00:00Friday spread lines here on a good Friday. It's the early line. It's the Sports Grid Network. It's
00:04Sonny Wrightside. It's Joe Ranieri. A lot of afternoon baseball games because some teams still
00:07Joe haven't had their opening days at home. That's going to change today. The Miami Marlins on the
00:13road and playing damn good baseball, taking on the New York Yankees, playing damn good baseball
00:17right now. Perez versus Warren, a heavy favorite for those Yankees now up to minus 178 to minus
00:24185 at most outlets here and a total listed at eight. The Bronx is burning today with opening
00:29day, Joe. Give me a spread line today for Marlins Yanks. Yeah, interesting. We actually saw some
00:35overnight under money come in, Donnie. So I don't know if that's a weather issue or what's going on
00:40there because I know you've got two pitchers here. Will Warren, who still, you know, he has his moments
00:46and then he has, you know, a lot more. Oh boy, is that another home run kind of moment there?
00:52But
00:52nobody has got crazier home road splits a year ago than Yuri Perez did. He was great at Marlins Park.
00:59He was not good at the on the road, Donnie. In fact, he was terrible on the road. Now he's
01:05got
01:05to go to Yankee Stadium. Like you said, Yankees are playing some tremendous baseball. I thought
01:10this would be a little bit higher if we're not lying. I thought this would be closer to $2 here,
01:15Donnie. But the Marlins have been playing some good baseball here. But the Yankees at home
01:20afternoon, kind of tough to kind of tough not to look their way here at this point.
01:25Yeah, about 60 degree temperatures, Joe. Light wind blowing out the left field. Can
01:29it change for Aaron Judge hitting a buck 25 on the season? Still the MVP favorite. Maybe
01:34gets on track today, but a good game setting up there between Miami and New York here.
01:38Let's go up just a couple hundred miles north. Why? San Diego going to take on those Boston
01:42Red Sox. King versus Gray. Take a look at this line, Joe. Overnight around a minus 115 price.
01:47That's risen slightly here in Boston's favorite. See the graphic at a minus 124 price and a total
01:52let's get an eight and a half. King versus Gray. Boston gets his day in the sun. Similar
01:57temperatures to New York. What's your spread line here? Yeah. Well, I mean, Boston better figure
02:01something out, Donnie, because maybe it's a little home cooking that they need, but it's not like
02:06they're rolling out their ace. They, oh, they did that with crochet and still got lit up there
02:11by, and couldn't win that game against Houston. So now they're going to try against the Padres who might,
02:18might be a good thing for them to get away a little bit. Maybe they can score
02:21a few more runs here, but listen, Boston, that lineup is much better than they have put
02:27forward here. After that opening win in game one against, you know, they three, nothing. It was a
02:34shutout and everybody thought the world was, everything's right with the world with Boston.
02:38No, four straight losses. Now they go home. Michael King, both of these pictures, I don't trust.
02:44It's very hard for me to look at anything other than an over though in this game, Donnie,
02:49because I don't trust either. The bullpens are good, but I don't trust either starter. So it
02:54would look first five over for me in this game. One thing I don't remember in my life, Joe,
02:58is my call up to the major leagues here to get my first start and have some fun. It wasn't
03:03in
03:03hockey. It wasn't in football. It wasn't in basketball, but the Pittsburgh Pirates are
03:07bringing up one of the best young prospects in major league baseball today on a Friday.
03:12Connor Griffin expected to be caught up by the Pirates ahead of their home opener on Friday.
03:16That's how you do it here. The interesting part was though, Joe, I think they were waiting to
03:20bring him up because they wanted him to sign one of those team friendly. We're going to buy out your
03:24arbitration years. If you get really good, it's a bargain. If not, it won't hurt us that bad.
03:28They weren't able to come to an agreement there, but he is up here and ready to go.
03:32Yeah. And I know a lot of people again, Donnie were waiting, um, hoping that he would have started
03:38anyway, the season up on the roster here, but I listen, we're a weekend and this is what,
03:42for some reason teams do. It's kind of the stupidest thing that, uh, that we see year after
03:48year. But I mean, listen, he, he does strike out a lot, but it looks like if he's not striking
03:53out,
03:53he is absolutely mashing the ball. It's a market worth keeping a look at Donnie. We'll talk more
03:59about it on, on PME, but I'm telling you this kid at this price, there's some decent rookie of the
04:06years, but I don't know that anybody's got the kind of power that this kid does. And if they're
04:12going to keep them up and play them, I, he's certainly going to get a lot of eyeballs because
04:17of somebody who pitches on that team. Let's just say that. Isn't that great? Like the contract,
04:21like restraints, like we're going to bring you up in week two of the season. We just don't think
04:25you're ready for game. Major league baseball has got so many funny little intricacies where we
04:30don't want to pay. We'll bring you up on opening day. Your time won't start enough in time,
04:33enough of the man, at least that kid's up in the major leagues, but he should have been there
04:37on opening day. People, let's be honest. The Yankees starters, Joe have allowed just two
04:41earned runs, which is a 0.53, excuse me, 0.53 ERA through the first six games of the season,
04:48wheeling and dealing in New York.
