00:00They had a raid or something next door and they threw something over across by me and the police came
00:08over to retrieve it and the dog maybe rushed them because the dog was to the back and maybe the
00:18policeman tried to thing and the dog got shot.
00:22Ms. Elliott said the incident occurred while she was trying to celebrate her birthday. She said she cried for her
00:29pet dog. Officers told TV6 News they believe illegal drugs were thrown into the yard by a neighboring house so
00:38they gained entry to the Elliott's premises and there they encountered pet dog wrecks.
00:44How do you feel about your pet dog being shot?
00:47Well I was really upset when I heard and I never cried for a dog but I cried for a
00:53dog yesterday.
00:54Injured pet dog Rex was rushed to the local vet Dr. Crooks where he was operated on. Officers returned to
01:03the family's premises and apologized.
01:05I said I was feeling sad. Everybody was sad but we dealt with the situation. They took it to the
01:12vet and they operated on it and whatever and he's doing much better now.
01:19And last night a lot of people came policemen and he came and talked to us, sympathized with us and
01:28apologized and whatever.
01:30Mrs. Elliott said she is thanking God because the situation could have been worse.
01:37If the current wasn't born, my husband would have been in the back there and it could have been him.
01:44So we give God the praise.
01:46And Rex is recovering?
01:48Yes, they operated on him and this morning he got up good. I gave him a street, took a street,
01:55went and do his number, wherever and I left him good.
