00:00Dr. Rowley said he is happy persons have offered themselves to serve.
00:06The island council is having an election and if there are two candidates, well, we're very happy for that too.
00:13What's going to be disappointing is if there's an election and offices are available and nobody's interested in taking the
00:22responsibility.
00:23So I just hope that everything goes smoothly and I wish them all well.
00:28Dr. Rowley said outgoing PNM Tobago council political leader Ansel Dennis has served the PNM at the highest level.
00:36He also spoke to the performance of a former Tobago West MP, Shanfucka Joe Lewis and former minority leader, Kelvon
00:44Morris.
00:46And Mr. Dennis and others will remain whether he is in office or out of office.
00:51These are valuable components of the Tobago organization of the island council.
00:55He has served at the highest level in Tobago.
00:59Young Kelvin Morris has come in as a lone man like William McKenzie.
01:04Unfortunately, he didn't get the McKenzie longevity, but he's still a very young man.
01:08Shanfucka Joe, I must say, had the pleasure of literally monitoring her and mentoring her.
01:15She served in a national cabinet.
01:18She served in the Senate.
01:19So she has experience.
01:21So it's good that the PNM has these people that PNM can draw on.
01:25Reflecting on the 15-0 defeat of the PNM Tobago council in Tobago on January 12th,
01:32Rowley does not blame the leadership of Ansel Dennis.
01:36In terms of the loss of the PNM in Tobago, do you think Mr. Dennis took too long to step
01:43aside?
01:43I wouldn't comment on that.
01:45I thought that he was quite clear when the results were known.
01:49He didn't wait for any pressure.
01:51He took the principled position that he would step down.
01:54Rowley believes the PNM can make a comeback in the leadership of the Tobago House of Assembly.