04:52They are good, Donnie. I mean, and listen, the best is yet to come, right? I mean, they still got,
04:57they still got a couple of guys. They're planning on, uh, on meeting them here right around that June,
05:02July era. So on timeframe, I mean, they got called, they got Rodon still coming back here,
05:08but so far early returns, very good. And they're staying healthy. And it's nice to see that Devin
05:14Williams is not being called to blow games late. So yeah, it's a, it's a good time here for New
05:19York.
05:20Model of consistencies, Joe, that shows how good an organization is from top to bottom from their
05:25major league players all the way through. They bring up from their minor league system. Did you know the
05:29Los Angeles Dodgers haven't had back-to-back losing seasons since 86, 87? That's fantastic.
05:35But then you take a look at the St. Louis Cardinals, 1958, 1959, the last time they had
05:43back-to-back losing seasons here. Let's see what they can do this year, Joe. That's a pretty impressive
05:48feat to say, you know, fan base, you've got something to cheer for just about every damn year.
05:53Yeah, they do. Uh, and I think Donnie, I mean, talk about the epitome of consistent,
05:59right? It's just a good, it's a great baseball town. One of the baseball town, anybody that's
06:05been to St. Louis there, I mean, they love their baseball. Sorry, blues fans. Uh, but they love
06:10their Cardinals and that organization has done it right for decades, uh, Donnie. And that's why
06:17even on some down years really aren't that they're not like Colorado Rockies down. Like even the down
06:23years don't last that long, but my goodness, they are, uh, they are certainly the epitome. I don't know
06:28why other teams don't follow. You know, if it seems to be working for as long as it's been
06:34working, something tells me I'd like to mimic my organization kind of like, Oh, I don't know
06:38what the Cardinals have done over the last hundred years. Exactly. Back to major league baseball on the
06:44field. The big dumper. He's taking a dump to start the season. Joe Cal Raleigh from 15 Ks on the
06:50early
06:50season. What did you work on in spring training camp? What did you do in the all season cow? He's
06:57some contact. I got to tell you those, uh, those predictive market tickets. I have Donnie on
07:03fading him on home runs, uh, fading him on bad. I mean, it's so far so good. Early returns,
07:10pretty good on fading Cal Raleigh across the board here early yet, but, uh, not looking like
07:16the same Cal Raleigh from six months ago, is he? Look, set your alarms. People. Why the Minnesota
07:21twins are telling you to do that here. It's the home opener. Not a lot of expectations for the twins
07:25this year, but maybe come out on opening day and have some fun. No. Yeah, I guess. I mean,
07:32if you just want, well, yeah, I mean, I'm sure you'll be disappointed by the breakfast as well
07:36as the season for the twins. Cause it's not likely going to go very well for you.
07:41Although nice win. By the way, Joe, speaking of alarms here, don't sleep through your alarm here.
07:48How about this? Carter Jensen. We're expecting big things from the kid. Wake up kid. Wake up.
07:54Yeah, I mean, six year old catcher who's preparing today and then his world gets a little rocked
08:00that an hour and a half before the game, he's not going to be not going to be the aging.
08:04So
08:05you credit the salary today for being ready.
08:10First and foremost, we're glad Carter's okay. Right. I mean, that was kind of the initial thought
08:14when you're trying to get ahold of his parents and everything like that to him. Just make sure
08:18it's okay. But once you find out he's okay, it's like, all right, it's a growing moment. He's really
08:23young. There are some things that cannot happen. And that's one of them. So he's going to have to
08:27wear it on the chin the same way anybody would have to. So it can happen. And, you know, hopefully
08:35it doesn't happen again, but it's one of those things that you just, you can't afford mistakes
08:39like that in this game. So just got to, just got to move forward the best that he can. I
08:44know he,
08:45I know he feels really bad. I know that it was not his favorite drive to the field this morning,
08:49but it wasn't our favorite morning either. I'm trying to figure out what was going on. So,
08:54you know, he'll learn from it and grow up a little bit. And, you know, we're here for him
08:57though. It's not like where anybody's mad at him. Things happen, but you got to, you got to learn
09:02from mistakes like that and maybe get another alarm clock or something at home.
09:06Help me out. Help me out with this here because that was like a real somber locker room right
09:10there. It's like, Hey, we had to call his parents. We were really concerned about him. Like people
09:14do oversleep, but was this like he, he overslept for the night game or nobody went to his house or
09:19nobody just went to knock on his door and say, Hey, he overslept a little bit. That sounded like
09:23they were scared to death that he did something to himself or maybe went missing. I must be missing
09:29some of the info here. No, I, it feels like there's more to this story. Uh, yeah, because that,
09:35that, you know, that whole interview there and that whole, that looked, I don't know if there
09:40was something else going on where they mad at the game or, and just asked them at the wrong time,
09:45because it feels like there might be something else behind the scenes in that story.
09:51Like, yeah, like people show up late to work at times when I had car trouble when he got there.
09:55I look, I honestly, my alarm didn't go off. I'm sorry. I'm here at this point that made it look
09:59like
10:00either. He was like two or three hours late, showed up and was like, Hey, I, what happened?
