00:00Evening. Turning a bit chilly overnight. A brisk wind has been blowing through the day.
00:05It's been blowing in plenty of showers. The picture's a bit of a mess, really, through the evening and overnight.
00:10Showers will continue to feed into these eastern parts of England and Scotland.
00:14Should be easing off a little bit across Aberdeenshire.
00:17At the same time, a few showers just dribbling through Northern Ireland and getting into West Wales.
00:22Anglesey, the Clean Peninsula, down to Pembrokeshire, Cornwall, Isles of Scilly, also seeing a few showers through the night.
00:28Between these two kind of showery zones in the extreme east and west, many places long dry and clear periods, which will allow it to turn a bit chilly.
00:37Particularly in western Scotland, northwest England, that's where certainly rural areas will see a frost and some towns and cities likely to dip down close to freezing.
00:45Elsewhere, most urban areas just about staying above zero.
00:49Feeling cold, though, because that brisk wind still blowing along those North Sea coasts and still feeding down into West Wales first thing.
00:57But generally, the winds will ease during the course of Tuesday, as will the showers.
01:01So, yeah, you may wake up to some across Pembrokeshire, Cornwall and Northern Ireland, but they should be disappearing by lunchtime.
01:08Still into the afternoon, a few showers coming into northeastern parts of England, feeding down to Lincolnshire and parts of Norfolk perhaps as well.
01:16But, again, many places won't see those showers.
01:19It will stay dry and bright with some sunshine, a much drier day for eastern Scotland compared to Monday.
01:25There is still that wind coming down from the north, but it won't be as strong.
01:29But it means the air is still pretty chilly.
01:31So, despite quite a bit of late autumn sunshine, temperatures are going to struggle.
01:35These numbers below average for the time of year.
01:38But with lighter winds compared to Monday, it might not feel quite so cold.
01:42It will turn pretty cold, though, through Tuesday evening as we keep the clear skies.
01:47The winds continue to ease.
01:48That is a recipe for tumbling temperatures.
01:51May turn a bit misty in a few places, even one or two fog patches.
01:54As the showers fade in the east, well, we might keep the temperatures up a little bit higher here.
02:00But further west, we'll certainly see the temperatures tend to pick up later in the night as the cloud and some outbreaks of rain start to trickle into the western hours.
02:08But, again, the central slice, that's where the lowest temperatures will be colder than Monday night.
02:15Wednesday starts down at zero, minus one, minus two, even in towns and cities and quite a bit lower than that in some rural spots.
02:23So, a cold start to Wednesday, a frost for many, and then through the day we'll start to see a change.
02:30We'll have lost the northerly winds and they start to come in from the west or the southwest, bringing increasing amounts of cloud across Scotland, Northern Ireland.
02:36Outbreaks of rain trickling in here, maybe turning a bit damp in West Wales and northwest England, southwest England by the middle to latter part of the afternoon.
02:45The cloud increasing elsewhere, but much of eastern England will stay dry and fine with some hazy sunshine.
02:51We'll keep the cold air in here, so temperatures again are going to struggle, particularly without the sunshine as the cloud comes in.
02:57But further west, as well as turning wetter and breezier, it will be turning milder with temperatures certainly by the end of the afternoon up to double digits.
03:07And that milder air will win out for all of us by the time we get to Thursday.
03:11For more details on that, you'll want to watch the full Week Ahead video with Annie.
