00:00How do you not think the storylines this past week
00:03going into the divisional rounds this weekend
00:06is Mike Tomlin resigning in Pittsburgh
00:09and also John Harbaugh being fired by the Baltimore Ravens?
00:16We start here with Tomlin.
00:18Mike Tomlin is one of the coaches in the National Football League
00:22that if I were still able to play today,
00:25that's one of the guys that I would love to play for.
00:28This guy's an accountability guy.
00:30And if you can make Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell successful
00:35with those two lunatics that played in the NFL
00:39and you can make those guys productive,
00:41how do you not look at this guy as a come-to-Jesus kind of coach?
00:45This is a guy that holds people accountable.
00:48There's a couple guys on that coaching staff
00:50that are former teammates of mine.
00:52Carl Dunbar is a defensive line coach who was at Alabama.
00:55And also you have Charles Henry there,
00:59who was their tight end coach.
01:00And he tells you all the time when those guys are in meetings,
01:04he holds people accountable and he'll throw anybody on blast.
01:09Now, what he does in 2026, it sounds like he's going to take a year off.
01:16It sounds like he's going to try to recharge.
01:18I mean, I love the Pittsburgh Steelers.
01:21The Pittsburgh Steelers organization is by far the gold standard on stability.
01:28Think about this.
01:29You've had more popes and presidents in the United States and more popes
01:36than you've had head coaches in Pittsburgh.
01:40Since 1969, you've had three dudes in the room,
01:43Chuck Knoll, Bill Cowher, and Mike Tomlin.
01:46Now you're going to have a fourth guy.
01:48I mean, that's incredible stability.
01:50The only problem that they had in Pittsburgh was this.
01:53They didn't have a transition plan coming out of Roethlisberger.
01:58A transition plan is not Justin Fields or Mason Rudolph or a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers.
02:05That's not a transition plan.
02:07A lot of organizations struggle with that.
02:11You know, it's a headless football team right now until you figure out the quarterback job.
02:14Now, is this a good job?
02:16Of course it's a good job.
02:17You know, I recommended, you know, this week and other places that I said that Marcus Freeman
02:23would be an absolutely great hire here for the Roonies if you were able to put him in the building there.
02:30How is this guy not the perfect dude?
02:34He's a people guy.
02:35And as a Miami guy, he actually makes me want to root.
02:39Well, maybe not root, but he makes me like Notre Dame a little.
02:44He has done so much for that program.
02:46Who would have thought it would have been an upgrade having Marcus Freeman take over for Brian Kelly?
02:52Who would have thought that?
02:54How incredible is that on what he's done?
02:57Hey, for the record, I know a lot of people are thinking this, that I wouldn't want Notre Dame in the playoff,
03:02but I do, and I did.
03:05I did want them in because that's great for football.
03:09I want the best 12 in.
