00:00tremendously. He's improving his operation, his pre-snap, post-snap, his eyes and his feet working
00:07in conjunction, being able to check the ball down and getting it out of his hands. He's such a
00:15playmaker that that's hard for him. For a guy that is always looking to make a play super
00:22competitive, that is a win. Try to get super competitive quarterbacks to understand that

00:34that over time he'll continue to build on.

00:58full helping of Deshaun Watson. Unexpected, by the way. I know you have a message for

01:15Shador's favor? Like Monday, tomorrow, it was supposed to be Deshaun's day. And then Tuesday,
01:22Shador, if that's how the alternations continued. Is there a world now where Munkin could want
01:28to see Shador with that personnel? And it's the switcheroo. You mean with the starters?
01:33Yeah. Can we just stop calling it the personnel?
01:35The starters. Where, ok, Monday, it was supposed to be... There's nothing special about the
01:39personnel that was on the field yesterday, other than they were the starters. The ones.
01:45Is there a world where... Ok, they didn't spend the whole practice running a bunch of
01:48trick plays, ok? Although we did find out earlier in camp, Todd Munkin also a fan of
01:55the end around, which I'm not. I just, I'm not a fan of the end. I'm saving my judgment
02:02because Todd Munkin has a couple fast guys that I actually might not mind if it's executed
02:07correctly. We got a little bit of an end around yesterday. Yeah. Very unexpectedly. Is there a
02:12world that another end around could come though? Like that Shador could stack two straight days with the
02:17ones and then we could go, ok, now it's Shador's job and the competition's over. Shador's your QB1.
02:22It's not Deshaun. The issue within this quarterback competition has nothing to do with the completion
02:29percentage or the interceptions. Oh, you're telling me the tracker doesn't matter? I shouldn't be looking
02:35at the tracker? No, that's not what I'm telling you. That's absolutely not what I'm telling you.

