00:00Hello there and welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.

00:05It's Wednesday evening, we have seen a lot of rain through the last 24 hours particularly

00:09towards the west, all courtesy of an area of low pressure which is tracking its way

00:14northwards but notice the blues covering the country, the air remains rather cool.

00:19The winds will ease into Thursday, the flow is fairly slack towards the west though another

00:25area of low pressure is brewing, affecting some western parts as the winds pick up through

00:30Good Friday.

00:31Before that though, a rain warning until 9pm across Northern Ireland, that rain is easing

00:38towards the south as it moves northwards.

00:41Some persistent rain across the north and the west of Scotland, some showery bursts further

00:45south and notice a few showers just moving in across central southern parts of England.

00:50Inland where we see clearer skies though, temperatures dipping down to around 2 or 3 degrees

00:55Celsius.

00:56So a bit of a chilly start to the day come Thursday morning but for some, it will be bright with

01:01some sunshine.

01:02Always more clouds across Scotland and again this showery rain.

01:06The sun should come out across Northern England as well as Northern Ireland, so some brighter

01:10skies here.

01:11Showers never too far away and they will develop in situ across England and Wales, turning heavy

01:16at times but fairly scattered.

01:19Through the afternoon then, this showery rain becomes confined to central and northern areas

01:22of Scotland.

01:23Brighter skies further south as the cloud breaks up.

01:26But temperatures struggling a little bit, particularly where you see that cloud persist through the

01:30day.

01:3111 or 12 degrees Celsius for Scotland and Northern Ireland, 14 or 15 for Northern England and

01:36Wales.

01:3717 though down towards the home counties as well as the southeast.

01:42Now through Thursday evening and overnight, clearer skies.

01:45Yet again, it's going to be a chilly night.

01:47Notice towards the west, this area of low pressure brings some stronger winds towards the west

01:51country, much of Ireland as well.

01:54So some showery bursts of rain which could turn heavy as we head into Good Friday.

01:58Elsewhere after a chilly start, we'll see some fine weather, some sunshine coming through.

02:03So a better day around across central and eastern areas.

02:06Perhaps one or two showers just in the mix there as the cloud builds through the middle

02:10part of the day.

02:11Temperatures 16 or 17 degrees Celsius.

02:13So here's that low.

02:14The distribution of the rain is a little bit uncertain at the moment but certainly we will

02:19see some showery bursts as we head through into Saturday across more western and southern

02:23areas.

02:24Brighter skies further east and north.

02:26The air remains relatively cool though.

02:28And into Easter day, yes, some sunny breaks.

02:31Cloudier further west.

02:32There's a chance of some showers, particularly for Northern Ireland.

02:35But all in all, the bank holiday weekend is not a washout.

02:39There will be some fine weather around.

02:41There will be some sunshine.
