00:00Hello there, good morning. Well I've got some good news and also some bad news. There is
00:05some rain in the forecast. Not ideal for a bank holiday weekend, but much needed rain
00:10for many areas as it has been very dry the last few weeks. So quite a wet start across
00:15southern Scotland, northern parts of England, though the rain will eventually ease away
00:18as this system drifts its way into the North Sea. It's still going to be fairly cloudy
00:23even through into this afternoon. We'll start to see some brighter spells across the south
00:27but mixed in with plenty of showers. These could be heavy at times and we may hear some
00:32rumbles of thunder. There could also be some showers elsewhere across the country, though
00:36many areas should be mostly dry. Still feeling warm in any sunshine across the south too.
00:41Highs reaching between 17 to 19 degrees Celsius here, but notice across many northern and eastern
00:46areas it is going to be feeling that much cooler, particularly if you compare it to the warm
00:50weather we've had of late. So a little bit cooler under the clouds, still fairly warm in
00:55the sunshine. We will see some showers continue for a time across the south this evening before
01:00eventually easing overnight. And mostly dry for many areas, a few more clearer skies across
01:06Scotland, northern parts of England, so likely turning chillier compared to recent nights.
01:11And then a few showers just starting to drift into the far north of Scotland through the
01:15early hours of Monday. So a chillier night to come, but most towns and cities still holding
01:19up around the mid-single figures with added cloud fairly mild still across the south, lows reaching
01:24around 9 to 10 degrees Celsius.
01:28Now some more good news is that for bank holiday Monday, it's probably going to be a lot drier
01:32for many areas compared to this afternoon. There will still be some showers mostly across
01:37south and south-west England, perhaps southern parts of Wales, and also this band of showers
01:41just moving into northern parts of Scotland. These could bring longer spells of rain which
01:45could turn heavy. But otherwise lots of dry weather, a mix of cloud and also some brighter spells.
01:50Still on the cooler side, but most towns and cities around the mid-teens. And across the
01:55south still fairly warm, highs reaching around 17 degrees Celsius. So where we see any brighter
02:00weather, any sunshine, it should still feel rather pleasant for the time of year.
02:04But I'm afraid to say as we push further into next week, things are going to continue to get
02:09cooler and cooler. We've got high pressure situated out to the west. This is going to intensify
02:14this northerly flow of air across the country as we head into the early part of next week. So we're
02:19saying
02:20goodbye to the warm weather we've had recently and things are going to turn much cooler, more
02:24towards average for this time of the year. And with that, a little bit unsettled as well
