00:00Morning. Still pretty chilly out there, first thing for most of us, but milder air is on the way.
00:06That milder air, though, will also bring cloud and further outbreaks of rain.
00:10A fairly wet and windy start for Northern Ireland.
00:12Pulse of rain then working their way into Scotland, falling as snow over the hills
00:16and turning wet this morning over northwest England and Wales.
00:19Eventually, some of that rain will spread into the Midlands after a dry start,
00:23turning soggy here by late morning.
00:25And the rain then pops up in East Anglia and the southeast of England around lunchtime.
00:30Then there'll be a drier slot before showers come in.
00:33Bands of heavy showers moving through on a fairly brisk wind.
00:37With showers, though, they tend to zip through and then the sun will pop out a minute later.
00:41So there will be some brighter spells through the day today.
00:43And it is, as I said, turning milder.
00:47It may not feel like 10 or 11 degrees because of the strength of the wind.
00:50It will be getting quite blustery and gusty, especially along western coast.
00:54But these numbers quite a bit higher than yesterday's temperatures.
00:58So the milder air is moving in and it's going to stick around even into the weekend.
01:02A few showers around this evening, but they do tend to fade.
01:05So many places become dry.
01:07The main exception will be Northern Ireland and Wales.
01:09And then this zone of rain will work into northern England and southern Scotland
01:13by the time we get to dawn tomorrow.
01:16Further south, staying largely dry, staying fairly cloudy.
01:19And with the winds coming in from the southwest,
01:21well, the milder air sticks around as well.
01:23Look at these numbers for overnight.
01:25Many places staying at 7, 8 degrees Celsius.
01:29And in the southwest, we may well stay up in double digits.
01:32Some clearer skies in northern Scotland could allow lows of 3 or 4 Celsius.
01:37Now, as you go into the weekends, there will be this zone of mostly light rain
01:41working across Scotland initially.
01:42And then another pulse of rain comes in from the west.
01:45The brighter colours there, suggesting some pretty heavy bursts of rain,
01:48especially over the hills of northwest England and western Scotland.
01:51Some showery rain too for Wales and southwest England.
01:55Need to watch the rain here just because it's been so very wet.
01:58Any extra rain could cause a few issues.
02:01The winds all the while fairly brisk and gusty,
02:04but all the while feeding in the milder air from the southwest.
02:08So temperatures on Saturday, double digits pretty much across the board.
02:12Main exception being the far north of Scotland.
02:14But otherwise, 10, 12, 13, 14 degrees.
02:18Bit of brightness.
02:18Wouldn't be surprised if temperatures don't even get a little bit higher than that.
02:22These kind of numbers we haven't seen for quite some time.
02:25And compare these temperatures to Thursday's temperatures.
02:28And large parts of the country are 5, 6, 7 degrees warmer on Saturday
02:34compared to yesterday's values.
02:37So yes, it is turning quite a bit milder.
02:40Still pretty mild on Sunday as well,
02:42but there will be more rain around too.
02:44For more details on that,
02:45you'll want to watch Aidan's weekend video from yesterday.
02:49And that is available on our YouTube channel.
