00:00Let's go to this coming weekend with the NFL Combines.
00:03I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that's going to be on the 22nd.
00:07Tell the folks out there, Adam, this is more like the true convention.
00:10I mean, the Super Bowl, people are at, it's kind of more of a media thing.
00:14This is where you get general managers and agents speaking.
00:18The A.J. Brown deal of a couple years ago between Tennessee and Philadelphia
00:22was actually consummated at the Combines between the two GMs at the time.
00:28So what kind of deals do you think potentially could come out of this?
00:32Can we see A.J. maybe on the move again?
00:35Could this be the start of it here this coming weekend?
00:38Yeah, to be honest with you, Dan, it actually starts depending on the general managers.
00:44If the general managers are at the Senior Bowl, now a lot of them don't go anymore
00:47because they don't want to be badgered because that's more of a coaches convention
00:50at the Senior Bowl, more for scouts.
00:52But the Brian Burns deal got the ball, got rolling there three years ago
00:56between the Giants and the Panthers because both sides were at the Senior Bowl.
01:00So they started, they actually talked about it and then consummated it
01:04going forward more at the Combine.
01:06But yeah, so the Combine's actually the following week.
01:09And then you're right, though, the agents, this is where the ball gets rolling
01:14in free agency.
01:14There's a lot of tampering that goes on.
01:16It's rampant.
01:17It's kind of comical.
01:17I'll have to tell you a quick story.
01:20I don't know if you've been there before in Indy, downtown Indy.
01:23So Steak and Shake, which is still there, for many years, you would see general managers
01:27and agents meet there.
01:28And there's a very prominent NFL agent who's had probably top five agent in NFL history,
01:34something like that, in terms of big time players.
01:36And I saw him and I had his list of players that were free agents.
01:39I'm like, wait a minute, that GM's not the one from the team that you have your player.
01:43That's clearly tampering.
01:44And I was screwing with him texting him.
01:46But, yeah, it's wide open.
01:48It's right out there.
01:49And it's comical.
01:50But it's very, very important.
01:52You're right.
01:52So many big time deals have gotten done there where there are three quarters or more, 90%
01:58of going away.
02:00And then the following week, you just consummate on Monday.
02:03Remember, free agency starts early this year.
02:05Starts on March 9th.
02:07That is when the legal tampering begins.
02:09All the big names go the first day.
02:12By the time we get to the start of new league year on the 11th,
02:16all the big names are gone.
02:17It's sort of anticlimactic.
02:20Yeah, I just know that Jimmy Sexton and Drew Rosenoff,
02:24I think they like the fries there.
02:26Just what I heard.
02:26I don't know.