03:01decades, that's a lot. Um, and I love that Todd Munkin is explaining. That was the biggest frustration
03:11I had with Kevin and I have with these secretive head coaches. All of them are secretive, but like
03:17the super secretive, I'm not going to give the media anything. Okay. Then you're not going to
03:21tell your fans anything. You're not going to connect with your fans. Right. And, uh, that's why nobody
03:26misses Kevin Stefanski. Very true. I, they, they, they mic'd up Kevin Stefanski in Atlanta and the Falcons
03:33shared it on social media. Browns fans dunking all over that video this morning. Oh, I I'm, I'm sure
03:39because it's, it's as stale as a cracker that's been sitting out for a week. Like I, you know,
03:47it's not very believable. So impression. Thank you. Yeah. Um, accurate to, uh, setting the comedic value
03:55aside. It was very accurate, but Todd Munkin is doing a great job of letting the fans in peeling
04:04back the curtain a little bit, explaining things, Mike Bajakin yesterday, explaining things. I think
04:11that's very helpful to fans so that they understand what goes into the process, the details in all of
04:20it. Okay. And here's what we've heard about Shadur and the questions aren't negative that are being
04:28asked. It's like, Hey, Mike, can you tell us where Shadur Sanders has gotten better, uh, from the spring
04:35till now we're 10 practices into training camp? Okay. That was the question that Mike Bajakin was
04:41asked. Same question. Todd Munkin gets asked. Hey, uh, you know, Todd, can you tell us where is
04:48Shadur gotten better? Where are you? What are you most impressed about the young man since you've
04:54gotten to know him? Okay. So, you know, there's this impression among Shadur Sanders fans. There's
05:00a couple of those. One that the kid is infallible. He can do no wrong. He is the greatest quarterback
05:06to ever walk this earth. And the fact that he has not been named the Brown starting quarterback at
05:12this point is an affront to the sport of football and is an indictment, uh, on the acumen of anyone
05:21associated with the Cleveland Browns. And the fact that the media is not shilling for Shadur Sanders
05:28day in and day out is they're racist. They want to just punch down on the kid. They want to
05:37beat him
05:38down. They don't want him to succeed. Listen, let me explain something to you. First of all,
05:43it's not our job to root for anybody. Okay. My rooting interest, I root for the story. I usually
05:50will root for the best story to me. Shadur Sanders starting for the Cleveland Browns is a much better
05:56story than Deshaun Watson. Okay. Um, if I were making the decision, Shadur Sanders would be the starting
06:05quarterback week one in Jacksonville, because I understand football teams really not going anywhere
06:10right now. They got another year of this growth that they've got to do. And you might as well find
06:16out if this kid can or cannot do it on a week to week basis in the national football league.
06:21But this notion that the media, because we point out when Shadur screws up on the practice field,
06:30that we're a nothing but a bunch of haters. And we just want to tear this kid down because we
06:38hate who
06:39his dad is or his family is, or, uh, uh, because he makes songs or what, you know, uh, whatever
06:48he does
06:49off the field. We just hate them. And we're just rooting for his downfall. It is the biggest bunch of
06:57malarkey ever. There's not a single person that covers the Cleveland Browns. And I've, I've worked
07:06alongside these folks for years and years and years. And listen, you don't always have to agree
07:12with what we say and what we write and talk about and all that. Okay. We all have independent train
07:19of
07:20thought. There's not a single person that covers the Cleveland Browns that goes out there on a daily
07:29basis, trying to find a new way to say or write nasty things about Shadur Sanders or to stick it
07:36to
07:36Shadur Sanders or tell you how much Shadur Sanders stinks and doesn't belong in the NFL, et cetera,
07:42et cetera. You know, who has been telling you that Shadur Sanders doesn't belong in the NFL,
07:48the other 31 teams, they're the ones that the quarterback rankings that came out.
07:55And I, by the way, I got hate for this. I, I, Deshaun was 31. Shadur was dead last 35.
08:02And I
08:02said, those need to be flipped. Shadur Sanders should not be behind Deshaun Watson in any quarterback
08:08rankings by any metric whatsoever. And those quarterback rankings, by the way, I feel like this
08:13can't be repeated enough. That wasn't just some guy who, who woke up at one morning and decided to
08:20rank all of those quarterbacks himself. Mike Sando at the athletic polls 50 NFL personnel and Nick
08:29Wilson got really mad at me. Daryl saying, well, what are those personnel? No, they, you know, those
08:33personnel have been wrong about many of things. Sure. They have nobody's perfect, but when you've got 50
08:39people polled, executives, coordinators, head coaches, scouts, 50 of them polled, and they all
08:47say the same thing, aggregate those numbers and Shadur is the 35th ranked quarterback in football.
08:55It shows you how the league views this guy. It shows you that if he's the 35th ranked QB that
09:03slid to the
09:04fifth round of the draft, we understand why each team had an opportunity to draft him and passed on
09:10him, not once, but twice each 32 teams passed on Shadur at least twice in the 2025 NFL draft, then
09:19how
09:19could the Browns be the team trying to sabotage him or anything like that? I truly don't think that's
09:26the case. Maybe a little bit of it last year, last off season. I would have heard you out because

