Two shocking videos have surfaced from the tragic boat accident in Vrindavan, shedding light on the moments before and after the disaster that claimed multiple lives.

The first video, recorded barely 15 minutes before the हादसा, shows devotees joyfully chanting “Radhe-Radhe” while onboard. The clip, shared in a WhatsApp group named “Banke Bihari Member,” reveals a heavily crowded boat, mostly carrying women, with no life jackets in sight.

The second video captures the horrifying aftermath after the boat capsized in the Yamuna River. Devotees can be seen struggling in the water, crying for help, while nearby boatmen and locals rushed to carry out rescue operations.

According to officials, at least 10 tourists — including 7 women and 3 men — lost their lives in the incident. Around 11 people sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment, while 5 persons are still missing. All the victims had come from Punjab for a religious visit.

Eyewitnesses and survivors alleged negligence on part of the boatman. One survivor stated that the boat was being driven at high speed despite repeated warnings. “We told him two to three times to slow down, but he didn’t listen,” he said.

The accident reportedly occurred around 2:45 pm when strong winds caused the boat to lose balance and collide with a pontoon bridge located करीब 400 metres from KC Ghat. The impact led to the boat overturning instantly, throwing all passengers into the river.

Rescue operations were carried out by local divers, with teams from the administration, police, NDRF, and Army later joining the effort.

Preliminary findings and local accounts suggest that overloading was a major cause of the tragedy. Locals alleged that boats routinely carry far more passengers than permitted, often without any safety measures.

Residents and public representatives have also raised concerns over untrained operators, lack of regulation, and absence of life jackets. Demands are now growing for strict enforcement of safety norms, including passenger limits, mandatory life jackets, and proper licensing of boatmen.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and further action is expected.
