00:00We got rain targeting parts of Pennsylvania and New York earlier in the day and we're going to
00:05be dealing with some thunderstorms near I-95 escalating right now. The NFL season kicks off
00:09tonight in Philly where a few early thunderstorms are possible. And meanwhile it feels more like
00:13October across the north central U.S. with highs only in the 40s and 50s from parts of the Dakotas
00:18to Minnesota. Lake effect showers and even a few water spouts will be possible with each burst
00:23of colder air here Jeff. But first go and take a live look at Kane, Pennsylvania and this is an
00:28area that we've seen some rainfall because you have the wet roads right there in Kane.
00:32Absolutely. This is not too far from from Smithport PA which is the icebox of Pennsylvania
00:38has the statewide record low temperature statewide record high temperature all times Phoenixville
00:43PA and we're going to be dealing with some thunderstorms there. We are facing some gusty
00:47thunderstorms through parts of eastern Virginia taking this from south to north. We're going to
00:51remove the lightning strikes and I wanted to point out also some severe weather in progress in parts
00:57of North Carolina too. So just north of Charlotte far northern Mecklenburg County right over Lake
01:01Norman. Lake Norman there western Iredell County eastern Lincoln eastern Catawba County a severe
01:06thunderstorm warnings in progress and if somebody is maybe off today and they're out there on the
01:10boat on Lake Norman be careful. Again if you have family members out there you may want to give
01:15them a heads up severe thunderstorm warning in progress. We have some strong storms making their push
01:20into the Richmond area. Lots of lightning with that heading up into the Philadelphia metro. Tailgaters
01:26perhaps hearing a little bit of distant rumble or a rumble or two of thunder away to the north up into
01:32parts of Bucks County. Thankfully we're getting a little bit of a gap between lightning zones here
01:38in Philadelphia proper. The southern cluster of thunderstorms at this point is on a trajectory to
01:44stay probably just south of the city. So we're going to get a downpour here momentarily in Philadelphia.
01:49The sports complex but our concern for game time still a couple hours out is that we could see a
01:56little bit of redevelopment out here with some evening and overnight thunderstorms still possible
02:00in Philadelphia. But the greater threat for lightning really is with this first push. We have showers and
02:04storms near the area of the Finger Lakes as well. So we're going to be dealing with a big temperature
02:09change here. We have two fronts coming into the northeast. The first one is knocking on the door of
02:14Philadelphia and New York right now. We're at 82 down in Richmond Virginia in advance of this but
02:19down to 58 up into Green Bay right now. And again we got pregame thunderstorms and potential for a
02:25thunderstorm as well later during the game. Small chance of that into Philadelphia. There will be
02:29some showers around perhaps a lightning delay. We have some showers lingering to the north on Friday
02:34and then the second front the second one brings some interruptions to high school football in
02:39Kentucky in West Virginia western Pennsylvania tomorrow evening and that activates some additional
02:43thunderstorms that could become severe for I-95 on Saturday. And that's the front that's going to deliver the
02:48true cool down for the mid-Atlantic coast. Damien and...