09:32thought he deserved a little bit of a bigger opportunity as a rookie because he had those
09:38raw intangibles, especially because the other rookie in the class, Dylan Gabriel, was getting
09:43that opportunity and did not have any of those raw intangibles that Shadur has in terms of the arm
09:49strength, in terms of the playmaking, just some of those raw abilities that we wanted to see.
09:54You know, so last year, sure, I would humor the conspiracies. I would. That, you know, they were
09:59setting up to fail this, that, and third. But, but again, this is the second coaching staff now
10:04telling you this. And after he put out seven games of starting NFL tape, the league is telling you how
10:11they view Shadur Sanders and, and that upsets his fans. It does. And it will upset Browns fans as well
10:17because the other guy in this competition in Deshaun Watson ain't good either. Deshaun's not good
10:23either. And that's the one thing that can't get lost in all of this. We're not dumping on Shadur here.
10:28We're not, we're not tearing down Shadur to try to prop up Deshaun. That's not what is going on
10:34here. I think you and I are both of the belief that this organization does not have a quarterback
10:40and we will be debating in January and February and March into the combine April. Oh goodness.
10:48April is such a long month before we finally get to the NFL draft. We're going to be debating
10:53quarterbacks, Daryl. This, you know, loaded college football class that's promised to be so,
10:59so good. Allegedly loaded. The Browns are telling you that they don't believe in the young kid as
11:05much as his big, biggest fans do. And, and it's not that they don't believe in him. Like he, he,
11:11I've said this multiple times, just because if he doesn't win the quarterback competition,
11:17that doesn't mean that Shadur is washed or he's a failure or he's a bust or anything just means
11:22he's not ready yet. Okay. He was a fifth round pick. That's not a big, that's not a big enough
11:27investment that warrants forcing him onto the field as a start. If he was a first round pick,
11:31then yeah, he's probably your starting quarterback. I got news for you, regardless of what, you know,
11:39his people around him said about him being a first round picker. He doesn't look like a first,
11:44he looks like he's a fifth round pick out there at times. Okay. And again, if you listen closely to
11:50what Mike Bajakin said yesterday, if you listen closely to what Todd Munkin says, basically on a
11:56daily basis, we're talking about basic stuff, throw the ball away, live to fight it out of the down.
12:00That's quarterback one-on-one. That's basic stuff. But for Shadur, that is game-changing
12:08for him right now. That is culture-changing for him right now. Okay. The processing of information,
12:16the getting the play, regurgitating it, being able to read the defense and make the defense move.
12:21Like those are things Shadur has never been asked to do before. And so it's going to take him some
12:26time
12:26to really wrap his arms around it and get it on the level that's required in the NFL. That's okay.
12:33That's not me sitting here hating on Shadur. That's not me sitting here rooting against Shadur.
12:39That's me explaining to you why he's probably not going to start week one. That doesn't mean he can't
12:46start in week six, seven, eight, nine, 10, whatever this season. Because I get, guess what? He probably
12:51will. Because that's how she goes here in Cleveland. But he's not ready yet. And that's okay.
12:57It's okay to say that. Okay. You're not bashing the kid by saying it. I like him personally. I like
13:05Shadur. I think he's a good kid. I do. I love what he does in the community. I love the
13:10fact that we
13:11find out he went to talk to kids at a school after the fact. I like the fact that I
13:17don't get press
13:18releases from his people saying, hey, come watch Shadur do A, B, C, D, E, F, and G like I
13:25get for
13:26every other Browns player. He just goes and does it. And then his folks, his people around him put
13:33it out. He's doing wonderful stuff in the community. Good kid. I like him a lot. Okay. I think it'll
13:41be
13:41a great story when he's the full-time starter for the Cleveland Browns, assuming that happens at some
13:45point. But he's not ready yet. And that's okay. He's a young player. But he never was going to be
13:54a first-round pick. He doesn't look like a first-round pick. And again, that's okay.
14:01He's like, so just, I do think that his fans need to take a deep breath. That's all I'm saying.
14:09I'm not going to though. I know. Like none of us, none of us that cover the Browns are out
14:14to get
14:15Shadur Sanders. None of us that cover the Browns hate the kid. None of us that cover the Browns
14:20want to see him fail. Quite the opposite, I think. I think there's a lot of folks that would rather
14:27see him start week one than Deshaun Watson. But Todd Munkin is telling you who's going to start

14:47Again, we do that just to get the coach on the record. We never can assume anything.
14:54And he's like, yeah, Shadur's going to get all the first-team reps. And then we go out to practice.
14:58And interesting. There's Deshaun in the 11-on-11 with the Stars. Okay. Now we move to 7-on-7.
15:04Interesting. There's Deshaun Watson with the 7-on-7s. Oh, now they're putting on the
15:08mesh jerseys to put the game plan and scheme together. Oh, that's interesting. Deshaun's
15:13in the 11-on-11 with the first-team offense. Okay. Oh, we're going back to another 7-on-7.

