00:00Hello there, good morning, and welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office.
00:05Low pressure has been dominating our weather right through the weekend,
00:08but this week that low pressure system moves out the way.
00:11We're between weather systems today, ahead of the next day of low pressure,
00:15bringing some rain later on Tuesday, particularly across western parts.
00:19But this morning, a chilly start, but a sunny start for many of us.
00:23A patchy frost in places.
00:24There are still some showers around, particularly around the coasts, and it is April.
00:28So as we go through the day today, we'll see those shower clouds bubble up across the whole of the
00:33UK.
00:34It'll be another day of sunny spells and showers.
00:36Some of the showers could be heavy at times, the risk of some hail and thunder in there too.
00:41Winds generally lighter though than the weekend, so it means those showers will be slower moving.
00:46But in the sunshine, if you avoid the showers, temperatures not too bad for the time of year,
00:51reaching highs of 13 to 15 Celsius.
00:54So feeling pleasant away from those showers.
00:57As we move through into the evening time, those showers will continue for a time,
01:01but we lose the heat of the sun as it starts to set.
01:04Those showers fade away, and we'll see lengthening clear skies as we head overnight.
01:09And again, fairly chilly air mass.
01:11We'll see temperatures drop away.
01:13Towns and cities close to freezing in the countryside just below.
01:17However, there is a change.
01:18Thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain starting to push into the far southwest during the early hours.
01:23So temperatures here not quite as low.
01:24But it does mean a cloudy damp start to the day for parts of the west country Wales.
01:28Elsewhere, a chilly but sunny start.
01:30And then slowly through the day, bands of cloud and showy rain push north and eastwards.
01:34The best of the sunshine holding on across eastern England through until mid-afternoon,
01:39and then till the end of the day across central and northern parts of Scotland.
01:42And temperatures overall just rising a little higher as we start to import some warmer air.
01:48So more widely, 13 to 16 Celsius.
01:51A little fresher still across northern Scotland, but with sunshine here to compensate,
01:55not feeling too bad with generally light winds just starting to get a little blustery around the coasts.
02:02Through the rest of the week, it remains changeable.
02:05We will see further showers at times, some longer spells of rain,
02:08but there will also be some pleasant spells of sunshine in between.
02:11And temperatures always likely to remain a little above average.
02:15Generally, the mid-teens are locally nearer to the high teens towards the east and southeast at times too.
02:21If you'd like more information on this over the next few days, the week ahead of weather,
