04:43Guys, when he was on the podium and I was interviewing him there in the last race,
04:46he said, you know, what's your takeaway of where you're at?
04:49And he said off camera, he's like, well, I do have to remember,
04:52this is only my tenth day back riding Supercross.
04:55And it just put it in perspective for me where he's been at, where he's gotten to, excuse me,
05:01after that injury that you guys spoke about.
05:03It was a very serious injury, a scary one that he admitted in his own words there.
05:08And when I spoke to Ben Griffith, his mechanic, earlier,
05:11he said he couldn't believe how quickly Joe got back to the pace that he is riding now.
05:17And he just wanted to remind me how incredible that really is.
05:21He also shared with me the Hunter Lawrence, Joe Shimoda's HRC teammate there in the 450s,
05:28told him, when you get back on a bike, Joe, I want you to go and ride the track.
05:32There's two tracks.
05:36And he said, go and ride the one that you had your accident at.
05:40Go back and face your fear.
05:42Joe said, okay, got back out there.
05:43That was his first day on Supercross.
05:48Yeah, he stalled the bike right there on the inside, able to fire it up quick.
05:53Still Simonson having a great ride hanging in there.
05:57He sure is, but he's going to have company in the form of Hamaka.

06:06Hamaka went flying by, and he has caught Devin Simonson pretty swiftly as well.
06:13That was a good catch, but a lucky escape as well for Pierce Brown.

06:25In fourth place, trying to hold off the Daytona winner.
06:29That tells you how good this run is for Devin Simonson.
06:32Sometimes these riders, and I go back to his teammate Cody Shock a couple years ago, having some great rides,
06:38and establish himself.
06:39And I think that possibly this could be one of those rides for Devin here, and impressive.
06:44And this isn't easy to do, getting a good start like that, running up front when these guys are just
06:49hounding you.
06:50It's like you're in the hornet's nest, and he's done a great job.

07:05There was a top three result in race one, and unfortunately, things didn't go to Seth Hamaka's plans in race
07:12two, where he finished ninth.
07:14That hurts him in the overall points thing.
07:15Here's Pierce Brown trying to come back after that little hiccup earlier.

07:22And in the background is Devin's teammate, Cody Shock.
07:24Then Derek Kelly, Daxton Benick, is a little further back than where he thought he'd be, and then Coloured Park.

07:33Whoa, big chill, big leap from Cody Shock coming onto the scene.
07:42As the teammates go at it, through the warps, two minutes, 20 left on the clock.

07:51Nah, he's on his own level here tonight, and again, no surprise, and it's great to see him put it
07:59together.
08:00All three races so far here, just a little bit longer to go, two minutes plus one lap.

08:18Well, Lee, Ricky, we're looking at a perfect night frame across these three races.
08:22I find that interesting as I was talking to his mom, his mechanic, the people closest to him today, and
08:27they were telling me what a perfectionist Cole Davies is.
08:30You don't necessarily know that when you meet him, he's kind of a quiet guy.
08:34They said so much of a perfectionist, everything is like folded in his locker in the truck.
08:38Everything's in his perfect place.
08:40His mom told me that's the way he's always been through his whole life.
08:43Everything in life is organized, so he finds it tough when he hasn't got perfection in his riding to let
08:48those mistakes go.
08:50He said that's kind of part of it.
08:51It serves for the good and the bad, and he's having to sort of like, let that stuff go, mistake,
08:56move on.
08:56But that's that perfectionist in him that apparently has been there his whole life.
09:00Well, and it's obvious in just his demeanor when he talks about his results, whether it be victorious or not.
09:06This is a good scrap for third.
09:08Honda versus Kawasaki, Shimoda versus Hamaka.
09:11Well, Hamaker's definitely found his flow here in the third race.
09:16And it's going to be a tough night for Hamaker from a points perspective, especially after that crash last race
09:23in the whoops.
09:26Jalik doing a great job holding on.
09:28Man, this is going to be tough to defend that position.

09:36Yeah, and you've got to think that Seth is really benefiting from this Triple Crown format, though, because it's been
09:42a really tough night, as you mentioned.
09:44But look, as the points as they run, he's still going to be on the podium.
09:47So what could have been really challenging, he's only going to lose five points to the leader.
09:52Right. It's like, JT, it's like, this is where it works out for you.
09:55We talked about, like, again, could you imagine that second race if it was a regular main?
09:59It would have been horrible.
10:00Jalik Swole trying to grab his second podium, but it's just evaporated like that as both Shimoda and Hamaker go

10:17Cole Davies on his way home for the perfect night in Indianapolis.
10:24In just his second year in Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
10:28Last year in Glendale, Davies won two of the three races to finish third overall.
10:35Last year in Arlington, he did win a race, but he got fourth and 17th in the other two.
10:41So he finished seventh overall.
10:43Well, scrub those results.
10:45They don't matter because this 18 year old from New Zealand is going to be perfect.
