There are two big names being floated on the trade market and reports have the Ravens interested in both, but which player would have a bigger impact in Baltimore - A.J. Brown or Maxx Crosby?
Transcript
00:00Let's go with two trade possibilities, Ed Norris, for the Baltimore Ravens.
00:03Max Crosby or A.J. Brown?
00:06Who makes the greater impact on the Baltimore Ravens between the two?
00:14I think I'm going to go with Max Crosby.
00:17This is a position, we have a good wide receiver.
00:20We don't have a pass rush.
00:23And Max Crosby is exactly that.
00:25But he is just, I hate the term motive, because people think it's a derogatory term.
00:31It's a term we use for white pass rushers.
00:33He's incredibly intense.
00:34He never stops moving.
00:35He brings a lot of energy to the field.
00:39He would add so much.
00:41He would do for the Ravens what Alonzo was doing for the Orioles.
00:44I think he brings more than just his presence and his ability.
00:47I think he'll make everybody better.
00:49He'll perform.
00:50He'll get your sacks.
00:51He'll get your hurries.
00:52He'll get your hits.
00:54But other players will get them, too, because now you've got to pay attention to Max Crosby.
00:57And we haven't had that since Terrell Suggs.
01:00Jeremy Collins, same question.
01:02Two trade possibilities.
01:03Who makes the greater impact?
01:04Come on, man.
01:04Wide receiver is the most important position on the field.
01:07Look, I'll take the A.J. Brown side of this just for one specific reason.
01:11What?
01:11It's not a matter of, I think Ed's correct.
01:15If everything were the same cost, right, Crosby makes this team better.
01:20But the story that came out last night is that Crosby, the Raiders had a deal with the Cowboys tentatively.
01:26And then somebody came in and offered them a little bit more than what the Cowboys did.
01:29So then they upped their asking price to two first-round picks.
01:32I think that's a pipe dream.
01:33This team's not giving up two first-round picks for anybody.
01:35And I think that's the problem.
01:37Ultimately, I think the Bears have been clearing some cap space trying to get Crosby.
01:40I think he ends up on the Cowboys when all said and done are the Rams.
01:43But, I mean, look, having a pass rusher is way more important for a team like this, especially when you're
01:48a run-first team.
01:49You.
01:49Can I create a C category?
01:51Yeah.
01:52Obviously, pass on the trade altogether.
01:54On both of them?
01:55Yeah.
01:55I don't want trade for anyone.
01:57If they were free agents, I'd sign them.
02:00But I don't want trade for you.
02:01This was his sorry-ass question.
02:02Why does he get the cop out?
02:04I don't know.
02:04C-O-P-T out.
02:08Top.
02:10You know how it is.
02:11When you design a question, who's up with the secret answer?
02:15That's what I.
02:16The question is moot.
02:17When I was doing Playmakers with Wyman, it was one of my favorite things is I'd give him like an
02:22F. Mary kill.
02:23And I'd give him three guys.
02:24And he goes, oh, man, I can't pick that.
02:25And I said, come on, dude.
02:26It's just an exercise.
02:27It doesn't mean anything.
02:28And then he would pick it.
02:29And he goes, who would you pick?
02:30I said, I'm not picking that.
02:31That's gay.
02:32Oh, come on.
02:33You got to pick.
02:34You know, like.
02:36Yeah, I'm not taking that trade.
02:38But again, like what Ed's saying, and he's right in the breakdown, you know it, articulate and has a high
02:44motor.
02:45He has one of the highest motors in the league.
02:47Pat Mahomes hates Max Crosby's ass.
02:50I thought you were going to say Pat Mahomes was articulate.
02:52No, he's both.
02:53He's articulate and has a high motor.
02:55How do you do that?
02:56No, but like with Max Crosby, he's, he's, I don't want to say he's in Pat Mahomes' head.
03:00Pat Mahomes is who he is.
03:01But like he's chirping at him the whole game.
03:04He just does not stop.
03:05So when you're out there on the football field, he's going after whoever has that ball.
03:10And I love that about him.
03:11I just can't give up two first-round picks for a guy at his age.
03:14Darrell and Baltimore.
03:16What's up, Darrell?
03:17Hey, how y'all guys doing, man?
03:19Doing well.
03:19How are you?
03:20Doing well, man.
03:20All right, man.
03:21Hey, as far as that question, man.
03:24I mean, Ed took the words out of my mouth, really, man.
03:26You know, I mean, Max Crosby, man.
03:28He would, he would just make this team, this defense so much better, man.
03:32And then, and A.J. Brown, I'm like A.J. Brown, but I don't think receivers is our problem.
03:38And I really think the offensive line, if you fix the offensive line, I think all receivers,
03:43receiving core is fine.
03:44But I mean, but our defense, Max Crosby would be the deal for me.
03:48But I don't think we're going to get him, but he would be my choice.
03:52Thank you very much, man.
03:54410-583-1057.
03:56That's the number.
03:57Baltimore's Big Bad Morning Show on the fan.
04:00Man, it would be fun to watch A.J. Brown run routes here.
04:02I mean, he is fantastic when he's not being an A-hole.
04:06I think you could say that about a lot of receivers, right?
04:09Yeah.
04:09Yeah.
04:10It's the one position on the field where, like, you feel like you can do everything right
04:14and not get the ball.
04:15And it's also the one position on the field where you can say you're doing everything right
04:18and not be open and think you should be getting the ball.
04:21See, I look at it the other way.
