00:00Jordan Tyson's team, from the onset of the Arizona State workout, which was on the 17th,
00:05through today, has done a tremendous job of trying to push back on any potential slippage
00:14in the draft because of the health issues.
00:15They have hit it out of a park in these last four days.
00:18Yeah, what's funny is, you've been a Tyson guy the entire time, but even in the earlier
00:23hour when we talked about Tyson a very, very little bit, and you're like, yeah, he's unquestionably
00:27this and unquestionably that.
00:28And I'm like, oh, the agency got to you pretty hard there, didn't it?
00:31Because they have, they've been putting on a clinic of how he is basically in a league
00:35of his own, and anybody that thinks otherwise is just an idiot.
00:37Well, and it's funny.
00:38So there was the actual video of him just moving, and he just looks, again, it's a workout video
00:44against air.
00:45Against air, yeah.
00:45No one's ever lost those.
00:47Maybe he's jumping up and doing this, like, I don't know, backwards 360 type catch thing.
00:51I don't know what that was.
00:52Doing a little bit of, like, an Odell Beckham Jr. kind of thing.
00:54It looked cool.
00:55And then Deion, it's so funny, because we all know Deion Sanders is Deion.
01:01Like, he says stuff.
01:03He's really good at getting people's attention.
01:05He can tend to say some inflammatory stuff for attention.
01:09And Tyson was at Colorado, too.
01:11He was.
01:11But him tweeting out about Jordan Tyson, and all of a sudden, I'm thinking, damn, is he
01:17even going to be there at six?
01:18Well, and so it's funny, because Deion says things, but Deion's voice still carries some
01:23weight.
01:23Yeah.
01:23And so, like, when he said it today, I really do.
01:25My first thought was, is Shador trying to push this?
01:29Like, is this, like, part of what is it?
01:30Deion wants the Browns to take a wide receiver at six overall, because obviously that helps out
01:35Shador.
01:35If you take a better wide receiver at six overall, it's going to help him than, I don't know,
01:39Casey Concepcion at number 24.
01:41Like, that's just, that's just how that's going to work, obviously.
01:44And so, I was wondering that.
01:45I was like, is this a Shador thing?
01:47And it's like, no, Deion just, he just speaks a lot of the times.
01:49And obviously, he's got a relationship with Tyson, has known him for years.
01:52Like, there's, he's going to, he's going to, of course, he's going to speak this way
01:55about him.
01:55And here's the truth.
01:56I don't know if this is just the perception thing, which perception doesn't really touch
02:03what's actually going on in these NFL draft rooms, because they've just been locked
02:06in on this for the last three months, figuring out what they're going to do.
02:09Or whether this is really counteracting a real loss.
02:14But like, there'd been a minute where I was thinking to myself, you know, man, maybe get
02:19to 12 and maybe Jordan Tyson falls.
02:21And if Jordan, if you can get Jordan Tyson at 12 and, and you've traded down, maybe got
02:26a, whether it's another pick this year or a pick next year, like you've mitigated the
02:30kind of concern about taking Jordan Tyson, I would be really surprised now if Jordan
02:36Tyson still fell out of the top 10.
02:38And that felt like a week ago that felt like a foregone conclusion.
02:41Well, there's still some draft boards that haven't completely updated, right?
02:43And those ones that haven't released a new mock attached to it have him, you know, somewhere
02:48in the 17, 18, 19 range and have him behind even guys like Makai Lemon.
02:51And so like, he, he had, he had started to fall just a little bit and now he's right
02:56back at the top.
02:57I, uh, I need him to, he didn't need to fall all the way.
03:01I just need him to fall like 12 so we can get this trade done with Dallas, pick up something
03:05valuable that way.
03:06Cause I'll feel like if, if you said you can move to 12 and get Jordan Tyson, I would
03:11feel like you won the draft and I don't even know what the hell you did at 24.
03:14But now I'm wondering though, cause now I'm like reliving the Colorado years with Tyson in
03:17my head, uh, like, is this Dion just trying to almost do like a make good for how that
03:22relationship ended?
03:23Like Dion, Dion shows up at Colorado.
03:25Tyson's like, I'm out of here.
03:26Cause I don't feel wanted.
03:27I don't feel like you want me on your team.
03:28And so I'm going to leave.
03:29And they, I know they've patched it up publicly in the past year or so, but is that, is that
03:33Dion just trying to be like no hard feelings?
03:35I'm going to try to root for you.
03:36Oh no.
03:37I mean, I think this is, I think this good opportunism from Dion, Dion stock is at a bad spot.
