00:06Moms in the constituency of Port of Spain's south were given an opportunity to unwind and mingle a bit.
00:12After all, they were the ones being celebrated with light refreshments, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages,
00:19and hampers by the MP Keith Scotland's senior counsel.
00:23We're told that about 600 of them were catered for.
00:26So, according to the MP, a number of lucky moms will get a chance to be pampered further,
00:32but he jokes lightheartedly that all but his constituents are seeking the opportunity.
00:38Mother's Day is a special time for the mothers.
00:40Now, here's the thing, though, because you are not taking me on.
00:43I am having a spa for the mothers, Angel, a spa for you all.
00:48Hold on. But you all have to register for the spa.
00:51So you have to let your children do a vlog.
00:54A vlog is a little video with you all, and the mothers, you all getting a manicure, a pedicure, a
01:02facial, and a massage.
01:04But nobody not subscribing, so what's going on?
01:07He says they'll also be able to get their hair washed and set.
01:1232 moms will get a full-day spa worth $3,500.
01:20That is part of my contribution to mothers.
01:22Not every time, you know, we want, you know, a care package, a ham.
01:26I'm pampering the mothers because I know I think mothers are the greatest thing in the world.
01:33But that is from my anger of nemesis because my mother was the greatest thing in the world.
01:37The MP is calling on people who he says are fortunate to have their moms alive, to treat them with
01:43honor.
01:44And, you know, if we go back to those days, I think that this crime wave that has ripped and
01:51gripped this country,
01:52with that principle and virtue, I think people will think twice once they understand the concept of honor.
02:03Angela Harrison from Nelson Street shares her thoughts on the initiative, singling out participation by young people.
02:25Harrison is calling for togetherness to put an end to the scourge, saying as much as she tries to speak
02:31to young people,
02:32many of them do not give her a listening ear.
02:36Christiana Regis is grateful for the support Scotland has given to the moms, and she has some words of advice.
02:43As mothers and parents, you have to be attentive with your children.
02:49You have to, in this time, you have to have your children in different things to keep them from crime.
02:55You have to have them in, when they leave school, give them karate, give them pan, give them scourge as
03:03a tender age, give them scourge from scourge cadets.
03:07She says if parents do not keep their children busy, then children will keep their parents busy.
