00:00How about we switch it over to Major League Baseball?
00:02And if you love that seven-game World Series last year
00:05that ended in unbelievable fashion with the Dodgers winning a championship,
00:08we haven't had any repeats so far.
00:10It's been all Los Angeles Dodgers taking on the Toronto Blue Jays.
00:13And today, Shoya Ohton is going to go up against Dylan Seas.
00:15Two aces on the mound.
00:16Doesn't matter.
00:17Look at that price point here.
00:19Minus 164 for the Dodgers as a road favorite.
00:21And a total between 7.5 and 8, depending where you're shopping at.
00:25The Dodgers looking to sweep out Toronto after that exciting World Series last year, Joe.
00:29What's your spread line here for this one?
00:32The Blue Jays are about to get swept back-to-back series here, Donnie, at home at the Rodgers.
00:38Not good here for the Toronto Blue Jays.
00:42But it just feels, doesn't this feel like a cheap price with Ohton on the mound in this one here?
00:50But it's going to be a mid-afternoon game, right?
00:523 o'clock Eastern time, I think, is going to be the first pitch there.
00:56Dylan Seas, not exactly.
00:57Well, I mean, they kind of got him for this purpose, didn't they?
01:01That they got to be able to go ahead and throw at least somebody like this against Ohtoni.
01:07Well, all right.
01:08We're going to see if it was a good acquisition one way or the other.
01:11I have my doubts because it's the bats of the Blue Jays that have been letting them down here.
01:16Feels like an under is in store for this game.
01:19Yesterday, Eovaldi outdid George Kirby on the mound.
01:22Now we have Seattle and Texas going to play an afternoon game down in Texas.
01:26Wu is on the mound facing the lefty Gore, the favorite in this game slightly,
01:29but it is towards the Mariners, the road team here, Joe.
01:31Give or take minus 120 to minus 125, depending on where you're shopping at.
01:35And a total that is listed at eight.
01:37Seattle and Texas looking to do battle out in the AL West this season.
01:40We got an afternoon action game today.
01:42What is your spread line here, Joe?
01:45Normally, I'd like to say, give me the over, Donnie, but you can't.
01:49With these two guys on the mound here, I'm looking at an under again.
01:54Maybe an under in the afternoon.
01:56Major League Baseball.
01:57Full slate today.
01:58Love to see it.
01:58We'll be right back after this quick break.
02:01It's cold in April in some areas in the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest,
02:04and maybe there's a carryover from spring training that says,
02:07we're just not ramped up for full-time starters that are going up against our batters.
02:11We'll take a look at the worst batting averages in baseball.
02:13So far, Joe, almost had a sneeze right there at this point.
02:17188.
02:18That's how cold it is right now.
02:19188 is a batting average for the Seattle Mariners at four and seven on this season.
02:23But I got to tell you, Joe, look at this graphic.
02:25Two teams on this graphic are actually above 500.
02:28The Guardians at 193 and the Angels at 202.
02:32Slow starts, just to say the least here.
02:34Ew.
02:35Yeah, well, I mean, it's not fun hitting in 28 degrees, Donnie, with the wind blowing.
02:40It just, it kind of hurts, Donnie, to say the least.
02:44So, and we always know, Donnie, right?
02:46In some spots here, maybe the pitching a little bit ahead of the hitting right now,
02:51but we all know as the warmer weather starts to come,
02:55that kind of evens itself out here a little bit.
02:57All right, ready for the good topics right now.
02:59Now, I like to be the fashion police and say, you know what, swag up, swag down, drip looks good,
03:03drip doesn't look good.
03:05How about this one, Edwin Diaz, who rolled out the stretch yesterday in a brimless hat,
03:10just a regular Dodgers cap with the bill sliced off.
03:13He said, Tanner Scott started this trend.
03:15So let me ask you a question, Joe.
03:16We've all wore hats thousands of times in our life.
03:19When you want to take your hat off, Joe, answer me this question.
03:22How do you do it?
03:25Yeah, it's a great, it's a great point, Donnie.
03:28I mean, you know, I guess you'd have to ask a sous chef because that's kind of what he looks
03:33like with that hat on there.
03:34Like he's working the kitchen.
03:36So, like, what are you doing, man?
03:37You need to, like, there's got to be, it almost looks like it's a backwards hat, Donnie.
03:42But when, you know, there's nothing behind it.
03:45Like, what are you?
03:47Yeah.
03:47Yeah, no, no, no, not a fan.
03:49Not, not for the players.
03:50Not a fan.
03:51It's a little thin ski cap, can get away and do the same exact thing.
03:55Like, when I take my hat off, I don't grab the top of my head and pull it off.
03:58I hold the bill, the brim, and take it off quite easily.
04:01There is no brim on that hat.