03:44Like there are a lot of concern, not concerns.
03:47There's a lot of speculation that if this year doesn't go the way, uh, that the people
03:51hope that he could be out at Colorado and Jordan Tyson's getting a lot of love on social
03:56media, it's a good look from Dion.
03:58It's just an easy way up.
03:59Yeah, it is.
04:00And I, again, that's not, I'm not trying to like cast dispersions at Dion.
04:04It's a smart thing to do.
04:05Like, Hey, it looks good for you.
04:06It looks good for your program.
04:08Just do that.
04:09I know.
04:09But then there's a part of me too.
04:10That's like, if I'm Carnell Tate, how am I, how am I reacting to this?
04:12If this is, I mean, Shador's dad, it's not Shador.
04:15Shador's got a mind of his own.
04:16Uh, but there is, there is a little bit of a smite there from Dion.
04:19I don't think so.
04:21Okay.
04:21I gotta tell you, like I, I still, and, and so it's funny cause people, there was a clip
04:28that we did from, I think it was, uh, it must've been Thursday show.
04:31Cause I think that was when the workout was, but, uh, where I was like, listen, man, I know
04:35injuries are concern here.
04:37If he's the best wide receiver in the draft, take him.
04:39And there's just something about injuries that most fans just can't get past.
04:44And I get it.
04:45Like it, it is frustrating when a player has injury concerns, but like the, the whole point
04:50of the draft is take as many blue chippers as you can in a draft devoid of blue chippers
04:55and certainly blue chip wide receivers, like guys who could be first division players or
05:00first in the AFC players.
05:02Jordan Tyson is that.
05:03No, I know.
05:04I think he's exceptional.
05:05Uh, I, I, but I understand, I understand the injuries and the injury concerns.
05:08I mean, I, I, I try to rack my brain being like, who was an injured player in college
05:12essentially that when they got to the NFL, all of a sudden the injuries went away and
05:16you're hard pressed to find many people that you can think of.
05:18I mean, JSN is one of them that comes to mind for me.
05:20Like there's, there's, there are, there are players that are like that, but it's, it's,
05:24it's very few and far between all things considered.
05:26So like, is he going to be one of those guys?
05:28Is he going to be one of the guys that all of a sudden gets to the NFL?
05:30And then I, maybe it's just the idea that you're a pro and you got to treat your
05:33body differently.
05:34It sounds lame.
05:35Cause at college, you're a pro and you, you have the best, uh, world-class everything
05:39is already, but like, is there, is there anything more you can do or is he just made a glass
05:43and it is what it is?
05:44And I mean, every injury is different.
05:47Like that, that's the tough thing about it is like, all right, he had a, you know, blew
05:52up his knee.
05:53All right.
05:53That happens to wide receivers all the time.
05:55Yeah.
05:56And some guys have that big injury and then never go back to it again.
05:59And the other is it's soft tissue, which I mean, I think the bigger concern about
06:03the hamstring is that it, it lingered, but even like the shoulder injury was just kind
06:07of like, that's a shoulder injury.
06:08I'm not, I'm not, I'm not thinking you're going to have that again.
06:10So like, it's just, it's, it's such a receiver.
06:12That is, it's such a weird thing.
06:14Cause again, you're only dealing with three or four years of information.
06:17216-474-0092 is Jordan's is Jordan Tyson stock on the rise.
06:22Again, there is just a chance of this, how teams have always felt about him.
06:26And that this is just, this is just hyping up fans.
06:30And, and in the end, he's going to go where he's going to go.
06:32Yeah, probably.
06:33Uh, I mean, another side of this convo too, Nick, is the idea that, uh, what if they, what
06:38if they look at Tyson and just think, well, there's some risk there and we don't, we just
06:42want to hit the doubles that we've talked about before.
06:44And so Carnell Tate would, it would be about as easy of a double off the wall as you can
06:48have.
06:48I mean, I don't, I don't think Andrew Barry's risk averse though, as evidenced by everything
06:52we've seen him do.
06:54Yeah.
06:54I would, I don't know.
06:55Cause it's injuries.
06:56And again, if you have a bulk of information on injuries, you're probably going to lean
07:01against that.
07:02Cause you can go, they probably have better understanding of those three injuries and what
07:06it means for his future than certainly anybody in the media does.
07:10I don't know.
07:11I just, he is like, you want to talk about a guy like, again, Carnell Tate comes in that
07:16look in your eye as you're getting ready to talk about him.
07:18I can see, I know that look with Carnell, like, Oh, okay.
