totally normal with the Browns
05:20in that there is only one primetime game,
05:24and because they don't play the Wests, they're just 1 o'clock all year.
05:29Does that bother you?
05:30Which is my dream come true.
05:31Well, I got a lot of people.
05:33It was funny to hear Joey.
05:35Joey was fine with 1 o'clock.
05:37Joey came in here, he was adjusting the cameras
05:39because we got Daryl coming on at 8.20 this morning.
05:41We got Jason Lloyd coming on at 9 because, obviously, we got to get ready.
05:44We got to talk about the Browns, and obviously, we got to get ready
05:46for the Cavs tonight because game six is tonight here in downtown Cleveland.
05:49The prices have jumped up.
05:50We'll give you a market watch later on.
05:53However, I was surprised to hear a young man.
05:56I think Joey's 23 or 22.
05:58Joey was like, I'm fine with 1 o'clock.
06:00Go ahead.
06:01Do it at 1 o'clock.
06:01That's fine.
06:02I know it seems like the NFL is telling you.
06:04It's why I'm like, it's hard to play the schedule game, guys,
06:07when the NFL is clear.
06:08You're like, yeah, you really don't have any business playing the schedule game.
06:11Okay.
06:12But I'm fine with them going out and earning it because this is the biggest
06:17champion's pose maybe you've ever had over me emotionally.
06:19Emotionally.
06:20Is you kept bringing up that you're going to regret primetime games,
06:25regret primetime games.
06:27Go look at Patriots fans.
06:28They don't play any games at 1 o'clock.
06:30Everything's in primetime.
06:32This was back during the Brady years.
06:33And I yelled and screamed, and then we played 2019,
06:35and it seemed like there was a primetime game every week,
06:38and we were terrible that year.
06:39And it was like going to the chair every single week.
06:42Because not only did you think you were going to lose,
06:44you had to wait all day to get through it.
06:46And it was awful.
06:47And then you'd be humiliated because the talking heads would be talking about you.
06:51And then the next day, because you were the only thing playing,
06:54all the talking heads would – you're not in that place right now.
06:57You're just not in that place.
06:59When the national talking heads talk about you, let's call it what it is.
07:03You have either Shador Sanders, which we're going to mention here coming up here in a bit,
07:07because I thought Daryl had a very interesting point I want to get to at 623.
07:11They're either talking about Shador, but they're really talking about trading miles.
07:14And those are conversations that the one conversation with Shador,
07:18I think some people go crazy about.
07:21Or if you just look at it and go, yeah, I want Shador to play.
07:23I don't know if he's going to start because you've got one guy who's a veteran.
07:26People can't look at it that way.
07:27So that goes off the rails.
07:29And then the other conversation is a conversation I don't want to have
07:31because it is uncomfortable and it torpedoes everything for this year.
07:36And you have a guy who we just had in studio for 40 minutes
07:39telling us great stories and great off the air.
07:42And I would actually feel bad for him even though he's getting paid a boatload of money
07:46because it's like, okay, they just torpedoed your maybe one and only season as an NFL head coach.
07:50And I'd feel terrible about that.
07:51So those are conversations – I'll have the Shador conversation.
07:55The miles conversation means something so much more and so much deeper
08:00to what the fabric of the organization is.
08:02So you don't want to have those conversations, guys.
08:04You guys don't like it when we talk about trading miles.
08:07You don't like any of that.
08:09You either fight about doing it, fight about not,
08:11or you really hate having the conversation.
08:12I think everybody agrees with that.
08:14So what's the point of doing that?
08:15So just play the games at one.
08:17And if you win – if you win eight games, nine games, say you go nine and eight,
08:22and one of your QBs ends up being good.
08:24Say Shador ends up being good.
08:25Guys, you're going to have primetime games falling out of your pockets next year.
08:29Okay, you got to earn it.
08:30That's fine.
08:31I'm fine with earning it.
08:32It's all right.
08:33Because when we did it in 2019, and it seemed like it was like 7-8-1 coming off of
08:382018,
08:39maybe this is going to be fun.
08:40It was a nightmare.
08:41It was an absolute nightmare that season.
08:43All right.
08:43Already they are either seven or seven-and-a-half point underdogs in the opener at Jacksonville.
08:49To remind people, Jacksonville went 13-4 last year.
08:51Yeah.
08:52And lost to the Bills in the playoffs.
08:53It was a very competitive game.
08:56Then they are at Tampa Bay.
08:57They will be underdogs again, correct?