15:23all throughout the practice. And there's Shadur Sanders with the number twos along with
15:28Dylan Gabriel. I asked this question yesterday on X during practice because I'm watching
15:38it. And it's like, okay, it's Deshaun's day. But even more interesting, I'm seeing a lot
15:44more Dylan Gabriel than I care to see right now. Yeah. Heavy dose of Dylan these last couple
15:50days. So, and I'm like, well, is it possible? Could, and like, and I was, I was sincerely
15:55asking the question. Like, I wasn't rage baiting or anything like that. I was, I was just a thought
16:00popped into my head and I, I shared it with my audience on social media. But like, I was
16:05like, could Shadur be quarterback three right now? Because I'm seeing more Dylan Gabriel.
16:11And I talked to some folks this week who explained to me that they certainly understand that I'm not
16:18a fan of Dylan Gabriel as an NFL quarterback, at least an NFL starting quarterback. I think he'll,
16:22I think he'll be a very good backup quarterback. He's highly intelligent. He goes out there and
16:28things function when he's on the field. I just don't think he's tall enough to be able to see
16:32what he needs to see, which isn't, it's not his fault. God did not bless him with, with that
16:40verticality, which I can relate to. I can, you know, the, the one pushback that I will say,
16:45like, like if I, I, I, if I could put him in Taysom Green's body, we'd have a quarterback.
16:50Yeah, you'd be onto something. Even though like the one pushback that I will give it, because that
16:55is what, when discussing Dylan, right? Like they drafted him in the top 100 because they thought
17:00like, if this could be a 10 year backup in the league for us, that's a home run of a
17:04pick. If you
17:04get a backup quarterback, the third round, a smart guy that you want around the organization,
17:09and he's going to be your backup for the longterm, it's, it's an investment worth taking in the third
17:14round was the gamble that they made last year. Yeah. My pushback on that though, is during his
17:19small sample size, six games that he started behind the same bad offensive line as Shador,
17:25by the way, with the same clown receivers that Shador had to play with, by the way,
17:31I really did question if Dylan Gabriel was even cut out to be a backup quarterback in the league.
17:37So they better still be right about that as well. I know we've thrown a lot of flowers.
17:41He's been, he's looked the most consistent and like what they're doing with Taylor.
17:46That's a very low bar though. I mean, when you're, when you're, when you're, when the other guys in
17:52the room are Taylor and green, who was an inaccurate quarterback in college, like, like Taylor and
17:57green. By the way, you want to know what he's relegated to a training camp right now? Taylor and
18:00green. Come on, let's be nice to Taylor. I am. I'm just telling you, I'm just explaining to folks what's
18:04going on. What's he been relegated? Well, what they're doing, he's the quarterback they put in there
18:08when they're specifically working on a pass, protect, pass rush. Yeah. Offense the, just in
18:14case someone accidentally falls into a quarterback's legs accidentally, you don't want it to be
18:19Shador Sanders or Deshaun Watson getting taken out for that. And look, I mean, and again, that's not
18:26me taking a cheap, a cheap shot at Taylor and green. He's QB four on the depth chart. And that's
18:32the
18:32smart coaching thing to do. Hey, we're doing, we are doing this very, uh, specific controlled
18:39drill here. Offensive line, pass protect defensive line, pass rush. Let's put Taylor and green in
18:47there to just simulate, do the simulation of the quarterback, whatever. But that I'm just being
18:52like, that's what he's been relegated to. But like, yeah, I mean, they're telling us who's going
18:59to play by who's practicing where, where, and when they are practicing. So they've got four of these
19:06guys, Daryl. I was told, and I've, I've shared this on air. There was an AFC North team that was
19:12planning on drafting and he's not getting cut by the way. He's on the team either. So they're going
19:17to have to find a way to figure out this room. Andrew Barry said he'll keep four quarterbacks if
19:23he has to. Yeah. And he said that before, and he did it once. Remember when he kept four out
19:28of camp
19:28on the initial 53, but it didn't last very long. It did not last very long. It didn't even last
19:33like a week. Well, I think it lasted 48 hours. Yeah. So, so just because they keep four, doesn't
19:39mean that they're keeping four, for the long haul, even though it might be number four, who is QB.
19:45Well, that's usually because teams call their bluff, right? Okay. So if Andrew Barry's working the
19:50phones, trying to trade the quarterback that he wants to trade. Oh, you'll just cut him. No, I won't.
19:55Right. Yeah. You're just going to cut them anyway. So we'll just wait until you cut
19:58them. It costs us nothing. We'll claim them on the waiver wire. And that's just going
20:01to be that. Right. And then Andrew Barry calls her bluff and says, no, we didn't cut them.
20:06So if you'd like to talk about a trade, we'll talk about a trade that again, that's Andrew
20:10Barry being a smart GM doing that. Right. But yeah, I just, so, so like, again, we can only
20:18tell you what we're seeing out there. Okay. And, and that's the, you know, I put this out
20:26there too. People might think we're making too much of this, but it's not like, and what
20:29we've seen hasn't been good. Like I can't get lost here is Deshaun Watson. They're going
20:34to name like, that's embarrassing. That is very, very, very embarrassing for the Cleveland
20:40Browns that you're getting ready to start this new era of football under Todd Munkin.
20:45You've got all this young talent over these last two seasons, really the stock arrow on
20:50the organization should be pointing in the upwards direction because they've had two
20:55really nice drafts back to back, but you're going to let this new era start this Todd Munkin
21:02era start with the horrific stench of the Deshaun Watson trade from 2022 that plagued the
21:10last era of Browns football. What did Deshaun say when we talked to him? He said, I had a
21:13lot of stuff going on when I got here. That that's what he said a couple of weeks, a couple
21:19days ago when we talked to him.
