00:00Good morning. Some patches of fog and frost around this morning, but many places will have a fine day with
00:07some early spring sunshine.
00:09Quite a grey start over parts of Lincolnshire and down across the Midlands, South Wales.
00:13The cloud thick enough here for a little bit of light rain and drizzle.
00:16A few showers continue over the far north of Scotland where there's also a brisk breeze.
00:20The wind's lighter than yesterday though for Northern Ireland and the west coast of Scotland where we've got a few
00:25pockets of frost this morning,
00:26but generally a fine sunny day here. Any mist and fog across East Anglia in the South East, that should
00:31clear away.
00:32Sky is brightening, but generally a bit more cloud compared to yesterday, certainly over the Midlands and Southern England,
00:38but still fine and quite mild here actually with temperatures above average.
00:42We could squeak up to 15, perhaps even 16 Celsius with some sunny spells.
00:47Certainly sunshine further north. Temperatures here not quite as high, but still 9, 10 degrees.
00:51Bad average for the time of year because those winds are lighter. It should feel fairly pleasant, I suspect.
00:57But then with clear skies this time of year, as the sun sets, the temperatures tumble sharply.
01:02We'll keep quite a bit of cloud over England and Wales through the night and the cloud thickening in Northern
01:06Ireland.
01:06Some showery rain pushing in here through the night and eventually into Western Scotland.
01:11But ahead of that with the clear skies, some frost likely across Northern Scotland for sure.
01:16Towns and cities may just stay above freezing, but in rural spots will be a few degrees below.
01:21Further south, there'll be more cloud around, so keeping those temperatures up once more.
01:25On to Wednesday, many places brightening up.
01:27I think that'll be the best way to describe the day because it could, well, start quite cloudy, quite misty.
01:32There will be some showery bursts of rain, especially in Western Scotland,
01:35and then some could return to Northern Ireland later on.
01:38Quite a bit of cloud across England and Wales, but I'm hopeful, as I say, it will brighten up.
01:42We'll see some sunny spells coming through.
01:44The breeze coming up from the south, that could be quite noticeable along some of these coasts,
01:49but it's also wafting up that milder air further north, so temperatures more widely getting up to the teens.
01:55Across Northern England, North Wales with some sunshine, and again across the south and east, 14, 15, perhaps 16 Celsius.
02:02Not as warm with the wetter weather in Western Scotland and a fairly brisk wind blowing here.
02:07That'll continue to blow in some milder air as we go through Wednesday night and into Thursday.
02:12Thursday likely to see the peak in the temperatures this week.
02:15For more details on that, you'll want to watch our full Week Ahead video that Alex Burkle recorded through Monday.
