01:49the inside, but the primary line that a lot of these riders have been taking is going to the inside.

02:03Now, he sets out off to Jalik Swole, who is not going quickly through that section, and this is going

02:50Look at the run that Joe is getting through the whoops, jumping through there, not losing much time to Cole.
02:56You can see Cole didn't reel him up like he was doing in that first race.
03:01So that's what's going to put the pressure on Cole.
03:03He's going to lose that advantage that he had in the first race.
03:07Now, look, Jalik Swole's been out in front for three minutes now.

03:12He's had challenges like now, and he changes his line from that outside to the inside.

03:21He did, and you saw how aggressive Joe Shimoda there was with Cole Davies as he tries to make a

03:28And I just wonder, those comments that Cole Davies now going up the inside, do you think Joe Shimoda took

03:35Davies saying that nobody can touch him?

03:37Remember, Joe Shimoda is your reigning SMX world champion.
03:41Davies look for a line on the inside of the whoops there, but Jalik Swole is doing a tremendous job

03:48So right now, Cole's making up the time at the beginning of the whoops, and it kind of levels out.
03:53If you're jumping, you can see Joe lost maybe a bike length to Cole, but then it, you know, he
03:58reels that back out or it maintains it.

04:14He knew that Cole Davies was coming, and there's Joe Shimoda blasts his way through to second.

04:28It's almost like he was indecisive of what he wanted to do, whether he wanted to blitz or jump,
04:33and just got caught in between that decision.
04:36Jalik Swole may have company here shortly, Will, in the form of Pierce Brown.

04:42He may have company, but it's still going to be a really impressive ride for Jalik Swole.
04:47Let's bear in mind he's coming off a re-term, and a feeling he's tendon rupture that he had back
04:52at the beginning of January.
04:54Then he had the re-term, had to have all that surgery and rehab all over again.
04:59Talking to me earlier, he said in the last year, he's only spent six months of that even being able
05:04to walk on his foot.
05:06Nine days on Supercross before we came into the opening round in Arlington just two weeks ago.
05:10Incredibly impressive for Jalik Swole.

06:29And just like that, there's only three and a half minutes left.

06:38Wild how fast it goes.
06:43So, Pierce Brown finished 10th in race one.
06:47Will, he's running third at the moment.
06:49Yeah, and I was just talking to team manager Jensen Hedler at Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing.
06:54Just saying he's had a bit of a tough day.
06:56Some bike changes, which is a real breakaway from the first two rounds.
06:59Where Pierce hasn't really touched a whole lot on the bike.
07:01And asking him why that was.
07:03He said, well, I think it's just track conditions.
07:05It's tight.
07:06It's rusty.
07:06And he just needs a little bit more comfort out of the bike, Ricky, that he just didn't have.
07:10And they did say in a positive after that first race he came in and didn't ask for any more
07:15changes.
07:16That's good.
07:17When you don't have to make changes, you know exactly what the bike is doing.
07:21And then you can start racing it.
07:22You're not testing it at a race.
07:25It's a tough position to be in.
07:26But, man.
07:27All right.

07:30Cole Davies set after the win in race one.
07:32Once I got to the front, basically I just rode my race.
07:35I managed it.
07:36Well, Joe Shimoda looks pretty fired up.
07:38Pretty motivated here.
07:40He's right there.
07:41I mean, when we talked about the stats before the start, he's never won a race.
07:46An individual race had that in a Triple Crown.
07:49So, some motivation there.
07:51And, listen, he's probably starting to feel a little bit better.
07:54Getting some fitness underneath him as far as riding fitness goes.
07:58Feeling comfortable after taking off and healing up from that injury.
08:02So, really no surprise because of that.
08:04So, unfortunately, he went down early in the race.
08:07The Daytona winner, Seth Hamaker.
08:09Seth's trying to work his way back.
08:11This is what happened earlier with Gavin Towers.
08:13Watch this for a close call.
08:16Whoa.
08:17Oh, man.
08:19Flip Gavin.
08:20It was a close call for Hamaker, but it was ugly for Gavin.
08:24And he is still on the ground.
08:26He's now in the hands of the Alpine Stars medical unit.

08:32So, he's in safe hands now.
08:34But that was nasty.
08:35Oh, it was brutal.
08:36Hopefully, he'll be all right.
08:38And Joe just keeping the pressure on.
08:40And I like how Davies is responding.
08:43He's not overriding.
08:45And he was very similar to this last year.
08:48You know, when he was in a situation where he was being pressured.
08:52Davies, in my opinion, is really good at running his race.
08:56He doesn't get caught in racing behind him the majority of the time.
09:00And that is a huge attribute that he brings to the table.
09:04Points as they run now.
09:07Cole Davies would be the new leader.
09:09Joe Shimoda.
09:12And Pierce Brown would be tied for second.
09:16That's why these Triple Crowns are so awesome.
09:18Just the points fluctuations.
09:21Those are the three race format.
09:23It's so much fun.
09:24This is going to give us an interesting story heading into the off weekend.
09:27And another thing that's good about the Triple Crown and can work for you.
09:31Imagine Pierce Brown if that was the main event.
09:33Yeah.
09:34See, now he has an opportunity to make up those lost positions.
09:38And, you know, kind of stop the bleeding.
09:42So, frustration in the season opener in Arlington after Cole Davies went down.
09:49He had a valiant comeback.
09:50It was an awesome ride through the field.
09:52Last weekend in Daytona, it was a better result with second place on the podium, first of this season.
10:00Now it's looking a lot more like the Cole Davies that we expected in season 2026.
10:08Last lap.
10:09He's on his way home.
10:10Almost.
10:11It's like that first race win that he got in race one here tonight.
10:16Maybe that's just the kickstart that he needed to get back into that mindset of where he was last year
10:22in his rookie season.
10:23And, again, this is the kind of rides that JT and I were talking about to all of you.

10:31This is a talented man right here.

10:39Jalik Swal is having a good scrap with Devin Simonson at the moment.
10:42Cullen Park is 8th and then Kelly Thrasher and Hamaker is in 11th, desperately trying to make his way into
10:50the top 10 on this final lap.

11:22This is the fight for 6th and it's going to go Simonson's way.
11:28But the man who's dominating this Indianapolis event is that man there, the 18-year-old Kiwi, Cole Davies.