04:23You can run step for step with these guys and never get a ball thrown your way
04:28and just never get in the deal.
04:30You get no opportunities for anything.
04:31Yeah.
04:31Because, you know, you just race down the field with the number one receiver all day long
04:36and nothing happens.
04:38When's the last time the Ravens had a double-digit sack guy?
04:43Did Zedarius do it here?
04:46Did Judon get there?
04:47Are we going back that far?
04:49I don't think Judon did.
04:50I thought Judon didn't get double digits.
04:51Did he get nine and a half?
04:52Is that what I'm missing here?
04:54Maybe.
04:55But I thought he didn't get that until he got away from us.
04:58I could be wrong.
04:59I'll look it up right now.
05:00He got...
05:02Yeah, he never...
05:03No, his most...
05:05The most he had with us was nine and a half.
05:07Kyle Vannoy had 12 and a half.
05:08That's it.
05:092024.
05:10All right.
05:11I don't...
05:12That I got...
05:12He's not necessarily known as a guy, though.
05:15But still...
05:15Well, I think what you're saying is someone who's known for, like, who's a threat year
05:19after year to get 10 sacks.
05:21This is AI.
05:22Did Matt Abike get 13 and 23?
05:24He had 13 and 23.
05:25Okay.
05:2623.
05:26All right.
05:27That's not false.
05:29I literally couldn't remember when we had double digits sack guys.
05:32Because you've got to have that consistent guy.
05:34Even then, you're...
05:34Like, again, to be fair to what you're talking about, consistently seeing somebody get 10 or
05:3911 sacks a year, you know they're a good...
05:40Right.
05:41A very good pass rusher.
05:42On occasion, you get those guys that get you 16, 17, 18.
05:46Like, having a year like that, and you know that's a guy that the opposing team has to
05:50acknowledge.
05:51What do we always say about Tom Brady when he played the Ravens, fine 20, he's looking at
05:54Ed Reed.
05:55When you have a guy like Miles Garrett or a Micah Parsons or a Max Crosby, it does make you
06:01go, how are we keeping this guy away from me?
06:04It changes the passing game, too, because somebody's got to stay in and chip him.
06:07Well, look what T.J.
06:07Watt does to the Ravens.
06:09Yeah.
06:09I left him off.
06:09I should have mentioned him as well.
06:11I mean, he's running down running backs from the backside.
06:14I mean, you've got to pay attention to him all the time.
06:17Hey, we were talking to Shohei Taney earlier.
06:19Marcus has been waiting patiently.
06:21I know we're not talking baseball now, but I'm going to squeeze him in.
06:23What's up, Marcus?
06:26My...
06:27Good morning.
06:28Good morning.
06:29Since you guys said that, I feel like I've got to meet you guys one day to buy you guys
06:32some bourbon or something.
06:33I met Rob once.
06:34I met Rob once in person, but that's not what we're talking about.
06:38It's not that great.
06:39I've met him plenty of times.
06:43Go ahead, Marcus.
06:44Sorry.
06:45So, like, after you, like, see, like, certain players, you start to realize, like, how small
06:49of a human you actually are.
06:50Like, actually seeing Shohei Ohtani in person, I was like, oh, okay, so I'm not really that
06:54big of a guy.
06:54And I'm 6'2", 225 pounds.
06:56So, like, I think I'm like, you know what I mean, a pretty above-average guy.
06:59Shohei Ohtani is probably one of the most amazing athletes I've ever seen in my entire
07:04life.
07:05Like, wasn't that that NLCS game where he, like, hit three home runs and, like, struck
07:09out 10 people?
07:11And then I look at the games like that, and I'm like, bro, like, am I, like, drinking
07:13the wrong milk?
07:14Like, what is going on?
07:19And my only comp to that is, like, what we have here in Baltimore.
07:22Like, Lamar, like, throwing for, like, 4,000 yards and, like, rushing for, like, 900, and
07:27then he drops the ball, falls on the ground, shrugs off Trey Henderson, and throws for a
07:31touchdown.
07:32Like Ed said, like, you got to appreciate these things while you see them.
07:35Yeah.
07:36Because once they're gone, man, it's going to be difficult replacing that guy.
07:39Yeah.
07:39Well, you guys have a good night.
07:40Appreciate it while you have it.
07:42Yes.
07:42Appreciate it while you have it.
07:43You hear, I hear, so many people hated Manny Machado.
07:47Hated him.
07:49Now, Westbrook's hurt again.
07:50Hey, you think the Orioles can go?
07:51No.
07:52No.
07:53No, you can't do that.
07:54You can't do that.
07:56The other point to, you know, kind of what he's talking about with seeing these players
08:00and looking at the abilities of guys that you're watching.
08:03Sometimes you don't realize you're watching greatness.
08:05What's that great saying about the last time I was out having fun with the kids?
08:10It was the last time I went out in the neighborhood or whatever.
08:12You don't realize it, that that's that last memory you're going to have.
08:14Like, when you see greatness, I don't know why people want to, they want to ding it.
08:19They want to take shots at it instead of going, that guy's amazing.
08:21And if you look at Shohei Otani and you want to talk about greatness, he's won, what, two
08:25MVPs the past three years?
08:27He also, and granted, this is the caveat, you have to go by the innings he's pitched.
08:31But the last three years, he has the best ERA in baseball for any starting pitcher.
08:35I hope you take your own advice, man.
08:37What?
08:38Look across from you.
08:39Appreciate greatness.
08:41Joe, thanks, man.
