00:00right through Sunday here across the southeast. The rain is welcomed. We do need that given that
00:05we have had a lot of drought through southern Georgia north. There's early in the spring so
00:11the rain comes a little bit as a good thing. However it does dampen the day and make it hard
00:17to get out and about as you see with the wipers on. Taking you through the southeast for your
00:21Friday more showers thunderstorms here still kicking up anywhere from Jackson Montgomery
00:25right into Jacksonville. If you're farther north it's not a bad day. A little warm in Nashville 90
00:31degrees with the humidity starting to come back in. Nice day in Roanoke and I think Charlotte has a
00:35beautiful day at 91 sunshine found in abundance. So basically we still have that drier air trying to
00:41hang on to the southeast but note where the thunderstorm boundary is right here across
00:46Florida and that's going to remain with that chance for some extra rain. Going into your Friday morning
00:51you can see the boundary still holding on here to the south and throughout daytime heating more
00:55showers and thunderstorms pop up. But that's not the end of the story. There is another storm system
01:01here starting to move into the Mississippi and it really doesn't take hold until it gains its speed
01:06and works its way into the Tennessee Valley going into Saturday. And Saturday afternoon and Saturday
01:12evening lots of thunderstorms kick off here through the southeastern U.S. It does bring the risk for
01:17some severe weather. At some risk extends anywhere through parts of Kentucky right into Alabama.
01:23What we'll be concerned about is damaging winds but on top of it heavy rainfall. These thunderstorms
01:30have access to a lot of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico as a storm sweeps eastward. So when we
01:36do get
01:36some of those thunderstorms to form and they squeeze out all of the moisture in the atmosphere well
01:41that's where they can dump quite a bit of rainfall. So flash flooding included in this threat here
01:45and this is going to be a good chunk of the I-65 corridor there from Montgomery up towards the
01:51Louisville area and beyond. So we do have a lot of rain set in Saturday's forecast and it's enough
01:56that you can see with the cloud cover the temperatures are down a little bit. The yellows and oranges coming
02:00in on the map as opposed to the bright reds where we're at 91 in Charlotte. You can see off
02:05towards the
02:05west we're still holding on the 90s or triple digits in places like Dallas at 101 for that high.
02:11And there will still be some showers and thunderstorms through Florida but with the day in day out risk of
02:16rain will be accumulating several inches of rainfall. Most of it is spread out enough it shouldn't cause
02:21too much risk for flooding but it will be some heavy needed rain in a few locations including anywhere
02:27along the I-10 corridor from about New Orleans to Jacksonville. Places like Mobile picking up more
02:31than two inches too.
