A rainbow formed over the Grand Canyon as supercell storms moved into the distance while extreme meteorologist Dr. Reed Timmer reported on Oct. 21.
Transcript
00:00We are chasing supercell storms up to the Grand Canyon here. You can see a rainbow over the Grand Canyon.
00:07Giant hole in the ground here. Beautiful. But you can definitely see the supercell moving off to the northeast. We
00:12are now pivoting to flash flood mode out near Cameron, Arizona. The little Grand Canyon there has a flood going
00:19down it after an eight foot rise in that wash. So there could be some serious flooding in the Cameron
00:24area. All those supercells we were chasing earlier are streaming up into this area, up into the higher terrain.
00:30Dumping their rainfall and producing some flash flooding. But there you can see a beautiful rainbow here over the Grand
00:36Canyon. Supercell threat continues. Tornado watch continues as well. And we are tracking these supercell storms rotating as they come
00:44up into the higher terrain. Seems like they intensify when they get into the mountains a bit up in the
00:49higher terrain to the Flagstaff areas off to the north, north of I-40. So we're going to continue to
00:54chase these storms and watch their mesocyclones intensify as they enter the higher terrain.
