00:00Hello there, good afternoon. You may have noticed there was a bit more cloud across

00:04the skies this morning, particularly after all the winter sunshine we had yesterday.

00:09Still feeling rather cold though, that's all thanks to this area of high pressure around

00:13Scandinavia, really dragging in some quite brisk easterly winds at times, adding on to

00:18the wind chill this afternoon. Also an occluded feature, just starting to push up across the

00:22south and south east, so that's where it's going to be quite a damp afternoon on offer.

00:26Showers sometimes merging into longer spells of rain at times across the parts of the south

00:31and south east could be quite heavy at times through into the English Channel. That will

00:35slowly push its way up across southern parts of the Midlands, largely dry to the north

00:39of this though, but still plenty of cloud around best of the brightness just to the

00:43northwest of Scotland, perhaps the northwest of Northern Ireland. But it is still going

00:48to be feeling cold. Highs currently looking like they're going to be around five to six

00:51Celsius across parts of this south and south east. But if I add on that wind chill as a

00:56result of those very brisk easterly winds, this is more like what the temperatures are

00:59going to feel like. So even where we do see more sunnier spots today, it is still going

01:04to be feeling rather chilly. Now through into the evening and overnight, this area of rain

01:10starting to push its way more northwestwards and you can see starting to fall as snow,

01:14particularly across the high ground of Wales. Parts of the Peak District too could also

01:19see some flurries of snow across high ground. So that's something we are keeping an eye

01:23on. But at the moment it does look like most of the snow should be confined to hills and

01:27high ground and most of the rain across the south and southeast turning to areas of light

01:31rain and drizzle. Once again, remaining largely dry to the northwest with some clear spells.

01:36That's where we're likely to see some frosty conditions overnight, but even starting to

01:39see a few more showers starting to move in to the northeast of England and Scotland too

01:44by the time we reach Saturday morning. So once again, not remaining completely dry here,

01:49but a fairly chilly night on offer. Plenty of cloud around, largely keeping towns and

01:52cities just above zero. That's away from the northwest of Scotland where we could see

01:56some frost by the morning. So a chilly start to Saturday. Some damp spots in places. Still

02:03a chance we could see some winteriness across the hills of Wales and parts of northern England

02:07too. And there's still going to be some rain at times, particularly across the south central

02:12areas. Fairly light though and still have plenty of showers moving into the northeast

02:16of Scotland and also England. Once again, the best of the brightness just to the northwest

02:21of Scotland, perhaps even parts of Northern Ireland too could see some sunnier spells.

02:26Temperatures across the south and southeast a degree or two higher. Highs of around seven

02:30to eight Celsius, but still those brisk easterly winds continuing. So it's still going to feel

02:35like a chilly start to the weekend. Then after that, well, we're still under the influence

02:40of the Scandinavian high, so those easterly winds are set to continue. Once again, we

02:45could see some showers at times. Still, our chances could be wintry across high ground.

02:50Still feeling chilly in those brisk winds and likely once again to see plenty of cloud

02:54around, perhaps even some sunshine across the northwest of the country. For more details
