00:00I've kind of quarreled with, we're all football fans.
00:03There's just different levels of football fandom.
00:06And one of the themes, I think, of the arguments that sometimes me and you get in
00:11or me and the football fans all over the place
00:13is that there is a pretty substantial number of football fans
00:21who will say all football is good football.
00:24Defensive struggle, good football.
00:27You know, greatest show on turf or what?
00:30Good football.
00:31Oh, this one was just a shootout.
00:33Good football.
00:34Oh, two backup quarterbacks.
00:35Good football.
00:36It's football.
00:36And last night, people were willing to accept any football normally.
00:41But I will say the social media I woke up to today
00:44is a bunch of people were admitting that it was bad football.
00:45It was bad football.
00:46Which normally they don't.
00:48Normally it's a celebration of football no matter what.
00:50I think usually you find that in college.
00:51Like if people see 62, 61, they're, oh my God.
00:55It's like, no, it ain't good football.
00:57I mean, I got to dig deeper.
00:59Maybe it is.
00:59Maybe the offenses are just that high powered.
01:01But usually, there's issues here.
01:04And you got to dig a little deeper.
01:06And I think last night, I think you're right.
01:08I think people were excited to see like the NFL come back
01:11and then it was just, it plopped.
01:13I can appreciate good defensive football when there are a ton of like tackle,
01:18you're sorry, sacks, quarterback pressures.
01:21Yeah.
01:21Guys, you know, making plays, saving, you know, potential scores and things like that.
01:26It didn't feel like that was happening at all last night though.
01:29It felt like two teams that, you know.
01:33I mean, they didn't play their starters all three preseason games
01:36or any preseason games for that matter.
01:39And then also had two weeks off or three weeks off since the last time those guys played.
01:44Bingo.
01:45You had almost 150 yards and 17 combined taking penalties as well.
01:49Like that's, that's, that can be, that can be pretty slight.
01:51I mean, that's what it was.
01:52It was a preseason game last night.
01:53And let me tell you why.
01:54That is exactly why I'm telling you.
01:57Like, I can't tell you about what's going to happen.
02:00I'm not going to tell you about what's going to happen in week two or any week after that.
02:05Last night is the exact reason why it's like, I absolutely, I give it.
02:10I know what the odds say.
02:12They say eight and a half.
02:13I say it's a 50-50 chance.
02:15I think it's a 50-50 proposition.
02:17I am as, I am as in tune for a Browns football game as I think I'm going to be
02:22all year.
02:23Well, I don't know.
02:24Week two is probably going to be a big one.
02:26So I, but I'm pretty in tune with these first two weeks about how things are going to go.
02:30And I, it's week one.
02:33You, both of these teams lost week one last year.
02:36Both of them did.
02:37Maybe it's a Patriots thing where they just come out and play like absolute garbage in
02:40week one every year.
02:41Maybe they'll set sail.
02:43I think that some people are going to look at it as a Superbowl hangover.
02:46I know that Drake May was terrible last night, obviously, but going back to the Browns.
02:51Hey, I know the 13 and four.
02:53I know what Vegas is saying.
02:55And I don't think I'll sound like this every week.
02:57I mean, if they go out there and they get boat raced, I can't imagine I'm going to sound
03:00like this every week.
03:00And we're going to play some hilarious Ross Tucker audio coming up here to Ron 624.
03:04Vegas thinks you're getting boat raced.
03:05I understand that.
03:06Is that one of the bigger lines of the weekend?
03:08I totally understand that.
03:09But I imagine, well, you know, New England was coming off a bad record, but they had,
03:15they had the pieces that people might be excited about going into the last year against
03:18Vegas in week one.
03:20I, I, but I, I do believe that week one tends to be a slop fest.
03:24I think last night was an indicator of that.
03:26Uh, week one is a good thing for us.
03:28Yes.
03:28That's what I'm saying.
03:29If you can come out and you can just eliminate first and 15, if you can eliminate second and
03:3512, because of holds or holds, I mean, holds happen, uh, if you can eliminate pre-snap,
03:41if you can eliminate turnovers, like if you can run the ball with any decency and calm down
03:46Deshaun Watson, like I, yeah, I think you can get a little sloppy and, and find a way to win
03:53this football game on Sunday.
03:55You're not favored for very good reasons.
03:57One team is better than, than the other.
03:59And, and the Jacksonville Jaguars have a better quarterback situation.
04:02They have a more proven coaching situation.
04:05I don't, Tom Munkin might end up being the golden God.
04:06We don't know yet.
04:07One coach has gone to the playoffs after a terrible introductory press conference has gone to the
04:12playoffs and is, it seemed to seemingly has turned the Jacksonville Jaguars around.
04:16They got a good defense.
04:17They got a good front four.
04:18They're good against the run.
04:19A lot of this stuff is obviously based on last year.
04:23There's a lot of reasons why if this were week eight, I go, yeah, I'm going to take the
04:28Jaguars.
