Former PNM Member of Parliament for Tobago West Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis believes the People's National Movement (PNM) Tobago Council can make a comeback in Tobago under her leadership, despite the party losing fifteen nil to the Tobago People's Party (TPP), in the January 12th THA election.

Mrs. Cudjoe-Lewis spoke to TV6'S Elizabeth Williams and here is that report.

00:00So I've seen bad days in the People's National Movement, but I remember working under Dr. Rowley to restore the
00:07People's National Movement.
00:09So I am confident that we can do the work to make the comeback. It's all about being determined and
00:18being disciplined.
00:21We have to regain that discipline in the party.
00:27She said the people of Tobago spoke clearly on January 12th.
00:31Well, this is 2026. Hello. And some things must change. And some people must change.
00:39And the way we do things, the way we treat each other, the way we address certain issues must change.
00:46The people have spoken to us so clearly. If you're going to hear something real wrong with your ears.
00:53She said moving forward is not about power and or titles.
00:58While we are in opposition, the focus should not solely be on, oh, let's run a campaign to get back
01:03in power.
01:04It's not about power. It's not about title. It's about service to the people of Tobago.
01:09It's about responsibility and being a credible opposition.
01:15And only when you become a credible opposition, people are going to take you seriously as it relates to your
01:20policies and your direction and taking Tobago to the next level.
01:25She said the THA needs to address the issue of meaningful employment in Tobago.