08:59Yeah.
09:00Then Carolina at home, finally kicking off their home slate,
09:04the latest I can ever remember since 99, them having their first home game,
09:09not until the end of September, against the Carolina Panthers.
09:13Carolina was 8-9 last year.
09:15We are playing the scheduled game, the scheduled damn game right now.
09:18Will we be underdogs again?
09:20I think we will.
09:23What do you want me to tell you?
09:25Are you looking for a game we're going to be favored in?
09:27Yes.
09:27Then the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night at home,
09:31they will likely be underdogs again.
09:33Probably underdogs.
09:33You don't think it depends on who the quarterback is for the Steelers?
09:36Oh, I'm assuming it's Aaron Rodgers now.
09:38Aren't you assuming it's Aaron Rodgers, John?
09:39No, not until he signs.
09:41No, it's Aaron Rodgers.
09:42He's crazy.
09:43Okay.
09:44Well, I mean, if it's not Aaron Rodgers.
09:45Grow up.
09:46It's going to be Aaron Rodgers.
09:47Yeah.
09:48It would be great if he does it,
09:49and then you could play that into infinity if you want to.
09:51And then finally, we are at the Jets.
09:54October 11th, that would be the one you'd circle
09:56as the first game they'd be favorites.
09:58Okay.
09:58That's fine.
09:59And that's only if you do anything in the first few weeks.
10:01Guys, they won five games last year.
10:02Like, part of this, you just kind of got to groan and go,
10:06yeah, it is what it is, guys.
10:08You don't like to do that.
10:10You have to provide something more.
10:11I get that.
10:12But it is what it is.
10:13You were not a very good football team over the last two years.
10:16They don't think much of your quarterback situation.
10:19In so many ways, man, like, you don't –
10:23I do have questions about the offensive line,
10:26even though they got to be better.
10:27But we'll see.
10:29I think these are good players.
10:30I'm just worried if the sum of all the parts are going to work together.
10:33I have a lot of faith in George Warhop.
10:36But if it doesn't work, like, this is going to be a disaster,
10:39a disaster season.
10:41Like, there's times where, like, your bottom line,
10:43like the Steelers' bottom line is eight wins, right?
10:45That seems to be where their baseline is.
10:47Now, that was under Mike Tomlin.
10:48That was under Mike Tomlin.
10:48Maybe that's out the window now.
10:49So maybe their baseline is lower.
10:51But historically, their baseline has been nine wins, I should say,
10:54because they've always been over 500 or 500.
10:56So in the 17-game era, nine wins.
10:58So baseline's around 500.
11:00For us, our baseline is one win.
11:02So our baseline could be an absolute disaster season going forward.
11:06Well, they're not going to risk putting us against –
11:09and by the way, look at the opponents you're playing.
11:11You're not playing great opponents.
11:12Your schedule isn't that great.
11:14I'm sorry, is the Raiders' game against the Browns on November 29th,
11:18is that sexy to anybody?
11:20Is that Mendoza's first game as quarterback?
11:22I think he'll probably start much earlier than that.
11:25I mean, where are the sexy games, man?
11:28At Tennessee?
11:29Tennessee is probably getting off the mat,
11:31but I don't think Tennessee is a really provocative Super Bowl contender.
11:36You can't even call it the Russini-Vrabel Bowl because, you know, neither are there now.
11:46It is not 945.
11:48Can you get their hotel suite when you stay there on Broadway?
11:51Did you hear Albert Breer about that yesterday?
11:53What?
11:54He said he expects Mike Vrabel to coach this year.
11:56Champions pose.
11:57And then I heard more of Albert Breer, and then I'm like, I don't know.
12:02You want him to coach Ohio State.
12:04You're rooting for this to get uglier.
12:06You are rooting for it to get uglier.
12:07Two seconds later, Albert Breer's like, well, unless there's more to come out.
12:11There's been more to come out every day of the week.
12:14You want more to come out now?
12:16Oh, you want?
12:18They were spotted in line together at a Costco in 1998.
12:22Like, come on, guys.
12:23You want DNA testing?
12:25Is that what you want, Kenny?
12:25No, I'm not doing that.
12:27Is Maury Povich still alive?
12:30Well, I've already seen.
12:31I know he's retired, right?
12:33You've already seen the AI videos of that.
12:34Oh, boy.
12:35Okay.
12:35Well, we're in the gutter.
12:37All right.
12:382-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
12:40Did you have a favorite schedule release video?
12:43Yeah, the Tennessee Titans.
