00:00Hello then a very good evening to you on this Tuesday evening where we have wet
00:04weather sweeping across the country with blustery showers to follow. So let's
00:09take a look at some bigger picture first of all. Here's that low pressure system
00:14here's that band of rain moving its way eastwards very quickly but the winds
00:18will pick up behind the weather front with some strong gusts across the north
00:22and the west of Scotland and it remains windy into Thursday as well and then the
00:28air turns colder so increasing chance of some snow particularly across the north
00:32a significant wind chill with that and a lot of showers in the mix. Now for the
00:37time being here's this band of wet weather extending eastwards. Strong winds but the
00:42winds will pick up behind the weather front so we're like to see gales if not
00:46severe gales across the north and the west of Scotland and that warning kicks in
00:50at midnight. So the rain will linger on across eastern counties into the early
00:55hours of the morning with showers to follow across Scotland and Northern
00:59Ireland merging to form longer spells of rain in between you could see some dry
01:02skies a bit blustery even some stars above your head as that cloud breaks but
01:08still some showers filing in across the west country as well as Wales and we
01:12hang on to the rain across Essex and Kent first thing but it will clear a wet
01:16start across much of Scotland with that strong wind gales across the north and the
01:21west could reach 50 60 miles an hour but notice it's a classic case of sunshine
01:26and heavy showers across the north there and some brighter skies further south
01:30with a few showers likely as well. The showers across the north will be heavy
01:34particularly through the morning with the risk of thunder as well as hail. The
01:37winds gradually ease as we head through the afternoon still blustery but we lose
01:41the sting in that wind and we'll see a brisk breeze further south but at least
01:46there'll be some sunshine around but notice the cloud will thicken across
01:50Northern Ireland and Western Scotland and the rain will gather yet again. So
01:56through the afternoon it looks like this temperatures 10, 11, 12 degrees Celsius
02:01and the wind will be a feature through Wednesday evening as well mixing the air
02:07up keeping temperatures around well 4, 5, 6, 7 degrees Celsius as that cloud
02:13continues to thicken and brings outbreaks of rain across Scotland into Wednesday
02:19night. Now this rain is likely to intensify into Thursday morning and also the
02:25winds will turn squally so through Thursday morning notice this rain extending
02:29towards Northern Ireland cloud thickening ahead of it and the rain will be
02:34heavy with those squally winds associated with the actual weather front. The winds pick
02:39up further south and east into Thursday morning as well but the worst of the
02:44weather will be across more northern and western areas with some heavy pulses
02:49likely causing some problems on the road on the roads and notice towards the
02:54northwest showers waiting in the wings. So through Thursday we watch as some
03:00clearer skies continue for the first part of the day across more eastern areas.
03:05Further west we'll see that rain gradually make inroads towards northern England the
03:11Isle of Man and then north Wales. Those blustery showers will continue as this
03:16squally rain extends southward stalling across northern England as well as
03:21southern parts of Northern Ireland much of Wales with some showery bursts further
03:25south as well. Temperatures in the south 13 degrees Celsius but notice the air is
03:31turning colder from the north and that wind will again pick up some strength so we're
03:37likely to see gales just developing across the northwest of Scotland with that
03:42heavy rain through the afternoon across northern England and southern Scotland as
03:48well as the southern parts of Northern Ireland. So that's the rain it's clearing
03:52which is good news the air turns colder behind increasingly particularly over the
03:56hills in the north we'll see some snow and those showers continue as well. Into
04:02Saturday we lose the strength of the wind we'll see some sunshine but still some
04:06showers in the mix. Now today's Tuesday so it's deep dive day and today it is with
04:13Ada McGiven enjoy that and I'll see you again soon.
