00:00Many watches are in effect here.
00:02We have tornado watches and severe thunderstorm watches.
00:05So a lot of real estate from Dubuque all the way down to the Red River.
00:08Tornado watches consistently in these areas until 9 p.m.
00:11It's really two watches, but same expiration time.
00:14Areas north of Des Moines still under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m.
00:17Central Time.
00:18And a newer watch running until 10 p.m., Abilene to Wichita Falls there in North Texas.
00:23And still from Cleveland into areas near Clarion, PA, a severe thunderstorm watch actually
00:28got bumped a little farther east because of some aggressive storms there.
00:31There's Brandon Clement's video stream of what he's chasing in Iowa.
00:37And some of the storms even east of there, Cleveland had a lot of hail reports coming out of this
00:43storm.
00:44You can see as the reports get plotted, areas in northwestern Mercer County, PA, facing hail
00:51and wind.
00:52Recently we've had a couple of wind-producing storms up into Warren County, PA.
00:56Heading farther south, these storms have been pretty aggressive as well.
01:00In western Missouri, areas northeast of Carthage and also south of Pittsburgh, Kansas, more
01:07storms into the Wichita Falls area.
01:09Turning the reports here on, you can see also a lot of wind and hail in the past 24 hours
01:14and many of those reports just from today.
01:17And then heading farther north, this is where we have a warm front and a cold front.
01:21You can kind of see the shape there where the orientation of these storms, generally
01:26northeast to south, southwest, south of this low pressure system, south of Cedar Falls, but
01:32then from Cedar Falls up into Wisconsin, generally southwest to northeast.
01:35So that's near the warm front.
01:36By the way, an EF-3 tornado was confirmed in Wisconsin from last night, and so far we're
01:43up to seven confirmed tornadoes between Wisconsin and Michigan, and again, some nasty storms
01:50out there among some of them.
01:52No injuries with the EF-3, but also there were a couple of tornadoes that were on the ground
01:56in Michigan for more than 15 miles.
01:58Tonight, the severe risk continues from the southern plains into the Mississippi Valley, and
02:03also we're watching the storms barrel into western Pennsylvania.
02:06The severe risk from the southern plains to the midwest highlights damaging wind and hail
02:10as our biggest concerns here, and it's a very warm, humid air mass.
02:15Even tonight's lows in the mid-60s, St. Louis to Pittsburgh, Louisville upper 60s, low 60s
02:20in Chicago, that's just a result of that high humidity and the dew points being way up there.
02:25So numerous strong and intense thunderstorms are rolling northeast with this whole setup here.
02:30And tomorrow, we're going to see a new episode from eastern Arkansas all the way up into parts
02:33of the northeast.
02:34The strongest storms tomorrow actually will be in upstate New York, and then things take
02:38a step down a bit.
02:40But from Jonesboro, Arkansas, all the way up into Manchester, New Hampshire, there's a risk
02:45of severe weather on Thursday.
02:47But when it comes to the moderate risk, the two out of four, it's a little more restrictive.
02:51And that's mainly from Batavia, New York, into far southern Vermont.
02:56So it's a relatively narrow corridor.
02:58Right smack dab in the middle of that, we have Syracuse, so highlighting this area.
03:02You can see the whole region, but highlighting Syracuse's situation tomorrow.
03:06Late afternoon and early evening, damaging wind and hail are our main concerns here.
03:11So that's one of the bigger cities.
03:13Rochester's in there too, Albany as well, and arguably Buffalo.
03:16We technically have Buffalo on the some risk.
03:19So a lot of concerns here regarding severe thunderstorms.
03:22But, Adam, it doesn't stop here with the Thursday severe storms.
03:26No, we've had a whole week of it, and once we get through tomorrow, we have Friday and
03:30Saturday with more severe weather.
03:32In fact, for the rest of the week, Friday looks like it is going to be the worst day.