07:22You're going to raise the floor of, of your offensive Carnell's the pick at six, right?
07:26You will.
07:27I truly believe that Carnell can come in and be consistently good.
07:31And that's just, that's going to have huge impact on Jerry Judy.
07:35I think that's got a big impact on Harold Fannin Jr.
07:38And then all of a sudden you've got a D at least decent supporting cast around the quarterback.
07:45There's so, you just haven't had that.
07:47So I want to like, give a lot of credit to that idea, but man, Jordan Tyson raises the
07:52ceiling like considerably because he's just so explosive and he's so freaking good.
07:59I mean, he's taller Stefan Diggs.
08:00Well, I mean, think about it.
08:01It's incredible.
08:02If again, like I'm, I hate to do this because you can do this with literally any player.
08:06I've said if Caleb Lomu had played left tackle at Georgia instead of Monroe Freeling, I think,
08:12I think Caleb Lomu is probably going to be a top 10 pick.
08:14Right.
08:16And so like, there's just, if you play at Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio state, you just
08:21get a kiss that you don't get.
08:23If you played at Arizona state, if Jordan Tyson played at Ohio state, he'd be a top three
08:27pick this year, even with the injuries.
08:29That's how stinking good this kid is as a talent.
08:33And like, I'll be honest with you, like Braylon Edwards coming out, although Braylon's a bigger
08:37wide receiver, I think Jordan Tyson would be the best wide receiver you've drafted in 50
08:44years.
08:44So it's that versus let's go hit a double with Cardinal Tate, who's a very good player
08:48of his own, right?
08:49But maybe just not.
08:50Well, but that's, that's getting into their mindset though.
08:52Like how important is it that Andrew Barry hits on all of these picks and based off of
08:56the reason why I think he has the job, which is him hitting all over the place last year,
09:00I would surmise that it's pretty important that he hits on these.
09:03So, all right.
09:03It is important, but let's also broadcast this forward for a year.
09:07Let's say that you've, you're in a position to take the best quarterback in next year's
09:12class.
09:13I think, I think you're also trying to like, Hey, which wide receiver is going to give that
09:18quarterback that we're going to give, you know, the first chance at in the, for the
09:23next five years to who's going to give him the best chance.
09:25But it's an easy pass that if you, if you don't want to, you can look around and the whole
09:30NFL world would be justified by you saying, I just think he's too injury prone.
09:34And I just, I'm worried about the injuries and I went for, I went for Carnell Tate cause
09:38I know what he, he's going to be a number one one day and he's going to be really solid
09:41out of the gate.
09:42And that's what we needed.
09:42Like you, you can win, you can win that argument with people until, well, okay.
09:46You can win it now in three years.
09:49If he's JSN and he's one of the three best wide receivers in the NFL, you won't have won
09:54it.
09:54No, but I still think you won the justification of it.
09:56You won the logic behind it.
09:57Like if, if somehow he is, uh, he's Forrest Gump and got brand new legs and all of a sudden
10:01everything just looks awesome with him and he's, he's fine.
10:05Then people are gonna be like, yeah, wow, that really surprised us.
10:07Uh, it was a big draft concern.
10:08I don't know why he's healthy now, but he's healthy now.
10:10Yeah.
10:10I will.
10:11So you're right.
10:12And I want to say that before I say that I hate, well, we could justify it.
10:16You can justify anything in the NFL.
10:18That's a lot of their jobs in many ways though.
10:20It's justifying making those moves and making those decisions.
10:22Justifying isn't enough.
10:23Getting it right is, is in the end, what I think you get paid to do.
10:27I just don't think Andrew Barry, again, evidence by everything we've seen him do.
10:30And that goes back to even just the Deshaun Watson trade.
10:33I just don't think he's so risk averse that he would, that he'd look at it the way that
10:36I'm looking at it right now.
10:37I think he, that man is a, that's a roll of the dice guy right there.
10:41That guy likes to gamble way more than, uh, I think his appearance ever gives off.
10:44Have they taken an injury prone guy?
10:47Like the first two rounds.
10:49I'm trying to think.
10:50Like they haven't had too many first two round picks to begin with.
10:52I know Delpit got hurt a lot in the pros, but I don't remember him being injury prone
10:56in college.
10:57Didn't Greg Newsom have injuries?
10:59Newsom actually might be a good get.
11:01I don't know if it was this significant, but I seemed to be pretty sure he was injured
11:05like two out of the three years.
11:06I don't know if this might be a good deal.
11:06I don't know if he was injured.