04:03I don't know how you take it off, but then wrestling with your head to tear it off.
04:07Stupid look.
04:08Please go away.
04:09But now that you see, on this, now, are we going to the next level, Joe,
04:13where we're going to take your kid or take your friend or your whoever to a ball game?
04:17Dad, let me get a hat.
04:19All right, let's go in there.
04:20And we'll get you that Phillies hat, that Dodgers hat, that Nationals hat.
04:23No, no, no, Dad.
04:24I want the brimless hat.
04:25Is this going to work, Joe?
04:27It can't work, can it?
04:28No, no.
04:30It won't work.
04:30I don't know who's buying.
04:31I would not buy that, Donnie.
04:33And I love, you know, I'm a hat guy, and I would never in a million years own one of
04:37those.
04:37Not happening.
04:38By the way, by the way, like 90, so we'll use the fashion out here.
04:4290% of the people like to wear hats, too, because when you go outside, it protects your eyes from
04:48the sun.
04:49There's a reason why Major League Baseball players don't wear a brimless cap in the outfield, because it protects you
04:55from the sun.
04:56This is ludicrous on more levels than one here, but always happy to comment when the fashion police need to
05:01arrest somebody,
05:02and please arrest Diaz for this ridiculous fashion faux pas.
05:06How about Kate Horton going to have some surgery on his UCLA?
05:08UCL, excuse me, add the A in there.
05:10Actually, you know what, Joe?
05:11Did we start something here?
05:12He's going to have a UCLA at this point right now.
05:14Tough scene for Kate Horton.
05:17Is it kind of ironic that he's actually having the UCL surgery at UCLA Medical?
05:24Oh, wow.
05:25Could that actually be ironic?
05:27I'm just saying, that's kind of crazy there, Donnie, that you pulled that out there.
05:31You're just one step ahead of it there, but bad luck.
05:34I just, not good.
05:35See it all the time.
05:36And you hate to see it, too.
05:38You really do.
05:40Nah, it's a tough scene at this point here.
05:41We'll keep rolling along.
05:42By the way, have you ever felt like, you know, I'm in the Big Apple,
05:45and now I'm going to go to the tiniest apple in Sacramento?
05:48Take a look at what McNeil's going through with the A's.
05:50What have the past few months been like for you, especially just being with the Mets for your entire career?
05:55Yeah, it's been, you know, it's been crazy.
05:58You know, just getting traded and, you know, spending seven years with the Mets.
06:03You know, I enjoyed my time over there, and, you know, nothing but great things to say about that organization.
06:08But, you know, got traded and, you know, love it over here.
06:12And, you know, we've got a great group of guys over here, and we're having a lot of fun.
06:15And, you know, it's been nice.
06:18Dude got sent to Siberia.
06:20That's where he got sent.
06:21And he just was trying to be really nice about it at this point.
06:24He goes, I was living in New York City.
06:25Now I'm in Sacramento, and the fans don't even understand where we play, where we're going to play.
06:30And, by the way, in a couple years, I won't even be in this city either, and neither will this
06:34team.
06:38And just as many postseason games as the Mets are this year, which is zero.
06:42So don't worry about it.
06:43You're all good to go, man.
06:45You ain't missing much over there.
06:46Enjoy your time out, West.
06:48And, by the way, too, Joe, it's not like you got New York City.
06:51It does have high taxes, but California is on a completely different level.
06:54Like, not only do you get traded from New York City to podunk Sacramento, and they get drilled with taxes
06:59and play in a ballpark that seats like 1,500 people, and then they tell you you got to buy
07:03another place in Las Vegas and get ready for the move.
07:05Just the way it is, Joe.
07:06By the way, Carlos Santana placed on the IR.
07:09Two for 24 this season.
07:10Former Philadelphia Phillies great here.
07:13Struggling there with some injury situations.
07:15It's Major League Baseball season.
07:17It's Masters season.
07:17It's time to have fun.
07:19We'll continue to roll along on the early line coming up next.
07:22Kevin, quickly, athletics and your Yankees tonight.
07:24Yanks, 8-2 on the season.
07:26Severino Warren.
07:27And he looks on a heavy favor for the Yanks tonight.
07:29Quick, quick, quick.
07:30Yanks, regular season juggernauts.
07:32Judge bounces back after doing nothing yesterday.
07:34That's a pro.
07:35That's a pro right there.
07:36It's Kevin Wallace.
07:37Catch him and Gabriel Morenci tonight, 6 p.m. Eastern on Getty.
07:40Time.
07:42The world is your oyster, Joe.
07:49Joe, where do we go tonight for a best bet that Joe Ranieri's smoking hot with a plus
07:53money winner yesterday on a run, an unsuspecting run line on the Orioles, Joe.
07:58Where do we go tonight?
