14 July - National forecast presented by Clare Nasir.
Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Tuesday morning.
00:03Rather chilly across central parts of Scotland, fresher across the northern part of the UK.
00:09So rather muggy though across more southern areas.
00:11Two showers possible this morning across the far southwest.
00:14They could have a thundery element to them.
00:16High pressure in charge, but it's the orientation of the high which will determine how it feels today.
00:21A bit fresher along this east coast, northeast England, eastern parts of Scotland, the far north.
00:25Very warm across the west, hot across more southern areas.
00:28And certainly that will be the case again tomorrow.
00:31Notice though through the morning a brisk breeze.
00:34A bit gusty over the hills as well as along the coastline across England and Wales.
00:38Certainly central and southern areas of the east coast.
00:40And this cloud as well which will break up across east Wales, the Midlands quite quickly.
00:45And it could hang on along the east coast for a time.
00:47But even so, even here you should see some fine weather if not some sunny spells.
00:51We could see the cloud a bit more southern across Shetland but it should break up across Orkney.
00:55Now here are your temperatures through this afternoon.
00:58Yet again, we could see temperatures into the 30s across central southern parts of England and Wales.
01:03The high 20s further north.
01:05Along this east coast, northeast England, eastern parts of Scotland.
01:08Yes, the high teens.
01:1022 is possible for places such as East Yorkshire.
01:13And further south for Norfolk, 27 degrees Celsius.
01:17Ayrshire, Dunfrees and Galloway.
01:19That's where we have seen the highest temperatures recently.
01:21And we could see a 26 here.
01:23Certainly along this western side.
01:24Very warm indeed.
01:25Northern Ireland, 23, 24 Celsius.
01:28And you don't have to go very far inland across Aberdeenshire as well as Angus to see those higher temperatures.
01:34It's really just along the coastline here with an onshore breeze.
01:37So some lovely weather to end the day across most parts of the UK through this afternoon.
01:41With some high UV levels and also some high levels of pollen.
01:46That breeze is with us through this evening and overnight.
01:49Bringing with it that cloud from the North Sea yet again.
01:52So we could see it just drifting inland like last night.
01:57Some clearer skies further west.
01:59Temperature's probably not as low as what they have been.
02:01Certainly this morning it's a chilly one for the glens.
02:04Temperature's a couple of degrees higher here.
02:06And notice this cloud could be a little bit lower across the Pennines as well as the southern uplands.
02:12Temperature's holding up then.
02:13Generally speaking the low to mid-teens.
02:16But the high teens further south.
02:17It's going to be uncomfortable for sleeping.
02:20Particularly if you're sheltered from the breeze coming in from the northeast.
02:24First thing then.
02:25Tomorrow morning you can see that cloud yet again burning away quite quickly through the morning.
02:31It could linger on across the Aberdeen coastline.
02:33But even here some brighter breaks as well as for Orkney.
02:37A little more cloud perhaps at times towards the far southwest.
02:40Notice those showers lingering on.
02:42Just lurking towards the far southwest of the country.
02:45And there is a risk of thunder here.
02:47But they will be isolated.
02:49So into Wednesday evening after another hot day in the south.
02:53Very warm towards the west.
02:54We'll see that cloud migrate in again.
02:56So another very warm day as we head into Thursday with strong sunshine.
03:01Again we'll likely see temperatures reach the probably 30 across more central and southern areas.
03:08And the high 20s across western Scotland, Northern Ireland as well.
03:12And even along this east coast temperatures will be slightly higher.
03:15So coming in into the low 20s.
03:18Into Thursday evening and then Friday morning we see that cloud continue.
03:23More cloud for the Outer Hebrides through Friday.
03:26And here are your temperatures yet again.
03:28Probably a couple of degrees lower coming in the mid 20s.
03:32The high 20s towards the south.
03:34And as you can see here some fine weather to come across most of Scotland away from the far north.
03:38But the cloud could break at times.
03:40So all in all it's a settled week to come.
03:43A very warm if not hot week across many western and southern areas.
03:48And temperatures recovering along that east coast as well.
03:50See you later.
