00:05We have to manage the organization in such a way that we'll be ready for an election any time it is called.
00:12And unfortunately, the incumbent did not manage the operations properly, and we are where we are now, in opposition.
00:19It's a lot of work that was not done.
00:21The fact is that the organization was not prepared, but he is blaming the former prime minister.

00:41The meeting took place at the Kenan Multipurpose Facility.
00:44Former Minister Donna Cox is vying for the position of Lady Vice Chairman.

00:52I feel at this time the PNM needs good leadership.
00:55I am a visionary.
00:56I'm a servant leader.
00:57And I feel that at this time, the party needs good leadership.
01:02The fact that we have lost the election, the party needs to rebuild.
01:06And I want to be part of that rebuilding process.
01:09Puerto Spain Mayor Chinua Alain, who is vying for the chairmanship of the party, said the PNM is not dead, but discipline is needed.
01:18One of my main focuses as well will be to rebuild our party groups, rebuild our connection and the trust with communities, represent the grassroots voice in the party's leadership, and support the political leaders' vision, plans, policies, programs, make sure that the movement is ready for our next general election battle in 2030 or before.
01:38And before that, we have a local government election that we have to fight, so we need all hands on deck.
01:45This is all a test of leadership, and I mean, we suffered a really scary defeat, and the fact is, it's leadership that will take us forward.
