00:00I was taken in the supplemental draft, and Brian Bosworth and a bunch of guys
00:05like Chris Carter, we went out in 87.
00:07And from my understanding, Jacob, the NFL has never denied anybody
00:12an opportunity to go into a supplemental draft.
00:15Were you okay with what and how the NFL handled the Brendan Soresby story?
00:19Because it looks like now he's got to wait until the 2027 NFL draft,
00:24and that's yet to be determined whether or not a team will overlook the gambling.
00:28Now that all of this has come out, does this make it even harder for him
00:33to potentially get into that NFL draft and actually get drafted next April?
00:39I think it's going to be a big concern, but in a strange way,
00:43I kind of think it might benefit him not to be in the supplemental draft
00:46because the element of time, and I get that he's not going to be playing anywhere
00:49this 2026 season, and that's going to have a massive impact on, you know,
00:54seeing how is he going to develop?
00:55What's he going to look like during the pre-draft process?
00:57But basically, by not going into the supplemental draft,
01:01I don't know if there was a settlement on this,
01:02but the NFL has seemingly said Soresby will be allowed to participate
01:06in the pre-draft stuff, whether it's college all-star games,
01:09the NFL combine, pro day workouts, all that sort of stuff.
01:13So I think he probably looked at it and said,
01:15hey, if I go in this supplemental draft, like, yeah,
01:18maybe I would get drafted somewhere and get a chance to play in the NFL.
01:21But if he had gone undrafted through that process,
01:23then trying to get into the league after that would have been really difficult for him.
01:28It would have put him in a time crunch, too, just trying to get to a team,
01:31learn a system, prove that he can belong there, all with the gambling stuff hanging over his head.
01:36So strangely, I think this is probably the best outcome for both sides.
01:40Again, not ideal for Soresby's purpose that he can't play this year anywhere,
01:43but I think time kind of heals all wounds a little bit.
01:46And when we get to next April, if Soresby has good answers about, you know,
01:51like what has he done to kind of stem this problem that he has,
01:54try to alleviate concerns with the teams,
01:56I think it'll give him a better chance of being drafted and sticking around the NFL.
02:01I completely 1,000% agree with you.
02:04I think that supplemental draft is horrible,
02:06and it stunts the growth and development of all players.
02:10Very rarely has anybody come out of that
02:12and really gone on and done any kind of success in the NFL.
02:15There's only two guys I can think of,
02:17and that's Bernie Kosar and Chris Carter here.