08:01Well, yeah, I just want to make sure that we're on the scene.
08:04We are.
08:04Okay, good.
08:05So, let's go Yankees.
08:06Yep.
08:07Let's go.
08:08We're going to go Yankees A's.
08:09And we are going to look at the over here, especially with two pitchers on the mound.
08:16Both bullpens have had some work here over the first couple of days.
08:20So, I think Severino and Warren, they're going to need these guys to go a little bit
08:24longer than maybe they're going to be capable of going.
08:28Listen, I don't see any reason why against these two guys we can't get some runs with
08:34these two liners.
08:35We had eight last night, and that was actually rather easy.
08:39I think, even without Judge hitting there last night, I think he can bounce back here
08:44against Severino.
08:45I think the Yankees are primed for six or seven runs alone here.
08:49I like their team total and the game to go over here tonight.
08:54Eight and a half, Joe.
08:55I'm surprised the graphic didn't say all total.
08:57Ten and a half.
08:57And really get the party started in the Bronx tonight at around seven o'clock here.
09:01Let's flip it over to Major League Baseball.
09:03We'll include another Los Angeles team.
09:04That's the Dodgers on the road to take on the Toronto Blue Jays.
09:08Otani is on the mound today to take on Cease, a really good matchup.
09:11And also, the Dodgers may be looking for a sweep over Toronto.
09:14They are the favorites in the Couchie marketplace.
09:16A 61% chance to win this game outright, so a $100 investment would pay back $162.
09:23And if we're looking at some of those options to hit home runs, how about Freddie Freeman?
09:27You think he goes yard tonight, Joe?
09:28A $100 investment would pay you back $715.
09:33Not a bad look there, Donnie.
09:36Not a bad look at all.
09:38Listen, this is interesting with Otani and Cease, right?
09:42A couple of aces.
09:43Toronto went out and got Dylan Cease.
09:45To be this kind of guy, they got to stop the bleeding.
09:48The problem is they can't hit right now.
09:50And I don't know that they're going to hit any against Otani either.
09:54I tend to lean to the Dodgers maybe in the first five.
09:58But I also wouldn't be opposed to a strikeout prop here with Otani.
10:04I think he can get a few in this game here.
10:08So that's how I would look.
10:09And maybe, just maybe, I don't know, a Freddie Freeman home run.
10:13He's been crushing the ball lately.
10:16L.A. after a hot start, or it started getting off to a hot start, which everybody expected.
10:20Toronto Blue Jays, ice cold to start the season.
10:22Not a lot of people expected that.
10:24Look, Toronto maybe having that hangover from the World Series.
10:27Big win today.
10:27Could happen, but they're going to have to knock off Otani, as we said.
10:30Seattle and Texas, afternoon Major League Baseball today, Joe.
10:332.35 p.m. Eastern start.
10:35The favor of this game, it's Seattle.
10:36Currently trading at 54%, followed by Texas at 46%.
10:41And this one, Joe, afternoon action in Texas here.
10:44And these are two teams that we figure will battle each other all summer long for AL West Supremacy.
10:50Yeah, and both these teams right now can't hit water if they fell out of a boat, Donnie.
10:54So you've got Brian Wu, who's got no problem missing bats in this spot here.
11:00And it feels like another one of these.
11:02Be willing to take a strikeout prop.
11:04Also be willing to look at less runs, not exactly more runs in here.
11:10What was it?
11:113-2 last night.
11:13On Monday, it was 2-1.
11:14Are you sensing a theme here?
11:16It feels like with these two guys on the mound, yeah, maybe an under here today.
11:22Julio Rodriguez, you think he hits a home run today?
11:24Currently only trading, Joe, at 15 cents here.
11:26100L investment pays back 667.
11:28Wow, why are these numbers so low?
11:30Well, it's pretty simple.
11:31You're getting some good pitchers on the mound and struggling offenses here.
11:33You can also take out contracts on the know if you feel these guys certainly won't go york.
11:38But let's also take a look, Joe.
11:40Getting into the market of Major League Baseball, pro baseball, players to be traded.
11:45That's kind of early for that, no?
11:46It's sitting in the early months of April at this point.
11:49Maybe some guys get upset with that.
11:50How about Adley Rutschman here of Baltimore?
11:52If they falter, could he be on the market?
11:54He's actually currently trading to be traded at 75 cents right now.
11:58Fernando Tatis out there in San Diego, Joe, a 50% clip.
12:02How about Gunnar Henderson in Baltimore?
12:04Had a 50% clip at this point here.
12:06Never too early to talk about the trade market if teams falter.
12:09And also, Joe, a looming CBA argument for December 1st, 2026.
12:17Isn't everybody tradable, Donnie?
12:19Isn't that what?
12:20Oh, no, it's a wrong sport.
