00:00Hello again. A classic March mix today. It felt okay in the spring sunshine, but quite cool in the brisk
00:07and chilly breeze.
00:09Tomorrow it'll be milder overall, thanks to this area of high pressure stationed down to the southwest.
00:15And around the top of it, we've got a warm front trying to dangle its way in.
00:19That initially will just bring a lot more cloud through the evening across Northern Ireland into Western Scotland.
00:24Today's showers still affecting northeast Scotland and the far east of England for a time.
00:28Well, they'll tend to fade. It certainly should become largely dry across East Anglia and the southeast after midnight.
00:33That cloud, though, thick enough to start to produce some light rain and drizzle over western parts of Scotland, Northern
00:39Ireland,
00:39and a little bit over the hills and coasts of Western England, too.
00:43With the cloud increasing, though, and that weather front being a warm front, introducing milder air won't be as cold
00:49as last night.
00:51Temperatures mostly starting Tuesday at 7 or 8 degrees Celsius.
00:54We'll start pretty drab, though. A lot of cloud around. Maybe some early brightness across the southeast or the northeast
00:59of Scotland.
01:00But the cloud thick enough for some drizzly rain here and there over eastern England for a time through the
01:05late morning.
01:05And certainly around western coast and hills, it'll start a little damp. Nothing too heavy.
01:09And as you can see, expecting most of that rain to fizzle out through the day.
01:12And the skies should brighten. The cloud will break up in places and we'll see some spells of sunshine coming
01:18through.
01:19The winds will be quite a bit lighter through the course of tomorrow compared to today.
01:23Yes, still a bit breezy in the northwest of Scotland.
01:26But for most, those winds noticeably down and we've got milder air in place as well.
01:30So temperature's quite a bit higher widely into the teens.
01:33And with a bit of sunshine, we could easily squeak up to 16, 17 degrees Celsius.
01:38That'll feel pretty pleasant.
01:40It will stay fairly cloudy, though, even into the evening time.
01:44Still the potential for a few light showers across the southeast.
01:47And then our eyes up to the northwest as this rather angry-looking spell of rain starts to sink its
01:53way down towards the northern Isles and the western Isles.
01:55And the winds picking up here once more, too.
01:58That is, of course, a weather front which will continue to track south through Wednesday.
02:01So a very different day for western Scotland with thick cloud and outbreaks of potentially heavy rain here.
02:07Gusty winds, too.
02:08And this weather front likely to swing its way across northern Ireland and through the central belt of Scotland during
02:13Wednesday afternoon.
02:14All the while, most of England and Wales will stay dry.
02:18Predominantly cloudy.
02:18But again, we could well see some breaks in the cloud and a bit of sunshine coming through.
02:23Perhaps not as warm as Tuesday, but still probably a little bit warmer than Monday with temperatures mostly just creeping
02:30into the low teens.
02:31And certainly feeling a lot cooler in western Scotland with that rain.
02:34And yes, some snow is likely over the tops of the mountains, but nothing too unusual about that at the
02:40end of March.
02:41Those winds, though, will continue to strengthen.
02:43That cold front will swing its way away.
02:45Then we've got a little bump, a little ridge of high pressure, bringing a chill perhaps to Thursday morning.
02:50Another weather front tries to move in, but we're really focusing on this for the end of the week.
02:55And good Friday.
02:56This area of low pressure, with the isobars squeezing together, promises some pretty blustery conditions as well as a spell
03:02of wet weather to go with it.
03:04Needs watching this.
03:06Still a few days off, so the track could change, as could the intensity of the wind.
03:10But just flagging it because a lot of people will be heading for the roads on Friday.
03:14Good Friday, of course.
03:15So just something to be aware of.