04:28But I'm telling you right now, if you're going to take the Browns, I think this week's the
04:30week to take the Browns and you could, you're saying Browns money line or Ross Tucker and
04:36wake his ass up and tell him to call up.
04:38I'll tell him right to his face.
04:40Respectfully.
04:40You're saying take the Browns with the points or take the Browns to win.
04:44Oh, you just get taken.
04:45I'm going to take the win.
04:46Hey, I don't gamble, but if you want to do money line, I'll take the Browns to win.
04:50Now, what is Ken?
04:51You bring in a Bible in the past.
04:53What has Ken said at this exact time before every game?
04:58He went from like four wins to six wins to eight wins to ten wins.
05:02Oh, that was last year.
05:03That was last year.
05:04And then the coach got fired.
05:06I'm going to watch week one.
05:07Well, I'm going to watch week one.
05:09I'm going to pick him to win week one.
05:10You know what?
05:11I'm going to watch week one, too.
05:12I can't imagine I'm going to pick him to win next week.
05:14I think that reality will probably set in.
05:17Honestly, I can't imagine I'm going to pick him to win next week.
05:19I want to ask the fans.
05:19This is not a Ken Carman question.
05:21Okay, fine.
05:21If Ken tells you every year at this exact time that the Browns are going to win the opener,
05:26does he lose credibility with the fans?
05:28We've won some openers recently.
05:29We have.
05:30We actually have.
05:32Point that out.
05:33If Ken does this exact same thing every year, do you brush it off?
05:36Do you say, oh, well, it's just Ken being Ken, or does it get you fired up?
05:41I'm asking the fans.
05:42You don't have to answer that question.
05:43I can't answer that question.
05:44I have no idea.
05:452-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
05:47When Ken predicts the Browns to win week one every year, does it mean anything?
05:53Does it get you pumped up?
05:56That's week one.
05:59I'm not picking them to win every week, I imagine.
06:01Are you doing your own thing now?
06:02But here's the thing.
06:03If they do win, then you will pick them to win week two.
06:06No, I don't think I will.
06:07I don't know if I will.
06:08Yes, you will.
06:09A hundred percent.
06:10Well, now you're going to make me pick against them out of spite.
06:122-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
06:13If the Browns actually do win week one, will Ken flip-flop and pick the Browns to win week two?
06:19So, a couple questions out there for the fans.
06:21Oh, my God!
06:24I hate you dearly.
06:27All right.
06:28I'll pick them.
06:28I mean, if they win week one, I'll pick them to week one, too.
06:30Hell, yeah, Will.
06:31I don't know.
06:32I might just do it out of spite to pick against them.
06:34Well, if they win week one and week two, then what are we doing when they come home for the
06:38home opener?
06:39We're booing.
06:41You kidding me?
06:42It's a boo-fest.
06:43We already forgot about that.
06:45What are you talking about?
06:46Yeah, he forgot about that.
06:47He brought it up at the beginning of the press conference, but then he later on forgot about it.
06:50That's right.
06:51Yeah, we got our brains screwed on real tight, don't we?
06:55We are fully confident in ourselves, aren't we, over there?
07:00I might end up wearing this one on Sunday afternoon, now come to think of it.
07:03Well, make a case.
07:05This is the great thing about all this.
07:07You always make a case.
07:09Ken, it's easy to do.
07:11Outside of there, just the Browns, and it's, hey, I like the Browns.
07:16No, it's week one, and I think that your offensive line can probably not be any worse than what it
07:23was last year.
07:24I understand that you bring up with the Shador fans that they weren't that, da-da-da-da-da.
07:29They still were one of the bottom groups in the NFL.
07:34It's their first week together, so that's going to be pretty hard to make an argument for.
07:39Oh, damn it.
07:42Fire up the music.
07:43Get me going.
07:43Easily, yesterday.
07:45What?
07:45During his eight minutes of speaking to Sean Watson, he was asked about his 7-0 record against the Jacksonville
07:52Jaguars.
07:538-0, Owen.
07:54They said 7-0.
07:55He's owned them.
07:56Mary Kay wrote 8-0.
07:57They said 7-0.
07:58Okay, well, you know.
07:59I mean, you heard it twice.
08:00I listened to it three times.
08:01I listened to it twice.
08:03I listened to it yesterday afternoon, and I heard it this morning with Jeff, but I only read what Mary
08:07Kay wrote.
08:09All right.
08:10Even though those were different teams, let's hear.
08:12Remember, he had the punctured lung or whatever at one point and then rode a bus all the way to
08:18Jacksonville to play against him?
08:18It is amazing to fall from grace.
08:20Remember that guy?
08:21I wanted that guy.
08:22That's who I thought we were getting.
08:23That guy's gone.
08:23That guy's gone.
08:25He's never coming back.
08:26That bus went to speed limit the whole way there.
08:30Or they just didn't get caught.
08:31I don't know.
08:32Hey, 643.
08:33Used to be a time where athletes would get away with speeding.
08:35That is not today.
