00:00From famine to feast, after weeks of little to no rain resulting in a widespread drought
00:06across the central United States, rounds of showers and thunderstorms are on the way,
00:11delivering much-needed moisture, but also bringing the threat of severe weather and
00:16localized flooding. Most droughts end in floods. I don't think this drought's going to end, but
00:22it's getting some much-needed relief because we're tracking triplets once again. Three storms
00:27pushing across the country, bringing with them rounds of rain and thunderstorms. And while some
00:34of the rain will be spreading into the northeast, it's the central U.S. that will get the lion's
00:40share of the rain, especially in that dark green area from near Springfield towards Chicago,
00:46where we're going to see multiple inches of rain over the next couple of days. Of course,
00:51when you're talking about multiple inches of rain, you can get localized flooding. And this time of
00:56the year, you almost always have to deal with severe weather. And we're going to see that
01:00over the next few days, unfortunately. Wednesday afternoon, there it is across the central U.S.
01:06with a moderate risk right along the I-35 corridor. Now, everything moves to the northeast by the time
01:12we get into Thursday. We start talking about the Midwest from Saginaw, Chicago, all the way down in
01:19the northern Arkansas. That's storm number two. Then storm number three, hot in its heels with severe
01:26weather across the plain states on Friday. And that will likely translate into the Midwest as we head
01:32into the weekend.
