00:00Good morning. Today marks the last day of meteorological spring, despite probably not
00:05feeling like it over the past week. Now, as we head through into the last day of spring,
00:10it is actually feeling fresher out there. We will see sunny spells, scattered showers,
00:15and then as we start meteorological summer, well, we'll start to see some outbreaks of rain.
00:21Having a look at the bigger picture, we've had a cold front clear its way through,
00:24introducing some fresher air for us today. As we go through Monday, though, another area of
00:29low pressure arrives from the west, bringing outbreaks of rain. Now, this rain might actually
00:35beat some welcome rainfall, especially for farmers and gardeners. As that clears its way through
00:41into Tuesday, it will be a day of sunny spells and frequent showers. But back to the rest of this
00:48morning. It's been quite a mild start out there. Plenty of brightness first thing across eastern
00:52areas, but it's Scotland where we see spells of rain pushing its way north and eastwards,
00:58followed by showers. Most frequent showers across Scotland, but the main focus will be across the
01:04northeast where they could turn thundery. A brighter day in all four northern islands,
01:10still a few showers around, and then for many of us, more in the way of cloud, a few isolated
01:14showers,
01:15but it will be feeling cooler out there. Despite that, northern Ireland seeing a better day here,
01:21temperatures rising around 19 degrees. Elsewhere, it is closer to the average, feeling warm in that
01:28sunshine. But when you compare that to what we saw on Saturday, it is widely cooler across much of
01:34England and Wales. Along the coast, though, that's where it might feel a little bit more pleasant. We
01:39lose the easterly wind here. And across northern Ireland, that's where it should hold up a little bit
01:44better, given more in the way of some sunshine. So feeling fresher out there through the afternoon,
01:51there will be a few showers around. They'll start fading. It's Scotland where we still hold on to
01:56the showers as we head through the night. Clear spells for many, but cloud outbreaks of rain arriving
02:03from the west across northern Ireland into Wales and the far southwest of England. Temperatures
02:09overnight holding up around 12 to 13 degrees, but a little bit cooler, especially across central parts
02:16of Scotland. So Monday marks the start of meteorological summer. There will be plenty of
02:22brightness first thing. Sunny skies across eastern areas, but won't last long. Cloud outbreaks of rain
02:29arriving from the west. It's going to be turning heavy, particularly over the hills across northwestern
02:34parts of England into Wales and down towards the southwest. Hopefully some of the southeast sees
02:39some rainfall if that is what you're after. But temperatures will be around 18 to 22, possibly 23
02:47degrees. So all change as we head into the start of meteorological summer on Monday. Make sure to hit
