A horrific road accident was reported in the Rampur city police station area, where a speeding Thar SUV allegedly hit two youth on a motorcycle and dragged them for nearly 300 metres, leaving them critically injured.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of Thursday (19 March) and Friday (20 March) (not exact date available). According to locals, the speeding Thar rammed into the bike and continued moving, dragging both riders along the road.

The injured were identified as Arshaan and Farman. Both were rushed to the district hospital.

Doctors declared Arshaan’s condition critical and referred him to a higher medical centre in Moradabad. Reports indicate that both his legs were severely damaged and fractured. Farman sustained serious injuries to his head, arms, and legs and is currently undergoing treatment.

Anurag Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused driver, Muaz Khan, a resident of Jumma Colony. Police teams are actively searching for him.

Locals alleged that the vehicle belongs to the son of a municipal councillor and have demanded strict action against rash driving. The incident has intensified concerns over speeding vehicles in the area.

Police have assured that the investigation will be conducted impartially and necessary action will be taken.