10:06I don't know. It really, like something had to go on that. We don't know about. Otherwise we're
10:09like, Hey man, Rook missed his alarm. No big deal. He had to pay a fine. He'll be back with
10:13us
10:13tomorrow. No big deal. That sounded a little bit different here. You know what else sounds
10:17different? Coming back after the break, getting more hot topics.
10:25Give the people what they want, Joe. It's a Friday night. We got baseball. We got hockey. We got
10:29basketball. Where do we go? Well, uh, I mean, let's face it here. I hate to do this. Um, and
10:37I don't
10:37know what that is, but I'm going to go with the, I'm going to go with the New York Mets,
10:43not the Nets,
10:44the New York Mets tonight against the Giants. I just don't want the Mets to be confused with the
10:52Nets, but the New York Mets tonight, taking on the Giants. Listen, the New York Mets are batting
11:00155 with runners in scoring position this year. They are 11 for 71 through the seven games.
11:08They lost again last night by, because Chapman hits a ball down the line that barely hits the chalk.
11:16And that was how that game was, was blown open here. But listen, the Mets are far too talented of
11:22a lineup for this to continue. They got McLean on the mound here today. I'm not buying Tyler Molle in
11:29any way, shape or form. Yes. He had a good year last year, but I don't expect him to have
11:34the same
11:35kind of season this year. I think the Mets bats come alive in this game. They are not going to
11:40hit 155 forever with runners in scoring position. I like McLean to limit the Giants. I'll take the
11:47Mets at a pretty decent price at about minus 120. Prediction market's edge on the early line. Joe,
11:54let's keep the power on today on a good Friday. And that's our job at Sonny Wright's side. And it's
11:59Joe Ranieri and away we go, Joe, a different way to take a look at some of these games to
12:04invest your
12:04money. How about that? I am ready to go, Donnie. I think there's a lot of great opportunities
12:10on the board heading into this weekend and a lot of major league baseball future opportunities in
12:17the predictive markets. How about we head right over to the Bronx and get a look at the Miami
12:21Marlins. Oh, that team stinks taking on the Yankees. No, they don't. They started off very
12:25well this season. They're going to invade the Bronx today, but the New York Yankees currently trading as
12:29they should be as a favorite today, Joe. 60% chance to win this game on Cal. She 40%
12:35to the
12:35Miami Marlins. If you're looking at some more options here, Joe, the Yerfies and the Nerfies
12:39also available, but those Yanks are the favorite. So if you invest a hundred dollars on the Yankees
12:44just to win this baseball game, it returns back a hundred and fifty nine dollars, Joe.
12:50It's kind of, it's interesting here because the Marlins have been much better than people
12:56thought they were going to be. Although I think the schedule has worked into their favor,
13:00Donnie. We've talked about that, but this is, I think a totally different ball game here.
13:05And Yuri Perez great at Marlins park last year, awful on the road, usually getting tattooed here.
13:13So, uh, listen, will Warren has had moments, but I don't necessarily trust him, uh, to limit this
13:19Marlins, uh, this young Marlins lineup. That's done a pretty good job of scoring runs.
13:23Feels like this total is a little light, uh, Donnie. I like the Yankees team total in this
13:28market, as well as the full game total up and over here as well. See if we wake up the
13:34MVP from
13:34last year was Aaron judge, not a great start to the season at one 25, but back in his home
13:39ballpark,
13:39slight wind blowing out to left field. We'll see if that makes a difference today. Let's head on up
13:43the bean town, the San Diego Padres in town to take on the Boston Red Sox. Boston currently the
13:48favorite here, Joe trading at a 53% chance to win this game. The underdog San Diego
13:53Padres at 47%. If you want to include the run line here, how about San Diego to win by one
13:59and a
14:00half runs, flip it over. That's 36 cents here. A hundred dollar investment pays back to 78 for
14:05the Padres to win by two big day in Boston Padres versus the track versus the, excuse me, Red Sox.
14:13Yeah, it has not been, uh, not been good. I mean, after that opening win, what three, nothing,
14:18they started the year off and everyone thought things were going to, you know, it was going to go well,
14:22but when crochet can't bail you out against the Astros and stop the bleeding. Now they got to go
14:28home and they're going to need Sonny Gray to do it. And I don't, don't trust that at all. Listen,
14:34Michael King, uh, is still working through some things after that injury from a year ago. Don't
14:41necessarily trust him here in this spot on the road and a hitter's ballpark. I think the over is in
14:47play
14:47here. I think Boston's going to be able to score some runs. I don't think either of these two
14:51pitchers are going to shut either lineup down, but I, both bullpens are pretty good, Donnie. So I
14:57would look at a first five over and a team total for the Red Sox up and over in the
15:03first five as
15:04well. And also in these predictive markets, particularly with Kalski here, you can get
15:08down the same way you can with sports books here. You think guys are going to home runs. You can
15:11take
15:11that hits runs and RBIs. You can take those as well. For neither to tease Joe, I think there's going
15:15to
15:15be run scored that and he goes yard. It's currently trading at 17% here, which means a hundred dollar
15:21investment pays back $589.