12:21I'm sorry.
12:21No, no, no.
12:22It's the same sport.
12:23Yes, it's the same across the board.
12:26Anybody is tradable.
12:27I'll tell you who I think is tradable.
12:29How about Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins, Donnie?
12:33I don't know what his price is, but the guy goes nine innings yesterday,
12:38gets a shutout, has to go, and then his team ends up losing
12:41in extra innings once again.
12:43I think Alcantara's days are numbered in Miami.
12:46I think he'll be wearing a Yankees uniform before it's all said and done.
12:50And by the way, he already did thank the fan or fans that were actually
12:54in the stadium last time he had a dominant performance.
12:56And they won the baseball game there in Miami.
12:58Could it be on the move?
12:59Everybody loves to look at pitching.
13:01He's going to be a sought-after player, no doubt about it, this season.
13:04If we take a look at the market to make the postseason on Polymarket,
13:08I'll go down to my Philadelphia Phillies, currently trading at a 50% chance.
13:12But if you want to buy in, you'll know, that contract, it's actually 69 cents.
13:16The Phillies that make the playoffs, $100 investment, pays back $139.
13:21Early, yes.
13:22Phillies got clubbed last night.
13:23Yes, they did, but the Phillies making the playoffs here, Joe.
13:26Sound investment to pick up about $40 and hold on to it for six months, no?
13:31Not a bad way to go.
13:33What about Pittsburgh, Donnie?
13:35Could Pittsburgh actually make the playoffs here in a spot?
13:41I think that's going to be also, I know that's going to be the public darling there.
13:46Everyone's going to want Pittsburgh and be rooting for them there.
13:48But, hey, listen, there's a lot to be excited about for Pittsburgh, that's for sure.
13:54How about this?
13:55Lowest ERA in Major League Baseball.
13:57You can invest in that and your usual suspects, they're going to be up top.
14:00It's early in the season.
14:01Tarek Skubal did take a loss yesterday, but still trading.
14:03Joe currently has the favorite as a 23% chance to get that done.
14:07Paul Skeens was fantastic yesterday and also very good in the start.
14:11Previous before that opening day, which really wasn't his fault.
14:14He sits at 17% in the Philadelphia Phillies' Christopher Sanchez at 13% early in the season.
14:19But, as I said, Joe, the usual suspects up top here.
14:24Yeah, and, I mean, it's not a shock.
14:26I mean, again, Paul Skeens, I mean, you know, Skubal lost 1-0, I think, his last start.
14:32It was a 4-2 game yesterday, but I don't think he gave up more than a run.
14:37And it's, yeah, I mean, Skubal is the likely choice, but so is Alcantara.
14:43Again, 24 innings before yesterday, he made it without giving up an earned run.
14:47He's a guy to keep an eye on.
14:49Both Cy Young market as well.
14:51Home run leaders, we love to talk about it.
14:53Last year, we had a couple guys pulverizing baseballs, which include Cal Raleigh in the American League
14:57and Kyle Schwarber in the National League.
14:59If we look at it this season, Aaron Judge still listed at the favorite at 33%,
15:03followed by Shwayo Tani and Kyle Schwarber at 15%.
15:06But if we do look at the current standings here for top home runs in Major League Baseball,
15:11Shea Langeleers, 5.
15:12Chase DeLauder, the young rookie here for the Guardians, he has 5.
15:15And also Drake Baldwin, Atlanta, young player, 5 home runs as well.
15:20Jordan Alvarez, Joe, sits at 4 home runs so far in the season.
15:23If you think he can get the job done, it's actually only 9 cents that he's trading at.
15:28$100 investment would pay back $1,112 if Alvarez can lead the way.
15:33Any thoughts for you, Joe?
15:34Who can lead Major League Baseball this year in home runs?
15:37No, he's a guy you definitely need to keep an eye on.
15:40If he stays healthy, don't forget.
15:42I mean, he wasn't healthy last year, and it's kind of out of sight, out of mind.
15:45But the guy's one of the most preeminent power hitters in all of Major League Baseball,
15:49plays in a park that's conducive.
15:52I like Alvarez at that price, Donnie, because he can go on a tear,
15:57and they'll come in bunches, and you can make some money quickly there in that market.
16:02And also, you can take the no contracts on these players here.
16:06If you feel Aaron Judge, hey, I get everybody in Major League Baseball but Aaron Judge,
16:10and you pick the no, $100 investment pays back $137.
16:13Doesn't sound like a lot, but you get 1,000 baseball players versus one baseball player.
16:17All it takes, Joe.
16:19One IEL stint for two weeks, and you probably can have that wrapped up here.
16:22And that'll wrap up the show on Prediction Markets Edge on the early line.
16:25We'll see you on a Thursday.
16:27Enjoy the rest of your day.
