00:00I've been broken down from since last day, mother's day to now. I never stopped crying for my son, Ronel
00:09Marcel. This is where everything that happened on the junction here, the 25th and the 5th, and April. I like
00:21justice to be done for my son since last day to now.
00:25TV6 News returned to the scene on Monday, where the shooting of Ronel Marcel occurred on April 25, 2025. Ms.
00:34Marcel told TV6 News her son was shot by a Tobago police officer while he was handcuffed. Today, she still
00:41suffers from sleepless nights and nightmares.
00:43She said police later met with her following the incident and advised the shooting death was being looked into. Video
00:52captured of the incident went viral on social media and today no charges have been laid.
00:58Why? This officer had to leave from where he is from, right next door, one neighbor, without a phone call,
01:06with no police, jeeps, nothing. You yourself just come and just lock my son up with her handcuff in his
01:12hand. Without no mercy.
01:16Leah Marcel, sister of the deceased, said the pain of losing her brother remains fresh in her mind.
01:22So he still doesn't hurt me. He still doesn't bother me. But sometimes when I even see the officer and
01:29all, I just be like, wait, look at that. You still walk in muddy place, normal, normal. You know, every
01:35time I see you, like, what's going on? We need justice.
01:40An autopsy stated Marcel died as a result of gunshot injury to his shoulder and neck, along with shock and
01:48hemorrhaging.
01:48Last year, Tobago police told the TV6 News the file was heading to the DPP for determination.
01:54Up to news time, when we contacted police today, we were yet to have an update of the case.
