00:10In a statement today, the Ministry says it is aware of the disturbing allegations and is working
00:15closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, which is actively investigating the
00:19matter through its specialized units, including the Victim and Witness Support Unit. The Ministry
00:25says support services remain available through its Gender Affairs Division, including the National
00:31Domestic Violence Hotline and Emergency Shelter for Women and Fair Dependents, along with ongoing
00:37outreach and prevention programs. Meanwhile, the National Family Services Division continues to
00:42provide psychosocial support to affected families, working alongside law enforcement to ensure timely
00:49intervention. Authorities are urging members of the public to report cases of abuse and to play their
00:55part in identifying warning signs early. Anyone experiencing domestic or gender-based violence
01:00is encouraged to contact the police at 999 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-SAVE.
01:07Reports of child abuse can also be made to the Children's Authority or Childline.
