00:00All right, let's do some NFL team grades, Tyrone.
00:03All right.
00:03A couple of them stood out to me.
00:05The least favorite general manager in the entire sport.
00:10You want to tell your guess who he is and what the grade was?
00:12Well, it has to be a bad team, and you just told me it's not the Jets.
00:16Not the Jets, no.
00:17So let me guess Cleveland.
00:20By the way, Cleveland would be a great guess.
00:22Yeah.
00:23But Cleveland's not the answer.
00:24All right.
00:25I'll just give you right now.
00:26The Cleveland Browns, real quick here.
00:30Cleveland Browns, overall, let's see.
00:33Overall rank was low.
00:34They're 30th out of 32.
00:36Ownership got a C.
00:37General manager got a C.
00:39Head coach Stefanski.
00:40He had a low break.
00:41He's no longer there.
00:41Yeah, I think I saw he got a low break.
00:42He got a C-.
00:44Okay, yeah.
00:44Team travel, a D-.
00:46Yeah.
00:46So they don't like the hotel, I guess, that the team puts them up in.
00:50It also has to do with the plane.
00:52Maybe, okay.
00:52No, it's also related to plane.
00:54Offensive coordinator there, D+.
00:56That goes to the quarterback situation, obviously.
00:58So how about if I told you that the New York Giants general manager, Joe Shane, who came out at
01:05the combine a couple days ago and reiterated that the report from Pat Leonard in the Daily News, which said
01:11that he's been relegated to a glorified scout, is not accurate.
01:15And the Giants apparently are upset with that assessment by Pat Leonard, who's our buddy here on this show and
01:22a good friend of mine as well, that he came out of the combine, Joe Shane did, and said he's
01:27been tasked with being in charge of all football operations for the New York Giants.
01:31And we're like, no, you're not.
01:34John Harbaugh's in charge.
01:35Of course he is.
01:35That was the last sticking point of the contract.
01:37Contract, right.
01:38That if I'm not in charge of everything, I'm not coming to New York.
01:41I'll go somewhere else.
01:41And the Maris and Tishers and the Koch family said, okay, you're in charge of everything.
01:45Yeah.
01:45And then he brought Donna Ponty in front of the NFL League office.
01:48She's the number two gal there.
01:50Mm-hmm.
01:50And then Joe Shane.
01:52Joe Shane, now, he might get them ready for the draft.
01:54I think that's legit.
01:55Yeah, that makes sense.
01:56But he doesn't make the final say in who they're drafting.
01:58Right.
01:58In any event, he got a D.
02:01Yeah.
02:01No, that's telling.
02:02Worst grade of any general manager in the sport.
02:05But I was looking through it, and a couple things stood out to me.
02:08And the first thing that shocked me, legitimately shocked me, if I said to you, based on how we feel
02:15about them and how we think players and people feel about the Pittsburgh Steelers,
02:21what grade do you think the Rooney family got in Pittsburgh?
02:25Now, again, just for those of you just tuning in, these are anonymous polls that every player's given a sheet
02:31on, and they just fill in the grade.
02:34So it's everything from treatment of families, home game field, training staff, coaches, coordinators, ownership.
02:41It's everything, okay?
02:43Nutrition, food, weight room.
02:46Weight room, yeah.
02:46Yeah, so what grade do you think the players gave the Rooney family as owners of the Steelers?
02:52Now, I'm going to think it's slightly lower only because I feel like Tomlin didn't leave for no reason.
02:59If everything's perfect, I think a coach has been at long stays.
03:02And I don't know when they actually give them these, so I'm not sure if, so it's before Tomlin got
03:07here.
03:07Yeah, yeah.
03:07So, no, my telling would be that Tomlin's looking at the situation and going, it's not Shangri-La.
03:12Okay, so stop there.
03:13Mike Tomlin got an A from the players, just to give you some context.
03:16Yeah, it makes sense.
03:17So, I'm going to say, I would think they'd be in the top third.
03:20Yeah.
03:21I'm going to say, so in the top 10.
03:22Okay.
03:22I'm going to pick them 11th through 20.
03:24Meaning, I could B?
03:26Yeah.
03:27Ballpark?
03:27B, B, plus, B, B, yeah, B.
03:29In the B, A, in the B family.
03:31Yeah.
03:31Okay.
03:32The Rooney family is owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
03:35While Mike Tomlin got an A from the players.
03:37Right.
03:37The ownership got a D minus.
03:40Wow.
03:41A D minus.
03:42Now, and the word in Pittsburgh, because I called a couple of buddies of mine that used
03:45to play there.
03:46Yeah.
03:46Is that they treat the players the way the Bengals do.
03:49Like, it's not the greatest facility in the world.
03:52Travel's not the best.
03:53Hotels are not the best.
03:55And that kind of falls in line with the fact that players gave the field an F minus.
04:00Treatment of families, which is a big deal these days.
04:02On F, locker room, on F minus, team travel, on F.
04:08This is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
04:10Wow.
04:11And in a million years, I never would have thought they would have gotten those grades.
04:15Well, it also explains, perhaps, the drought from big time winning.
04:18Another thing I know that they do, they do their field on Friday.
04:21They let Pitt football play.
04:23College.
04:23Yeah.
04:24Pitt college play.
04:25And then they play and they don't fix the field, because there's been times where teams
04:28have been on the road and complained about that field, because they just let the college
04:31team chew it up.
04:32Of all 32 teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers were ranked dead last.
04:36Think about that.
04:37A team that has not had a losing record in over two decades came in with all the different
04:43grades they get dead last, which means the grades the players give you does not equate
04:49to how you perform on the field.
04:51Steelers players hate the Roonies, hate the facilities, hate the field, don't like how their
04:57families are treated, but they never have a losing season.
