In a new patient review posted, relating their experience with Grandview Medical Group Neurology (located within The Grandview Medical Center (located off of Hwy. 280 near Birmingham, Alabama), an 80 year old who visited their ER in May with a stroke, tells how they were set up with an appointment with the neurology unit MD's, only to be called days before the visit and being told by a "dismissive" assistant that it was being cancelled.

I replay my My 9/27/23 phone call to Grandview CEO Daniel McKinney.

Breakdown Of my own patient / customer issues at Grandview in 2019.

Before you consider any other review of Dr. Kyle Hudgens MD or Grand View Neurology please see my several hours video on my 2019 $300 (CASH) visit. I had a broken skull injury I almost died from - 3 inch long insects & worms grew in the wound (SEE X-RAYS / MRI / CT IN VIDEOS). This MD would not acknowledge my injury (see images in videos), he reviewed the images which clearly show the truth of my injury.

Neurologist Kyle Hudgens of Grand View Neurology (Affinity Physian Services) (located off highway 280, Birmingham, Alabama). 6/12/19 visit following a referral in May from American Family Care (despite the radiologist there noting no abnormality, a cloudy oval several inches in diameter appeared in standard x-ray images near the basilar area of my skull / my left side). I paid $256 for this Grandview Neurology (Affinity Physician Services LLC) Kyle Hudgens M.D. visit.

The doctor engaged in too much irrelevant small talk. When I moved the conversation to my injury he acted offended. I showed him (printed and I gave him a copy of the discs (ie: my medical records)) X-Rays, CT scans and MRI showing the pebble size piece of bone that broke off the underside of my skull and was told no injuries or abnormalities were present. I showed him a CT picture from a just few days earlier showing a CSF Leak, infection and hole in the bottom of my skull (clearly visible head trauma 3 inches+ in diameter) in an MRI, CT and X-Ray image then I was told I had simply strained a neck muscle. He advanced a psychological etiology for a purely physical problem I was carrying / wrote in my records I was exhibiting aberrant behavior (I had a chronic infection in my neck below this injury and was dying at this point). Was given, no medicine, no referral and a misdiagnosis.

In this series I illustrate a nagging problem I suffered throughout this ordeal, how I would take my records and images misdiagnosed by one group of doctors / hospitals onto unrelated doctors (for another opinion) and how the previous errors contaminated my hopes at obtaining correct identification and treatment of my injury. The images were useful, in that they correctly showed the issue (serious head trauma) but subsequent doctors would look at the images and asked "well what did THEY say it was?".

00:00All right, June 30th, 2026, a new review posted by a customer and patient of Granby Medical Group Neurology.
00:10Their office is located at 3690 Granby Parkway, Birmingham, Alabama.
00:16This is just off Highway 280.
00:18We have some previous videos on how this neurology department had some kind of major disintegration event.
00:30Culminating in 2025, close to four or five doctors were either let go from this place or walked off the
00:38job in the space of a few months.
00:41Summer 2026, it looks like problems continue to persist within the neurology unit of one of Alabama's largest hospitals.
00:53This patient writes,
00:54In the third week of June, I am 80 years old and was admitted to Grandview ER and hospital after
01:03having a stroke on May 11th.
01:06After discharge, I was provided with written instructions to follow up with Granview Neurology within two weeks.
01:16After multiple phone calls and referrals from my GP and cardiologist to the neurologist, I eventually had an appointment for
01:27July 6th.
01:28I was called today by an extremely dismissive person from Grandview who canceled the appointment on the basis it was
01:37for a second opinion.
01:39So yeah, not really sure what happened in this case.
01:43Multiple reports out there of the neurology department being severely understaffed.
01:52Along these lines, patients who have been with Grandview for decades are mentioning how medical services and exams for conditions
02:05that they had done traditionally all of a sudden were a no-go area.
02:14I found this job solicitation dated 22nd of June, 2026 on the Fish for Jobs website.
02:24And it's for a neurological physician in the Grandview Medical Group.
02:29So it looks like they're actively still trying to staff this place, keeping a close eye on the situation in
02:37this beleaguered hospital.
02:39Yes, ma'am.
02:40I'm trying to reach the office of CEO Daniel McKinney.
02:44Thank you for calling Grandview Administration.
02:46I was a patient for Grandview Neurology, Dr. Kyle Hudgens, MD.
02:52I called their office yesterday, September 26, 2023, to discuss billing and service issues that arose during my visit.
03:00I had a broken skull injury I was dying from.
03:03I showed the doctor, printed out an x-ray CT MRI showing the injury clearly.
03:08Dr. Hudgens, looking at the same images, told me no injury appeared there.
03:14He provided no useful service in my visit, $265 cash.
03:18I would like to inform the CEO that Grandview Neurology staff now use pseudonyms, nicknames, and false names when dealing
03:27with the public.
03:28I was hung up on when requesting a first and last name from the staff I talked to.
03:34She identified herself as Ronnie.
03:36At the same time, the representative for the MD make $140 an hour after going to school for 10 years.
03:44They request access to patients' PHI personal health data.
03:48They seek to remain anonymous.
03:50In my case, this practice is now being abused because it's being used to conceal negligence and liability.
03:56Also, a HIPAA issue is involved, withholding medical records.
04:00When I talk to someone about a million-dollar health issue, I'm going to have to have a first and
04:06last name for my records keeping before I talk to that person.
04:10That's professional.
04:11Your customers and patients who pay you money will not accept this corrupt practice, and it will one day soon
04:17be done away with, mandated by law.
04:20So you heard it here first.
04:22Still trying to talk to someone at Grandview about my bill, and you can reach me at that phone number.
04:27Look forward to talking to you, sir.
04:30Thank you for calling Grandview Medical Group Neurology, the office of Drs. Kyle Hudgens, Rodney Swilley, James Strong, Drew Uric,
04:41Stephen Suggs, and Natalia B.
04:43Hello.
04:44I'm trying to reach Ronnie.
04:45This is her.
04:46Yes, ma'am.
04:47I called yesterday regarding my bill and a visit with the college.
04:52One second.
04:53What's your date of birth?
04:54Okay.
04:55Do you have a last name?
04:56I'm not giving you my last name, sir.
04:58Okay.
04:59I'll give you my initial.
05:00Okay.
05:01Grandview doesn't give the first and last names of people that deal with the public.
05:05I can give you my first name and my last initial, sir, but I do not give out my last
05:10name.
05:10No, ma'am.
05:10You'll give me your first and last name, or I can't talk to you.
05:13Okay.
05:14Well, unfortunately, I will not be able to talk to you then.
05:16Thank you, and you have a good day.
